My aunt taught the Darden brothers back in the day in Waycross, Ga. One of brothers has passed away and my Aunt passed away Feb. 25th, 2023! She was 96 going on 97! A wonderful person she was a such a great teacher! They owned The Green Frog but it closed many years ago! It was a great place to eat! . Love your channel watch it every day!

Nothing like Italian meatballs. I like the stock in Ikea but the one way system around the store has me feeling claustrophobic. Can't wait for your return to try the desserts at Smokey Bones. There is a HUGE IKEA in Ottawa, Canada. It is at least four stories high and has almost whatever you can imagine inside it. When I first moved into my condominium, I went to IKEA and looked for a small kitchen table that seats two, a 5-shelf bookcase, and CD and DVD 4-shelf cases. Amazingly, I found everything I needed plus a technician came to put everything together. I really do appreciate your food reviews and your visits to various restaurants and, especially your video, comments and reviews on dollywood. Someday I hope to go there, so your videos are really informative.

I haven't been to a Smokey Bones in a good many many years our building has when you come in the door you have to go up a small flight of steps and there's nothing handicapped in they're building at least back then I remember I ordered a New York strip and my husband ordered all-you-can-eat ribs if I'm not mistaken he had about three plate everything was so good I miss getting out but it's rare when I do because I have a lot of health issues enjoy each other and going out and having lunch together these are memory that you'll cherish I enjoyed the video as always take care and have a great day the reason I remember so much about it is cuz it was the first and last time I was there...until I got into my chair..can't go up steps hehehe😊

Hi guys smokey bones does have great barbecue. We have one in Montgomeryville PA inside the mall. Love their pull pork sandwiches. John your Burger really looked delis and fresh love coleslaw in my burgers as well. Good choice for your platter Bobbie. Never tried their roasted corn looked amazing. I love corn on the grill. I love IKEA, we go a few times a year usually but we haven't been in since 2020 when Covid hit. Lots of distractions in there, I always want everything, but I hate putting the furniture together. We have eaten at IKEA and I usually get the Swedish meatball special, and when we are leaving we go in to the little grocery store near the registers and we bring home a bag of the meatballs, the gravy mix and a few jars of the Lingonberry Jam, delicious. Your food looked delicious, the chili would be a go to for me, but everything else looked so good. Thanks for sharing your meal here with us.

It is very different than when it opened. It started out as brisket heavy. To me, it was just okay - that cornbread skillet was the best part of the place! They did have the jalapeno cheddar sausage and turkey dishes - that reminds me more of Dickeys.
Looks like a good place to eat. Never heard of the chain before. I too like my burgers medium well to well. I definitely like some char on it. As far as IKEA my husband and I go to the one in Philadelphia. We live in the nearby suburbs. Love that store. Could spend hours in it. The restaurant is surprisingly good. One time they had an authentic swedish smorgasbord you had to buy Tix to ahead of time that was absolutely delicious. The every day offerings are super affordable and the swedish meatballs are a must.

I have been to IKEA a few times and it is amazing. It is like a factory. They have a lot of good price stuff in there but it’s a little overwhelming to me just be ready to do a lot of walking and the food is very good and priced perfectly and also delicious desserts. I love cornbread in chili. Whenever I make Chili I always make a skillet of cornbread too! We frequent Smoky Bones often we have one just a few miles away. Never tried the burgers but looks good!
You gave Smokey Bones B.B.Q. a good review where you are? Here in South Florida I went to lunch at a Smokey Bones. The parking lot had 3 cars and a pickup truck there. It was lunch time. I ordered Queso and chips starter for $8.99.The cheese Queso they gave me was small. Usually there is a decent helping of cheese so you can dip the chips in. Not here! The dish with the cheese was more coated with cheese then having a decent helping. It was like a thinly coated dish which could have been served on a flat plate!The chips that came with the starter were enough to fill a small bag of chips! That was $8.99! Again expensive for a few Tortilla chips and cheese! I ordered a club soda with it. That was $3.99 for a 20 oz soda water! Quite pricey for water carbonated! I then ordered the brisket grilled cheese sandwich. Two slices of thin bread toasted bread with cheese and brisket with the brisket being quite fatty for $21.99. Our server was nice though. The next time we will go to Flanagans for any kind of B.B.Q.! Tired of these restaurants over charging. How much more does a few more tortilla chips cost??? Maybe this was why Smokey Bones was empty during lunch time!
I have never been in an IKEA. Would love a review of it if you are so inclined and gracious! I thought it was a Best Buy at first the way it looked. hehehe I haven't been in Smokey Bones in at least a decade plus. I had been to SB in Fort Myers and in Champaign (I have a silly, funny story about Smokey Bones but I am not going to waste your time with it). They still have them near my brother in Plantation, FL and near my cousin in Pinellas Park, FL (and near my old home in Miami). But sadly the Champaign one closed (so did Cheddars!). I remember when they first opened I liked their skillet pan corn bread. It was so yummy! I got brisket but it was just okay (back in 99/2000). This SB looks completely different from the old days!
Great video!! I don’t eat burgers that have pink in them or red. In fact, here in Canada, if you get a pink or red burger, we send it back. We’re also not asked how we like our burgers done. We assume they’ll be cooked and juicy.
I live in Ohio and an hour and a half away from IKEA in Pgh. We try to go there at least twice a year, and usually go to Bahama Breeze. We will have to try Smokey Joes next time!
I absolutely LOVE Smokey Bones, and I usually get one of their combo plates with three different meats when I go there. You guys should check out Famous Dave's Bbq. It is similar to Smokey Bones, but I think it's a little bit better than Smokey Bones.
Famous Dave’s is on our list. Been there before and got that trash can lid meal. We don’t have one close to us though. We went to the one at Cedar Point. We also get that combo at Smokey Bones. 😎😎
The chili looked so good. Your burger was huuuge. I would not buy the $25 burger even though I could probably eat the leftovers for a week. I like my burger a little pink because otherwise they cook them too long and they are too dry.
It's been years since I have been to a Smokey Bones. Love the cornbread with the special butter. I used to love my hamburgers medium rare but my brother says it's the way to catch e. coli so I have switched to medium well. Still miss it though.
I wish I would have gotten a piece of cornbread. Funny you say that about e. coli because I was telling John when he ordered his hamburger. I thought if it wasn't cooked enough, I would be afraid of getting e coli.😎😎
I got more excited over the plants than I did the food. 😂 Love iris! So many different kinds and colors. Just wish they lasted longer. The food looked good, too. Especially Bobbies!
my hubby and i used to go to the one in fredericksburg, va, but we moved from there. i just checked on line and they are closed perm, it said. good food but they played loud horrible rap and hip hop and some head banger music. this was a few years ago. my hubby wouldnt go there anymore just because of that. the place was always empty as it was mostly mid aged people that ate there and i heard others complain about the music but the manager was angry about me and the table next to me, also asking to turn it off or change the channel. so, over time, i went alone, just for the chicken and finally gave up. my guess is, no one went there, because of that music. they played out outside too, super loud. i even reached out to the regional manager who said its up to the manager. so, in this case, the “customer was never right” and they shut down it appears. it was in a prime location, the top location in the “burg” as we all called it. but the building was beautiful. the kids that run these places need to have nice music or none at all. just my thoughts.
That is sad it closed down. I noticed a lot of restaurants play music too loud. Sometimes I wish places didn't play music or not so loud. So you could hear one another talk.😎😎

I remember when they first opened I liked their skillet pan corn bread. It was so yummy! I got brisket but it was just okay (back in 99/2000). This SB looks completely different from the old days!

Great video!! I don’t eat burgers that have pink in them or red. In fact, here in Canada, if you get a pink or red burger, we send it back. We’re also not asked how we like our burgers done. We assume they’ll be cooked and juicy.

I live in Ohio and an hour and a half away from IKEA in Pgh. We try to go there at least twice a year, and usually go to Bahama Breeze. We will have to try Smokey Joes next time!

I absolutely LOVE Smokey Bones, and I usually get one of their combo plates with three different meats when I go there. You guys should check out Famous Dave's Bbq. It is similar to Smokey Bones, but I think it's a little bit better than Smokey Bones.
Famous Dave’s is on our list. Been there before and got that trash can lid meal. We don’t have one close to us though. We went to the one at Cedar Point. We also get that combo at Smokey Bones. 😎😎
You did fine, John. For food safety reasons, I do not recommend undercooked ground beef in any dish.

The chili looked so good. Your burger was huuuge. I would not buy the $25 burger even though I could probably eat the leftovers for a week. I like my burger a little pink because otherwise they cook them too long and they are too dry.
It's been years since I have been to a Smokey Bones. Love the cornbread with the special butter. I used to love my hamburgers medium rare but my brother says it's the way to catch e. coli so I have switched to medium well. Still miss it though.
I wish I would have gotten a piece of cornbread. Funny you say that about e. coli because I was telling John when he ordered his hamburger. I thought if it wasn't cooked enough, I would be afraid of getting e coli.😎😎

my hubby and i used to go to the one in fredericksburg, va, but we moved from there. i just checked on line and they are closed perm, it said. good food but they played loud horrible rap and hip hop and some head banger music. this was a few years ago. my hubby wouldnt go there anymore just because of that. the place was always empty as it was mostly mid aged people that ate there and i heard others complain about the music but the manager was angry about me and the table next to me, also asking to turn it off or change the channel. so, over time, i went alone, just for the chicken and finally gave up. my guess is, no one went there, because of that music. they played out outside too, super loud. i even reached out to the regional manager who said its up to the manager. so, in this case, the “customer was never right” and they shut down it appears. it was in a prime location, the top location in the “burg” as we all called it. but the building was beautiful. the kids that run these places need to have nice music or none at all. just my thoughts.
That is sad it closed down. I noticed a lot of restaurants play music too loud. Sometimes I wish places didn't play music or not so loud. So you could hear one another talk.😎😎
