    So interesting how it handled all the problems. You had more unusual situations in this drive than I had all month in my FSD trial.

    At 8:19 the construction worker is holding the stop sign without the intention of stopping traffic and the car proceeds. Would love to hear Ashok talk about situations like that. V11 probably would have stopped here.

      @FSDinNYC  25 дней назад

      Indeed I'm impressed V12 properly ignored that stop sign. I recall v11 used to slam on the brakes on a highway because of a stop sign on an adjacent local road.

      This is the stuff I am seeing. I have studied at least 25 of these videos in 12.3 and it actually does some amazing things. At times it behaves like a good driver.

      @@FSDinNYC Had the same thing happen on V11 last year. Going through a small town the car stopped on a road without a stop sign. There was a road to the left that cut into my road at like a 15° acute angle. The car saw the stop sign for that road and stopped.

    That was awesome, in my opinion. Tesla FSD is now assertive enough to drive through NYC. It’s been said that AI will take jobs away, how about taking your driving away?

      The Tesla did this trip by itself, but I'm still not ready to say it can replace me yet. I need to see it complete many drives flawlessly before I can consider say that.

    • @FSDinNYC

      FSD 12.3.3 is an excellent but expensive driver assist. Until it's clear that robotaxis are coming soon, it wouldn't make sense for the stock to move. I do think it's coming though. I had never had a zero intervention trip in FSD v11, but I've had several in v12.

      That's what smart investors call alpha...a huge opportunity in the imbalance between what we can see it's doing versus what analysts & people think it can do.

    A slow 5 mile drive thru the city, with few challenging turns. But FSD had a few issues:
    8:12 Too close to the black car
    14:25 A late exit to the right. Not good!
    14:50 Narrator says 'car was trying to figure out how to make the merge'
    ............But FSD has 8 cameras, GPS, and very detailed maps. There should be no
    ............problem
    Narrator was surprised that FSD didn't slow for pigeons. That is because FSD has very poor vision when it comes to things in the road. For example: broken glass, potholes, a pool of water in the Lane after a rain, or even a ladder lying in the road. FSD will drive right over it. Another RUclips video tested that exact scenario.
    Today was an easy 5 mile drive. What if FSD was driving from New York to Boston, on a busy Friday evening? Or in the rain? That would be interesting to test.

    • @FSDinNYC
      @FSDinNYC  26 дней назад +3

      8:12 I don't see an issue with that one.
      Agreed the late merge should have been done better.
      Pigeons, I don't think the car should slow down at all. NYC pigeons act like they own the place! But actual obstacles it definitely should.
      Overall I appreciate the high standards, but I could not have driven that route better myself. But I do agree and want to test it in many more scenarios and repeat routes to prove consistency.
      Yesterday FSD failed to yield to an ambulance. I'll post it soon 😊

    If someone is sitting in the driver seat, that's not a robotaxi. That's Level-2 vehicle. Until Tesla comes up with a Level-4 vehicle, there is no guarantee that Tesla will ever be successful in robotaxis.

    • @FSDinNYC
      @FSDinNYC  24 дня назад +4

      I called this drive a robotaxi trip because I did not have to help the car drive at all. I could have sat in the back seat. But to be a true robotaxi, Tesla will have to drive like this countless times.
