This is a tribute for the jewl of my childhood animation series. And probably to everyone who were born in early/begin of 90s and was fortunate to see it, hold this series close to their hearts like I do.
Well, it was my intention to release this video way before. Somewhere around before november, but because since I'm in the army, I don't have that much time.

This is beautiful. I love how the music and the video itself gives it a melancholy feel. I absolutely adore the Moomins. Even though I didn’t grow up watching them (as I wasn’t born until the mid 90s), it wasn’t until I was about 17 when I first discovered them and I’ve loved these characters ever since. 😊
I was born in the late 90s but I grew up watching this Moomin because this Moomin is the classic and gets rerun multiple times in my home country, Finland.
I`ve never seen every episode, so I missed this one to. but the saddest thing is when snufkin gives his harmonica to moomin, as if he`s not coming back and is leaving a part of who he is behind in moomin valley.
Yes and as if his happy memories are aĺl wrapped up inside that harmonica.
The winter is my favourite time of year as it has a subtle beauty about it that every one forgets and hides from.
Agreed. I also love winter. Winter is silent time for me. You can hear your thinking better, when the nature sleeps around you. And you can enjoy winter, if you have enough warm equipment.

Winter is coming and they ain't just a Moomin words
I swear, this video made me cry a considerable amount, especially when the piano bit played. Watching the episodes that feature Snufkin either talking about leaving soon or (especially) the initial moment when he’s leaving for the winter make me wanna hug him even more. It’s such a big world out there, with some folks not being the nicest in the world. I remember having a nightmare about Snufkin getting badly beaten up by some ruffians he runs into on his travels. I also remember absolutely bawling watching the episode when Snufkin gives Moomin his harmonica so Moomin can play it whenever he thinks of Snufkin. Snufkin also said in that episode that he’ll always come back to see Moomin in the spring. That final shot where Snufkin is seen slowly walking into the mist made me cry even more. I took it as a sign that Snufkin wouldn’t be coming back for the spring. To put it bluntly, I thought that Snufkin was going to die.
This show is so wholesome, yet there are moments that are so emotional. Especially rather quiet and calm ones with Snufkin in them. He’s just so calm and cool and collected. He’s mindful, considerate, helpful, mature, intelligent, wise, kind, compassionate, and talented. He likes to be alone, but he also likes to hang out with his friends. The lonely part about Snufkin always makes me feel tender. I really don’t know why I feel tender whenever Snufkin is seen all alone and calm, but it’s probably because I feel sorry for him. He’s comfortable with his solitary and nomadic nature, and he doesn’t really show any signs of weakness. It seems so lonely, you’d think that Snufkin might cry after being alone for such a long time. But he doesn’t. However, he may feel a bit down when he has to leave for the winter because he’s leaving the place he spends 3/4ths of the year in. And now, double the emotional factor with the fact that Snufkin in the latest adaptation of The Moomins called “Moominvalley” has social anxiety and fears of being forgotten and abandoned by Moomin. I highly recommend you watch it!

Oh my God this is gorgeous and haunting. I guess his happy summer memories are all wrapped up inside his harmonica. I love this so much. 💜

I just one day, around 2007-08 started to check out Moomin stuff on RUclips, and then suddenly had an AMAZING IDEA! I always LOVED the OST, so I should try to find it!
And when I was able to find this and listen without any background sounds, I started to cry while listening this. This is my TOP1 song in Moomins!

This is from the last episode of "Season 1". It is called "Going to South" (if I remember correctly). An episode that I call a PERFECT ending for this show. ^^

@@nevebranca6965 You are welcome, and from what I've seen, it is 78th episode. But it most certainly is hard to find unfortunately. As far as I know, there is no English dub of that episode. But it might be hidden somewhere. But I think there is at least with Japanese dub with English subtitles. I hope you can find the episode and hopefully this helps you out in someway. :)

It is from episode 78 "Going To South". Which I consider the REAL ending for this series, as after that was the Season 2 that wasn't... that great...
