super awesome song and version, but... the live version (Koningin) has a little slower groove and an absolutely haunting vocal delivery after the modulation where she breaks her voice at the end of the tag line twice in a row to a high harmonic (barely audible)... it sounds all music-snobby or something when i try to describe it, but it cuts through my chest and into my soul when i hear it... that legendary version is also on this channel. well done Hooverphonic, well done.
that is for me the best part. i would like if i had that controled break in my own vocals. Actualy the first version that i heard was that and i was so dissapointed to hear others where there is no break...

i know Hooverphonic did not do well in ESC 2021 but come on guys, it was such a pleasure to have them there plus they don't need ESC to make a career and being loved by people ( no hate for the other participants , i loved many of them and respect all of them ) Hooverphonic are Hooverphonic , end of story.

Heard this song in a promo on PBS for Masterpiece had to find it. Incredible song wish I had heard of Hooverphonic sooner, this sing is very reminiscent of Portishead, fantastic fantastic song.

YES!!! this is the video version i remember from back in the day! Heard it again on The Umbrella Academy and it made me so happy. when i looked it up the creepy plant video popped up. But this is the version i remember which played on MTV Europe in 2000.
