I had surgery to remove 1 on my left frontal lobe and still have 1 on my right frontal lobe. The one on the right is in an area, unless absolutely necessary, they will not remove. I have been suffering with seizures with the AVM.
@@lisal4573 my mum has seizures and also muscle weakness numbness down one side etc she is very nervous and doesn't leave her house now. How are the doctors treating you? What medication do they prescribe and does it work? My mum had gamma knife and it's only worked 70% so they want to do it again to get the remainder.
@@LAW-Automotive I’m what doctors call an enigma. Medicines for seizures haven’t worked, I’m allergic to pain meds, I’m on blood pressure meds to help. I am diagnosed with AV malformation in Utres.. and now i am 7 month pregnant.. i just scared of my delivery.. please pray for me guyz from Kerala... Thank u... 😞🙏
Did you have any symptoms? I have problems with eyes being misaligned and got a MRI done and doctor noticed a avm in my brain. I'm seeing another doctor in August
I got told that I have an AVM on my brain last Friday, so now I’m waiting for a CT Scan, then after that having Surgery, just the waiting game now just freaking a bit cause it will be my first brain surgery in 5/6 years
I collapsed on 6-12-21 and suffered a bleed on my brain and they done an MRI and realised I had a AVM so they put me in a coma and rushed me for emergency surgery. Then on 25-3-22 I had another surgery to remove the rest of the AVM and then put a titanium plate in my skull
I was diagnosed with a brain AVM in 2003. I consulted 3 specialists. Mass General, UVA, and Columbia Presbyterian. All were foaming at the bit to treat my AVM with surgery or gamma ray, except for Dr. Solomon at Columbia which said leaving it untreated was an option. The option I chose. And here I am 17 years later commenting on youtube. My choice may not be right for everyone, but there is another option.
@@samuelmeghnathan8072 I was diagnosed with my AVM because I had a grand mal seizure. My one and only seizure thank god. Because of the seizure I have been on anti-convulsants since 2003 and will be for the rest of my life. The reason being according to my neurologist, the AVM likely caused the seizure, so it's a preventive. Not everyone that has a seizure has to be on meds forever. Hope that helps.
@@quickflip7185 my mom having am avm since her birth now she is 45 and and before 4 years she suffered with internal bleeding in her head doctor suggest we need to tackel this avm in 4 steps like surgery embolization etc,but we went to banglore and there doctors suggest that surgery is an not an option because avm is to large,so they told us take her home and don't go for surgery there is more risk in this so we went home now 4 years completed and she's fine....from 2017 she's taking bp tablet and levipil 500 mg I don't what to do right now should we stop that tablet intake by consulting doctor??..
Hi there, I have an AVM on the lateral side of my right eyelid above my eyelashes. It seems to get bigger as the years have gone on. I am so tired of jumping from different docs because they can’t just send me to the right place. Do you have recommendations as to where I could go? I live in MN, please help.
What about cerebellar avm? The back of my head has gotten more swollen in the past week. I found out last week by my pcp that its what I have through an mri. I have an appointment on the 30th for a video call with a neurologist. But the pain I'm going through and the migrains are just getting worse and worse. All my symptoms. Tell me more about that kind of avm.
A month back my right thigh was scanned through an mri and it said that I have an avm in my right thigh. It never bothered me... the docs said just because it's there doesn't mean we need to operate it. If it bothers me then we could do a surgery. That's what he said. So like for the past 2 days ive been feeling a little pain in the area. I could walk it it never palms but when I relax the muscles it sometimes pains me. Should I contact the doctor for the surgery or is it normal if I would be careful? Would there be a bad effect if I prolong the surgery longer?
hey, i have avm from birth on left knee cap and it causes me some issues and dont know how i am gonna treat it but will see what the lord has for me but in your case dont do surgery if no major issue and watch it if it gets bigger and when it does and you decide to do surgery, i have found online, radiation is the best way and no risk.
My mum has an avm actual 3 which resulted in 2 strokes. She had gamma knife already but only 2 part was affected 1 part is remaining. She has non epileptic seizures about 10 per day since having gamma knife which is apparently a rare side effect. She also has muscle weakness and restrictions for movement, swelling of limbs etc. The doctor say this has nothing to do with the avm at all, which we think is incorrect. The Doctors don't know how to treat her and it been 3yrs now. She is getting worse every week and doesn't leave the house. Any advice you can give to treat this please I beg for your help.

It's most common in the brain and most spectacular, as it has the most severe consequences. However I agree that other types of AvMs are often left out of the discussion altogether, and people still suffer from AvMs in extremities, Uterus, Lungs ect.

Might want to check if she has HHT.
Does a patent foramen ovale qualify as an AV malformation?
Why is the assumption that AVM only occurs in the brain?
Yeah I have it in the knee and I want to know more but sometimes they don’t tell me it’s for the brain and I get scared when mines not that serious
