I'm really starting to get an urge to try shaving my neck with a straight razor, as that's the only part that I shave!!! Lol

Forestwalker111 haha I agree with Ray, below. It turns shaving from a chore, into a real luxurious event. These days I cant wait for my hair to grow out to use my razors again! :D I've thought about shaving my neck with it, but a little nervous as it makes for awkward hand placement! lol

Looks great! and thanks for the complements. I noticed you worked on your scales a bit after the peening job? They really look great, like to know what you did after? I have to say with a razor like that around I don't know how you have the self control to keep that beard! I'd be in the middle of shaving and accidentally take to much off one side then have to compensate on the other side until i'd end up with no beard at all! Just because its so much fun to shave with.

111raybartlett Thanks dude! and the compliments were well deserved! As for the scales, I used the felt wheel and #6 polishing compound! But that left a dry look, so I finished with a nice coat of mineral oil! I did have that struggle with shaving when I first started my beard! I'd trim a little extra on one side, then a little more on the other, and so on! haha I'm always back and forth on whether I want to keep the beard or shave clean! I do miss that full how lather and long gliding razor strokes... sigh...

What's with the soap stone fitted in between scales why not use same material as rest of scales? Beautiful work

Of course! I'll have a few evenings alone next week, so i'll have time to spare. Should take that amount of time for you to design and fabricate new scales.

That's the problem! i'm just not sure what I want, or where to get it! Well, I want wood! But, I want it to be something with a lot of different coloring. Something exotic. May have to order it... not sure. Know of anything?

    • @111raybartlett

Awesome! Preferably as much texture as possible. I've been looking at burl's online.
