JJ Redick has a high IQ for the game of basketball. The Lakers on the other hand have a reputation of throwing ppl under the bus when things aren't going to plan. Would love to see JJ coach another team apart from the Lakers, but it is what it is.
What evidence do you have that he has a high IQ for basketball relative to any average player? None, you’re just repeating what you hear on ESPN. Have an independent thought for once
@@Lip_Gallagher Having a podcast with Lebron James every other week is no easy feat. He's prob the best player to discuss basketball plays with. Very rarely do you see Lebron going on a podcast strictly talking about basketball plays unless his counterpart has a high IQ for the game of basketball. I also need to mention JJ's ability to communicate, strategies, and connect with players, which is why he took the job.

ESPN told me all last year that the Lakers could beat any team that is not the Nuggets, but now that their coworker is coach, making the playoffs is a good job? I’m not saying the Lakers are world beaters, but the consensus from ESPN has been a lie at some point in this timeline.
I believe JJ will surprise a lot of folks on what he will bring to the Lakers..He knows basketball and he will make the proper adjustments game to game..
Talk about Pelinka and the job he is doing as much as you talk about JJ and Lebron. How good of a job is the decision maker? The team we have now is based on the GM, how so good of a job is Pelinka doing?
I don't think the Lakers head coaching job is the hardest job in sports, no way. Just by the nature of basketball it isn't as hard as other sports like football or baseball. Strategy does count for something but in basketball there are only 5 players on the court, there's not as many moving pieces as football and not that many strategic decisions as in baseball. In basketball the players play the game with a lot more of their own discretion improvising. Star players will often disregard what a coach says and just run plays the way they feel like.
JJ's career is about to take a Serious Dive!!! The pressure in L. A. is going to be so unbelievable and he thinks he's big buddies with LeBron but LeBron is uncoachable and always has been and eventually it is going to ruin their friendship and he's going to get fired as a coach especially when they don't do good in the playoffs!!!
The Lakers entire goal this off-season has to be "how do we beat Denver?" Right now the Wolves are the only team in the West that can stand a chance with Denver. Lakers have to add size over a PG. AD is one of the best defenders in this era in the post and Jokic can do whatever he wants against AD. They need another big man to play with AD.
For years people have been complaining about retired players not coaching and not giving there knowledge back to the game.. Now years later the tables have turned and we have a problem with players coaching now? Tell them old mfs to move around, its a new NBA

JJ will be fine as long as the address the roster deficiencies and get healthy. Plenty of former players turned coaches have come in with no experience and done okay. Mark Jackson, Doc, Bird, Zeke and more came in with coaching anywhere else and all made playoff runs.
Last season was actually one of the few season where AD has been very healthy, so it probably would just go down from here. And the Lakers doesnt really have any asset nor cap space to upgrade their roster.
