Adam - First off I'm a long-time viewer and fan. Love your channel! I'm also a Charlotte native, born and bred! Just a couple of facts to compliment your video: -The first sign you showed was for The Chicken King, which used to have a killer lunch. -The clock tower in front of the Wells Fargo tower was completed in 1988. -The Dairy Queen and Eskimo Girl have been there on Wilkinson Blvd. since 1947. Thanks for showcasing Charlotte! It was so cool to see my hometown on your channel! Welcome to the Queen City and the Tarheel State!
As much as I go to Charlotte (going to IKEA today actually!) I never realized how interesting it was until now. You have the gift of turning simple things into wonder. You’re channel has turned into our favorite over these last few weeks, and we appreciate your perspective. You deserve a much needed break when you get home to Florida! God speed ATW, and praying you stay safe🙏🏼
I love these random rambles. Doesn’t matter where you go, you always find something interesting. Thanks! Hope you guys are having half as much fun as we are watching the adventures.
Creative Loafer - I like that job title. Who knew that filming and stating the obvious could be such a lucrative career. Where do I sign up? From my understanding, those objects on top of the building had nothing to do with the weather. Those are microwave antennas. Back in the day, long distance calls were handled through such a system. That is why those calls were so expensive. I’m sure those antennas are still in use for one reason or another.
🤣🤣🤣 "We're not getting an apartment together." Best laugh of the day!! Thanks for the Charlotte tour! I don't go to Charlotte anymore, can't deal with the traffic..lol
Yes, traffic is horrendous there. 485 was supposed to help with that, when it actually got worse. I remember when the made another lane and traffic would still get backed up (thanks to the Ballantyne area). I did part time work at a studio in Belmont a few years back and dreaded the traffic on 485. The more populated it gets, the traffic will only get worse.
This was another fun one, I loved all of it, and as these collabs with Scott on Tape wind down for now, I truly hope this is not the last we all see if this dynamic duo. :) Also I don't think Ive ever had an Orange Julius outside of a mall. One might even call that Dairy Queen an "autonomous unit for mid-town snacking". 😂. Ah im such a dork. I'll see myself out. Lol cheers
I absolutely love this partnership with Scott. This trip has been hands down my favorite and best work that you have done. I wish you would keep heading north. You rock Mr. Woo!
Another very interesting and ART FILLED vid! You are making me fall in love with N. Carolina, Adam! AND OMG-- SCOTT is HILARIOUS!!! He is like a cartoon character come to life! What comedy! ROFL! Thanks to you both!
I lived in Charlotte for 7 years. That shiny thing outside the art museum is affectionally known as the disco chicken. Its actually a bird like creature sitting on an arch but it looks like it has long legs and wearing disco pants. Its Charlottes most famous icon. Thanks for the trip down memory lane Adam.
When my son and his family lived in Florida, I almost always had to get a connecting flight in Charlotte. I could see the city skyline when landing and taking off from the airport. How nice to see bits of the city after seeing it from the air for a few years. Adam and Scott, I wish you both safe travels back to your respective homes as I’ve read this collaboration will be ending soon. I really hope you two get together on occasion and do some filming. This has been such a treat. I’d love to see Adam showing Scott around Florida and likewise Scott showing Adam around Canada.
Love it...Just a head's up...if you go to a coffee shop, ask for a Blonde coffee, A Blonde Roast has more caffeine. Ask for a shot or two of Esppresso...and see if you do not go to the Moon and back. I am no blondie,,,but a Cherokee, yet I have heard the lighter the roast of the beans, the more caffeine. is concentrated. YES,,,THE QUEEN CITY...I am in the process of writing a novel about it. I used to order all kinds of beans from the Net and grind them myself with an Amish-made grinder, and it was awesome...nothing co pares to the taste, and if you are seeking effects from caffeine, nothing compares to that. I have even thought about wruting a TV series script called ''Queen City''.
Just finished chapter 3 of The Queen City of my novel...I have serious brain fog. I guess I need one if those ''piping hot caffeinated beverages'' from...SOMEWHERE. Honestly...where does Adam the Woo get all his energy? It cannot all be from coffee. If it were, I would be sailing in mid air right now.
Hey Adam, something else I forgot to mention, if you took hwy 74 west going into Charlotte, you would've passed the Charlotte Coliseum (dome top), can't remember the exit number but, to the right is one of the T.V station (WJZY I think). Old Charlotte Hwy/7th St. run parallel with hwy 74. I used to live off Old Charlotte Hwy. If you head back east on 74, check out Monroe. It has a lot of historic homes (I used to live in one of them). There's the old Manetta Mills in Monroe (it used to be a textile mill til the mid 80's, it's a ghetto now sadly). It's cool to know you & Scott are on my old stomping grounds. Hope you 2 have fun, enjoy your visit & journey! Welcome to Charlotte, N.C!
I'm loving watching you guys together! Glad to see two beautiful men that are actually good human beings enjoying their lives!! And you share your awesome adventures! God bless you both. I Love you both. Stay safe🤗❤️🙏
Oh! I remember Creative Loafing! Wish they still had that local newsprint talking with the unique locals, seeing what indie bands were playing and seeing art of all kinds. Such a 90's nostalgia trip!
There's another feature of that parking garage. If you hit the panels in a certain order it will play music and perform a light show. I believe there's a plaque nearby with clues, but it obviously works much better at night.
The 17-foot-tall, 1,433-pound Firebird, hand-decorated with over 7,500 pieces of mirrored and colored glass, stands in front of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. It's supposed to be a representation of the Phoenix of Greek mythology, reflecting rebirth and renewal.
The "Weather Devices" are Microwave Communications Equipment placed there to transmit pone calls and television signals between towers that were miles apart. The tan building they're on is/was a telephone switching center.
Dude, this Canadian guy is holding you back. What does he have.. like 5 subscribers??? All north of Alaska?! Just kidding of course. You guys are awesome together. I see you are getting ready to head back....I feel a "walk and talk" coming soon.
Sidenote = Adam, this start to the year has been legendary. Really appreciate the work you're putting in. Tons of fun. Shout out to Scott on Tape, too. He's been a fun co-conspirator. You deserve the rest coming your way. Dig it.
My generation learned about the poet Ogden Nash because his poetry was in our schoolbook anthologies. That, sadly, may be missing for the generation of the DailyWoo.
You missed the disc that is seen in the last minute or so at the end of Hellraiser 3. It's at the intersection of Trade and Tryon. Also, actor Randolph Scott is buried in the Uptown Charlotte cemetery.
I live in Charlotte and Billy Graham’s boyhood home was moved brick by brick from where you were to of all places the previous place you were, Heritage USA. After the fall of PTL it was then moved again, brick by brick to the Billy Graham Library off Billy Graham Parkway in Charlotte…..The building with the “weather” antennas is actually an original AT&T switching station that is still occupied by AT&T.
Yall missed the retro dinner on south Tryon and the world global that is a big stone and it spins its across from the Carolina panther stadium. Great vlog guys .👍
OK, how many of you Certified Old Goobers and Goobetts who either grew up in or around Charlotte recall the infamous "Gumby" work of art? Don't be shy....You know as well as I do that nobody ever really figured out what it was supposed to be.
Another enjoyable video, I look forward to your adventures. The sign posts at the library show names of famous authors. Ogden Nash was a poet known for writing light verse. One of my favorites is entitled The Cow. "The cow is of the bovine ilk; One end is moo, the other, milk"

Sad to hear your NC adventures are coming to a close. It's been fun watching them as I grew up and lived in NC most of my life (moved away years ago). I've also enjoyed Scott's company as he seems to be having a blast with you. Will be rewatching these again here soon!
I feel bad for the elephant 🐘 as well as the trainer. Maybe he didn't mean to stomp the trainer. That's horrible parading it around the city like that. You and Scott seem to be having a great time together. Thanks for bringing me with you.
Welcome to Charlotte. Yes there are definitely random things here. I am from Charlotte and I know all the places you have been ,but the memorial to the guy trampled by the elephant is new to me. The Billy Graham memorial is located off Park road, his family dairy farm covered a large portion of that area.
I'm a big fan of both you and Scott snd would've loved to show you around. I'm disappointed in weeks of trying to reach you from your initial Instagram post asking for locals to help and never getting a response here, there, or even if you were getting my messages either way, even for the supportive daily cardio post. I also tried to help you with free advice on how to burn 300% more bodyfat just switching the order of what you were already doing. I'm a certified trainer and nutritionist and been in tons of movies and TV, many of which mentioned as your favorite movies like Talladega Nights and Days of Thunder, along with living here all my life for over 43 years so to not respond at all for any thanks for the help, not interested or yes, I got your messages would've been greatly appreciated. You did find people who hadn't been to where you were, couldn't pronounce the town and were somehow able to get in touch.
Truthfully this is part of the reason It’s easier to just roll solo . Someone will always be upset even tho I attempted to get together with locals . Wading thru messages , filming , traveling and editing every day doesn’t make it easy to get ahold or respond to everyone who contacts me . Sorry for you disappointment

When I saw it, a few years ago.....my impression was that it is a Phoenix bird..... the city has a wonderful modern art museum
My 1st impression was of a disco cockatoo on it's shiny perch.

They chose Ogden and Nash because of Ogden Nash, the famous poet of humorous verse! Zane Grey wrote many Western novels!
