This scene is one of the first to really muddle the morality of Silent Hill as a town. This Lisa, who is nothing but a manifestation of Alessa's opinion of the ACTUAL Lisa, is an innocent and sentient person. A similar thing happens with Maria, who was "born from a wish". The town of Silent Hill has the ability to create SENTIENT LIFE, so who's to say some of these monsters aren't also terrified of this entire situation. Imagine waking up and realizing that your entire body is wrapped in skin and the only way you can call for help is by spitting acid through a gash in your chest.
Yes, SH has that sort of power. However, it's possible that these manifested beings exist only within Fog/Otherworld reality. It's a bit ambiguous though, since James supposedly leaves the town WITH Maria in one of the SH2 endings
@JBT That's an understandable theory, however Ito himself has confirmed that Lisa died before the events of SH1, most likely from an overdose. It was implied in both SH1 and SH3, and then expanded upon in a comic series that Ito helped create.
This scene is sad especially after looking into the lore. Lisa was a prisoner forced to be Alessa's nurse for years, keeping her alive while an abomination grew in her body. She was drugged and forced by kaufman to stay in the basement of the basement with Alessa enduring hallucinations of hellish blood and bile. Then when Harry finds her, she thinks she's safe... runs to him, trusts him and because of him, remembers her past... that she is now just one of the pawns of that town... and there's nothing you can do to save or help.

Easily the best scene in the entire game. Left me utterly speechless and heartbroken. Silent Hill is a great game throughout, but this scene alone brings it to masterpiece status. Everything from the movement to the music is perfectly executed and ended up as something I will never forget.
Playing this game for the first time ever and felt this exact way last night after watching the cut scene. I just don't know how to describe that moment fully. Sad, scary, ugly... traumatic? It was one of the most horrible things I'd ever seen in a game. I couldn't do anything to stop it. I was so helpless and so was she, and she begged for help I couldn't give... it horrified me.
This song. This. Fucking. Song. Despite never playing _ANY_ Silent Hill games (minus a quick bit of the first PS1 game), this song has stuck with me as one of my favorite songs since 2019. I know nothing about this song's place in the game, but it resonates with me anyway. This song explains my nostalgia in 16 notes. I love this.
I played through the first SH a month and a half ago and I was using a guide since I've never played it before, thankfully it was cryptic enough to not spoil anything major, but I did not expect what happened to Lisa to happen. To listen to her cry out from behind the door only to go in and see she's no longer anywhere to be found was... haunting, to say the very least. Man, what an incredible game...
A dark world far ahead A light left behind A world left in ashes This is my world I Wake up in the morning and i go to sleep at night And all that time i wonder, How many will die today how many will be left? Hello, My name is Trunks, and this... is my story.
Ive never played Silent hill, but heard this song in an Iceberg video and for some reason find it to be calming and beautiful. Something about this song really just reminds me of my childhood. Its been 10 years since ive seen any of my best friends. I haven't spoken to them in over 10 years. As time moves on, ive started to forget what they look like, sound like. Ive even forgotten some of their names. I hope wherever they are in the world they are doing ok and well. Im at the end of my teenage years and it really scares me how much time has passed from then, to now. Sometimes i wonder how did it go so fast without me even noticing? And the answer to that is one i have yet to discover. To my long lost friends, wherever it is that you reside in the world, i hope you are ok and your families are ok.
Akira Yamaoka & Nobuo Uematsu are the absolute best at creating an absolute feel for a moment that will stick with you forever. Both did it with minimal audio technology in their day. Masters of their art.
Bernardo Pereira Batata ϟϟ Vincent makes this stab saying "They look like monsters to you?" then Heather has her realization that she's killed a tonne of people. Mixed with the second ending to the game where you have to kill every enemy and get hit by each of them at least once where Heather kill Douglas and goes off to leave Silent Hill. Ever question why a detective was after her?
crazy to think that one day we will all ceaze to exist and won't ever listen to any of the silent hill music ever again, let's just appreciate the little things while we're still here. "tomorrow is a hope. Never a promise" today we may have a tomorrow but one day....no

I must have been 15 or 16 when I first played this and when this song played and she began bleeding profusely I just sat there crying and couldn't move for like 10 minutes. This song still brings a hint of that initial pain from all those years ago
So, I am writing a story, and there's supposed to be a death scene. This song inspires me to imagine how the death scene will be like... I actually love how different songs bring us that kind of feelings... EDIT (09-05-22): Holy shit I didn't expect this comment to have this many likes
I've completed it, but I'd still like to rework on it someday. Also been planing to use it as atmosphere to another fictional work but I never got the time to write it. Thankfully, through these last years I've matured a lot of ideas. Would like to pen it officially someday...
I never thought it was possible for a piece of music to make you feel so many things at once: Pain, nostalgia and eeriness. I truly get emotional with this masterpiece.
This topic in the Latin community of many fandoms had an impact if we talk about good Creepypastas distributed during 2009 and 2013, this topic for me, I was just a little child listening to this with a narrator from Loquendo in the Red Godzilla Creepypasta, it was simply my introduction to this world of mystery and terror. ❤
this song was the first silent hill song that I’ve been currently learning on my guitar, and even still. Everytime I listen to the sadness of the song on my guitar, I remember that cutscene of her.
I think the lesson when Lisa pulls Kaufman back into the distortion is that Kaufman might have made the right decision when he decided to help at the end, but he was still a sinner, and to me, that’s one of the more heartbreaking moments in all of the game.
I have never played silent hill (watched some lore videos about it though) and yet here I am crying. It is a melancholy sorrow though. It's very odd, I feel happy and yet here I am crying. I love how the comments range from 5 years ago to last week.
The utter power silent hill has to make these somber songs instead of scary ones is amazing. Akira is a genius for making this music
I wish spotify had the original soundtrack of silent hill 1.
You can find anything related to songs in the RUclips music.
@@clearty5071 not entirely tho, less say the extended version
Use RUclips premium and loop the song

Yeah true........
Things will never be the same.
Ever
Barbi Avi "Once the storm is over, you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is for certain: once you come out of the storm, you won't be the same person who walked in."
- Haruki Murakami
I love how subtle Lisa's transformation is, like she still looks the same only now with a limping gait and blood spreading down her face
This song is like life itself. Mostly sad, but with the small signs of happiness and hope.
I just don't know how to describe that moment fully. Sad, scary, ugly... traumatic? It was one of the most horrible things I'd ever seen in a game. I couldn't do anything to stop it. I was so helpless and so was she, and she begged for help I couldn't give... it horrified me.
I started listening to this as soon as I found out Silent Hills was cancelled.
Massive disappointment tbh
#FuckKonami
The franchise still lives on in Dead By Daylight at least.
@@EvilLordCanas In hindsight, the DbD expansions should have been a sign. Silent Hill is alive again. It's been five months I'm still in disbelief.
This song. This. Fucking.
I love this.
i never played silent hil, only watched a bit of gameplay of this silent hill game, but never reached to lisa's first meeting
A dark world far ahead
A light left behind
A world left in ashes
This is my world
I Wake up in the morning
and i go to sleep at night
And all that time i wonder,
How many will die today
how many will be left?

Forgive me, Lisa. There's a monster inside you.
Then it's revealed in Silent Hill 3 that ever monster is a human desperately trying to defend themselves.
realy ?????
Bernardo Pereira Batata ϟϟ Vincent makes this stab saying "They look like monsters to you?" then Heather has her realization that she's killed a tonne of people. Mixed with the second ending to the game where you have to kill every enemy and get hit by each of them at least once where Heather kill Douglas and goes off to leave Silent Hill.
Ever question why a detective was after her?
Ditto, Master of Disguise However, Vincent is exactly the sort of man who gets an ego boner from fucking people's minds like that.
Ditto, Master of Disguise wow i didn't know thanks and wow (again) that so mind blow for me
crazy to think that one day we will all ceaze to exist and won't ever listen to any of the silent hill music ever again, let's just appreciate the little things while we're still here.
"tomorrow is a hope. Never a promise"
today we may have a tomorrow but one day....no

no matter how sad this song makes me feel i have to listen to it....it's beautiful.....so painfully beauiful
Me too friend 😔
less a death that happened and more a death that you know is about to happen?

Do you finished your story?
I've completed it, but I'd still like to rework on it someday.
Also been planing to use it as atmosphere to another fictional work but I never got the time to write it. Thankfully, through these last years I've matured a lot of ideas. Would like to pen it officially someday...
One of the best songs on the SH1 soundtrack. And the first song I ever learned to play on guitar. 8D
Such a pretty song Cat.
"LISA.."
Joyful
Painful...
???...
YOU'RE TEARING ME APART LISA ;-;
If this isn’t played at my funeral, I’m not going
I never thought it was possible for a piece of music to make you feel so many things at once: Pain, nostalgia and eeriness. I truly get emotional with this masterpiece.
This track will never fail to bring me to tears.
This track hits like a fucking truck, and has done so since I was 14 when I first played this game. This scene always stuck with me.
Man, the combination of her death scene and this track just fit perfectly together in the most depressing way. What a terrible way to go out
this song was the first silent hill song that I’ve been currently learning on my guitar, and even still.
I feel as though a great burden has been lifted from my shoulder. I am crying, but I am happy. To whoever is reading this, I hope you feel even more happy than I do. Have a wonderful day.
This song has been stuck in my head ever since I heard it for the first time last night playing the game
It's a gut punch that truly hurts when we learn about Lisa. She's a innocent victim who never deserves such a cruel and tragic fate. We can save Cybil, we can't save Lisa, even if we wanted to. I'm sorry Lisa. 😢
Well at the end of Silent Hill 3 the otherworld of Alessa's is "erased", so Lisa's spirit can move on from there yea??...🤔
This song used to play in a lot of creepypastas, and it made me sad rather than scared
facts this song just makes me want to cry
Whenever it starts at 0:57 it's like this sadness of relief in me.. It's like the truth will set you free, kind of vibe it gives me.
August 1st, 2021 my dog died.

Sorry, just had to say it to someone if anyone see's. Thank you♥️
I'm so sorry for your loss!

Why do u gotta make me cry...
Tomorrow doesn't exist.
+Hugh MacEachern not yet, anyway
+sharon Tomorrow will never exist. It's not tomorrow today like I thought it would be yesterday. It's just Today today. You wait, when tomorrow comes, it'll just be today again.

+sharon Thanks. It seemed fitting at the time lol

this nostalgic feeling hits me every time
I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’re not anymore.
it would be more painful to "knowing you're living good days and it will be disappear soon"
God just got to this part in the game earlier and it’s the only piece of media to make me tear up
Whenis Silent Hills coming out?

@Jimmy De'Souza Look at Death Stranding, that's straight up some silent hill shit.
I played Silent Hill when i was 9yo, i'm 35yo now and this song still haunts me to this day.
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it in my first playthrough of Silent Hill so long ago.
I have so many sad memories with this soundtrack. Yet, I find comfort in listening to it.

still not today, maybe tomorrow.
I've never played this game but this music makes me feel things. An urge of tears swelling.. Thank you Akira
Until I finally found it after two years of searching, what a beautiful song 🥺🥺

This theme is so beautiful and sad! I just learned to play it on the piano and i really can't stop playing it!
Sad and creepy
Only sad.

Stood up and clapped when I heard this line
si tienes razon relaja y te hace sentir bien

Alexito309 TheSkyfarlander si, relajan y yo me duermo escuchandolas jaja
bueno si a cierto punto de relajacion xD
I got recommended when New Silent hill confirmed cant wait
i jst want to say, this song remember me wen i say goodbye to my friends of a school because i was changing of shcool, and my teacher, in the car of my mom i can't evade crylling, i still missing them ;(
I only saw some Let's play/walktrough and all cutscenes from Silent Hill, but when I saw that scene with Lisa... my heart is almost broken now :(
This is so beautiful. It makes me tear up a little bit every time I hear it.
Man, this game has the best soundtracks, I swear :,) if I hadn't been so scared of playing this game when I was younger, I would have enjoyed it more.
This touches my soul . When I was a kid this song used to get me in such nostalgical mood all the way until today. Sometimes I'd like to project myself into Silent Hill and walk through the desolated and overcast city w this song in the background .
