    You are SO CLEVER. The high/low hem skirt is so smart and cute and the way you gathered the ruffle - Wow. I didn't know about the high tension long stitch method. The stabilization is so smart. I am so nervous about messing with my tension. I've been sewing for years but my formative years I sewed on a frustrating machine with no direction. I really appreciate your knowledge, creativity, and confidence.

    How fun! It felt like a thriller movie, the suspense of bring able to topstitch with only a little bit of thread left. The skirts are so pretty and different. I also enjoyed the ideas how to make a skirt with a small piece of fabric. Thanks for posting all the details and processes!

    HI Love the skirts and I have a question about the elastic. It has been many years since I did one with rows stitched on top.. doesn't this stretch the elastic and it is no longer tight enough? Did you have to cut it shorter than normal for that reason? And do you use the same stitch length or a longer one ? Thanks Karina 😃 🇨🇦

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  4 года назад +1

      The elastic is cut about 3” shorter than the waist. If it’s good quality it won’t stretch out that much. I’ve used terrible elastic before where it does. I suppose that’s where the drawstring comes into play. In my case this didn’t stretch and it’s comfortable. I wouldn’t want it tighter. I use 3.5 to topstitch.
