You are SO CLEVER. The high/low hem skirt is so smart and cute and the way you gathered the ruffle - Wow. I didn't know about the high tension long stitch method. The stabilization is so smart. I am so nervous about messing with my tension. I've been sewing for years but my formative years I sewed on a frustrating machine with no direction. I really appreciate your knowledge, creativity, and confidence.
How fun! It felt like a thriller movie, the suspense of bring able to topstitch with only a little bit of thread left. The skirts are so pretty and different. I also enjoyed the ideas how to make a skirt with a small piece of fabric. Thanks for posting all the details and processes!
Love this as I am a big skirt wearer . It’s my number one as they are the most suitable for my Apple shape . Love all your skirt videos too. Love what you do as you are an excellent teacher . This comes from a former teacher . 🤗🤗🤗
I’m not a skirt wearer, but wow! I used a structured knit left over from a cardigan. I love it! Going to try some of the style options. Karina, your videos are timeless. A valuable resource for sewists.
Oh I’m afraid I’d get judgmental comments if I show all my shoes. I have quite the collection. I have good quality wearable shoes, no big brands and my aim is to wear them comfortably.
Just love your videos, great inspirations, you always come up with such original ideas. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. You always look so gorgeous too. Thank you
Wonderful video! Even though it was a bit longer, the time flew by! I liked getting to see three variations in one video! They are all three very beautiful! So creative! I like the fake button placket idea and will use that for sure!
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles I absolutely loved it! Like you indicated at the beginning, we watch TV shows this long all the time like it's nothing. This was not just entertaining, it was educational and inspirational! 👍
I love watching your videos, Karina! I just watched the allegro skirt video AFTER I sewed my second allegro skirt. I chuckled because you did the same thing as I did with the waistband…trimming off the edge after sewing the front and back together. Great minds! 😁 Thank you for sharing your talents!
I have this pattern and am very thankful to see you detail the work on the waistband. It is simply amazing that you find ways to create a variety of looks with each item you make and that you are so prolific in making a multitude of patterns every month. Thank you for sharing your techniques, they are a huge help.
That last ruffled version is just gorgeous on you! I have never sew ruffles that way by adjusting the machine.. always done the basting stitch and "pull" method. I'm definitely going to try this out! Thank you so much!
Oh thank you! people told me but I didn't feel right. It's the style that I like for maxis, simple, less volume but I know I'll stay with the shorter skirts as I've been my whole life :)
You inspire me to be a better sewer and to try new things! The pink floral sold skirt sold me on the pattern so I clicked on the link and bought one. Great job Karina👍
There is so much in this video that excites my creative brain. I love love love the pink and blue - so pretty! I love the "button band" - clever and cute! I wondered why you added 3 inches to the pattern when you might have just used one of the longer lengths but I am not familiar with this pattern. I skipped it because I like a waistband at my natural waist - but you took care of that! I'm only ⅔ through so I might have more to say later, but for now - thank you! excellent video!
You are so talented. Really such a joy and inspiration to watch you work, to see your thought processes. I’m about to sew some allegro skirts for summer so have been gathering ideas and techniques from other sewers. I think I might ‘ steal’ your faux center button band. 🙂
loved your video - I'm in the process of adding a yoga waistband and a ruffle to a skirt! And I've just finished watching the previous video on the allegro pants. All so helpful!
I love your video's! They inspire me to try to get my patterns out in less fabric, now I can make multiple things out of the fabric I bought! And your videos are so informative! I do love maxi dresses though, I feel like they are better than short dresses when it's really hot.
Karina, I just love these skirts on you. My favorite is your remake of the long skirt. It is so feminine & beautiful!!!! Your hacks or remakes are always my favorites!!!! I feel long skirts look 1960's/Hippie-like on me. I was born in '61, so I just can't do it. I agree, I never dislike them on anyone else. Take care and God Bless.
I’ve always loved how they look great on others but mum and I have never been able to wear them. We’ve gone into shops and tried maxi dresses and skirts and nope. I need my legs free just as I love my arms free lol.
Love your makes! Great video content! I am inspired to give your Maxi hack a try!! I've only made the shorts with the older pattern. I like the idea of a higher rise. I had to add to the rise on my shorts. Clever idea of the fake button placket for your denim skirt! Loved the pink one too!
I probably would not buy this pattern but what you demonstrate and then show the garment on you makes me want to buy the pattern! Thank you for your video and teaching😊
