When life got in the way several years ago, I completely stopped sewing. ~ Your channel popped up the other day, and I've found myself binge watching your videos. Now, I can't wait to start again because watching you has ignited a spark in my creativity.
Whitney- With so much on your plate at the moment I'm always amazed at how much you bring to the sewing community. This style of video and your fabric/pattern combos are what I head for when I'm in a rut or in danger of losing my mojo. As always, thank you so much for sharing and inspiring us all.
I LOVE THIS STYLE OF VIDEO!!!! I've saved it for future reference. Instead of your "Sew the Look" segments you now have "Sew the Hack"! I really really appreciate this type of vlog as the Love Notions pictures aren't very inspiring. I have a few of their patterns and like them very much. Really love your idea's and would be so happy if u did more 😊
HINT: for the green Arlington Sweater, I think crochet sleeves would be so perfect this season. Knit the body of the sweater, cuffs, and neck band, and then crochet the sleeves. This is the best inspiration video. Thank you, Whitney. ~ L
The Love Notions blog has a tutorial for adding side ties plus doing a slash and spread on the sleeves while making them long. I used it for a semi-formal dress for my daughter. It was so easy & turned out great! Love all your ideas Whitney!
I have been looking forward to this sale forever!! My boys asked me to do some sewing for them (be still my heart) so I'll be loading up on every single boy pattern!!
The Ballad blouse made into the lightweight fabric dress with the short full sleeves and the skirt without the buttons is absolutely stunning. A must have. Thank you for sharing such a great idea.
I love this video, so full of inspiration, I’ m taking notes for my next makes, Id love to see the tessa and sybil hack, or how one calculates the space for the zipper for example, thanks so much for your videos 🙏🏻👌🏻
The wonderful thing is I already own all of these patterns you featured. Can’t wait to get started on some of these looks. Thank you for the inspiration.
Love all the hacks, too many I love to list but the stand out for me is definitely the Ballad Blouse hack with the elbow length sleeve with ruffle using shirting along with the tired skirt attached💜💜💜💜💜 great video as always...
I've just bought the ballad blouse and the Arlington as I'll be able to get so many looks for every season. Best of all they have full bust fronts. Thanks for highlighting the versatility of all these patterns, my fingers are now itching to stitch.
I especially loved all your ideas for hacking the Aria. I've never had any good luck with using a blouse pattern without darts, but I do have a TNT blouse pattern that I could use. The Harmony hack with the long flounce at the bottom in gorgeous, in the right fabric, of course. Mostly I love your enthusiasm for creating / recreating beautiful things. This was a really good inspiration video for me. Thank you!
Thank you for showing this podcast. It will make you think about hacking a pattern you have not tried. I love, love your White Andrin Blouse with Eyelet sleeves. I love the idea of using lace around the sleeves and on the bottom. Love, love the Tessa and the Sybil skirt have so many variations.. This podcast has jumped started your creative side of your brain.
Love your videos - patterns, hacks, sewing techniques, etc. Also since I am 5'2" and like more tailored/classic style you give me tons of ideas. Thank you.
Great video with so many ideas. I think I'll start with the Arlington hacks but I'll definitely come back to this video for ideas in the future. Look forward to your instructional videos on how to do these.
Brilliant inspiration, thank you. Found your channel about a month ago and have been binge watching! Lovely to find someone who is enthusiastic about sewing and making clothes, thanks
I am so glad I found you on RUclips! Love all your hacking ideas. I really want to try so bad. I used to sew for myself in the 70's, 80's and really love to sew. I have made a goal of making 60% of my clothes in 2023....we'll see, at 73 my shape has changed a bit the biggest change is losing my waist. Love the Tessa, but would want a below knee version with some variation on hem and more of a casual look, for living at the beach in NC. Just concerned as it looks more fitted. OK, looking forward to following and learning more. Take care
Fantastic video, inspired me to buy the Aria, Ballard and Sybil. I never wear dresses even though I love the look of them, I am determined to make some for this coming summer season. Thanks for the code 10 percent really helped. ❤
I would love to see some of the sleeve hacks where the ruffle is below the elastic. I would also like to see the ruffle hacks on the bodice of the Tesa.
