I have autism and experiencing loud noises for long periods of time nonstop can cause me to become extremely distressed. Does this mean that babies and children shouldn’t be allowed on the plane because it distresses me? No! Of course not! As much as I don’t like it, I have to learn to cope and deal with the situation if I want to ride a plane. I will take my earbuds or consider getting noise canceling headphones like a normal person instead of being entitled enough to expect other people to change for me. Yep! I use to be very obese! Still got a ways to go. However even if I lose all this weight I’m still a 6 foot 6 Polynesian. So being a small normal sized person will never be an option for me hahaha but I never once thought that “they need to make bigger seats”, “halls and doorways should be taller for me” or “clothes my size should be cheaper”. Because firstly, people my size make up a very small percentage of the US and especially the world. So why would the world accommodate me when the chances of someone being built like me are so small?! And making clothes my size requires more material hence the higher prices! You adjust and you adapt.

As an airline employee, we do not get paid enough to push someone twice or even triple our size. If we cannot push you, we will tell you so. If we cannot fit you with a chair in an aisle and physically be able to push you, we will not. At the end of the day, we have thousands upon thousands of passengers to deal with and we will not walk around with back pain all day due to struggling push someone who’s big like her down the plane aisle. She already has to deal with buying 2 seats and getting an extender. Something’s gotta give with her. If she’s unhappy, then maybe she should make enough money to buy a private jet. She is not the first person who’s plus sized to act like this towards us when we cannot push them.

100%, I'm plus size (not her size, mind--I don't need a seatbelt extender) and I would legit never want someone to push me, tbh. When I was a kid I cut my foot open and had to be pushed around the ER to get stitches and I was so embarrassed.
It's also dangerous for someone to have to push someone this woman's size.

@@Freya_The_Druid You do realize Lupus is a disability right?? It is considered a disability under the Social Security Administration (SSA), you can find out more information from the Lupus Foundation Of America website on support or resources you may be entitled to. Your doctor should have made you aware that this is considered a disability and you may be entitled to support and resources.
If you are not from the US contact a local Lupus charity or Auto-Immune charity as they may be able to direct you to support and resources in your area or seek information from your local governments website about disability support and services as they can best direct you on steps you need to take to obtain the assistance you are entitled too.
It maybe you are entitled to support and even backwards support for the time you should have been receiving assistance as well as free or subsidized services you can access in your area. They can also help obtaining equipment, a modified vehicle, a disability badge etc. So please do look into this as I am a fellow disabled person and do know how hard it can be.

As a true plus size woman, I do not agree with anything Jaebae wants to implement in society. Just because you don't fit in chairs or "can't" walk down an airplane ramp does not mean that everyone around you has to bow down to your needs. You put yourself in that position. I know that being a bigger person means that I have a higher risk for heart disease, or diabetes, or not being able to breathe as easily. It's a minority of people whose health problems/conditions contribute to their obesity, and a smaller minority who have a genetic condition that causes their obesity. This lifestyle is not healthy, nor should be condoned. I have my own health conditions not related to my obesity that make it harder to lose weight, but do I blame everyone for not accommodating to me? No. I know that the choices I've made with what I'm eating contribute to my poor health and size. The only thing I can't empathize with is being a 6X. I wear 2X-3X and I don't have trouble finding clothes (or walking around a store to find clothes), so I can't empathize with not being able to find clothing that fit me (my height is a little different tho(I'm 5'10")). I don't understand why, if you know that what causes obesity in many people is a poor diet, and you want to fix the problem of not being able to fit anywhere or walk anywhere, why can't you just eat better or eat less? I'm not saying to workout and move when you have poor mobility, I'm saying to change what and how much you're putting in your mouth. If you don't agree with this, then I'm sorry, maybe you don't know what it feels like to struggle with obesity or not being able to lose weight.

As a former Wheelchair Assistant at a few airports, this sort of thing is common. The FAA has rules about not refusing service but realistically, most people aren’t strong enough to push these people up or even down the jetbridge. Me personally, I had a couple people per month who required two or even three men to get them up the bridge. Even worse, some of the jet bridges have aggressive bumps going up requiring leaning the chair back and sometimes the weight of the passenger threatens to flip the chair backwards

I'm so disgusted by this person! First off, if you need a wheelchair, then you need your own, and personal muscle man to push you! No employee should be expected to push anything 1/3 of a ton! I'm disabled. I have all metal replaced bones in neck and wrapped in cage. I have deteriorating bone disease. Not much spine left holding me together. All disc's are crushed or bulging, and vertebrae are crumbling so back is full of bone spurs. My nerves are shredded according to doc, and was told I would eventually be in a wheelchair. I'm not able to exercise, because of condition, along with blood condition, just can't. I refuse to use scooter or wheelchair. I can't walk long, because the extreme pain won't let me, but I walk with tears in my eyes, just to do a little grocery shopping. I will not give up walking until my feet no longer work, no matter, the pain, or shortness of breath. I also have asthma and copd. At 49 years old I'm often ashamed that I can only do easy tasks and errands, I hate it. It's so wrong, to be a lazy person, but to cry because moving 1/3 of a ton, is not in most people's job title! I bet you have no problem walking to the fridge! It is unbelievable how terrible she is I'm so many ways! Beyond entitlement, beyond reason! I would love to be able to talk to her face to face!

The nurse thing is correct. My mom worked in a nursing home. Wrecked her back trying to pick an old man up off the floor and put him back in bed. Screwed up 4 disks in her back. And thwy quickly degenerated. And now she's living every say in constant pain and not able to do a lot of what she used to or work because she can't sit or stand for long periods and cant physically lift things or bend over. And she lost her lawsuit against the home for making her do on her own what was supposed to be done by 4 people because they had better lawyers and more money. The man she was helping back in bed barely hit 130 soaking wet. Let alone what this woman weighs. Just think about how much permanent damage she us probably doing to a lot of people because of her bs.

As a formerly obese person (i used to be 342 pounds at my heaviest) who is now 165 and in very good shape physically and mentally, you need to lay off the chocolate cake and Diet Coke, go on a calorie deficit for a few months and do alot of cardio and youl shed the weight in no time. Then once you get your body weight in order you can (while continuing the cardio) Raise your calories back up to 2-2.3k as long as your doing enough cardio. Eating 4-6k calories a day and sitting around and being lazy is the reason you are in this situation. You have no right to take your issues out on other people. If you want another seat you pay for it. And also you shouldn’t be taking elevators you should be walking up the stairs at every opportunity. No-one has to accommodate your bad decisions. I say all of this not to shame you but because i care and i want people to be healthy.

I gained some weight over the years due to mental and medical issues, and I’m doing my best to get in shape. I don’t like the feeling of the gut I have, so I’m trying my best to be consistent and feel better. It’s really hard to imagine being her weight and thinking it’s okay to be that way. Not only that, but influencing other people to follow her way.

@@smoxthybwehthis is the comment I was looking for. I can’t walk long distances - some days even short distances are hard - due to dysautonomia. I end of feeling very lightheaded. And before my first neurosurgery, I used to come very close to fainting. I’m not obese, but I’m in my 30’s; I have always been self-conscious about the fact that if someone sees me walk to a wheelchair, they will think that I’m lazy and just taking resources away from someone who is more visibly disabled. Since I can’t fly related to my medical conditions, thankfully I don’t have to worry about being in a situation where I can have my own assistive equipment.
I used to be a nurse, and I know that the amount of weight this person carries likely does make walking incredibly difficult for her to the point of causing her oxygen level to drop. The problem is that she wants the world to conform itself to her without making any positive changes to her own behavior. She doesn’t have to be this severely disabled, although she might have done some lasting damage to her body at this point. It’s sad.

OF course, we have gait belts, turning discs, and a machine to help transfer in some ways-- you still have to turn them for toileting or daily activities. It also makes a difference if the patient refuses help, in a coma or actively dying. But there is also the scary side where some dementia patients get ridiculously strong sometimes. It could take a couple staff to calm a patient down depending on their size and mobility.

I don’t expect a small towel to be the same price as an extra large towel. As long as they sell it I’m fine with it.
Now with the airplane thing. If you can walk then don’t call for wheelchair assistance. Clearly you can walk. Your lack of planning shouldn’t be other people’s problem.
I’m not a flight attendant but my best friend was a nurse. She said she genuinely hates serving morbidly obese people.
