WHO AM I:
I'm Rene, that’s pronounced Rainy, a motorcycle enthusiast since 1982. I make videos about all kinds of motorcycle gear and I love what I do!
Seriously why would they went with microusb, that saves you 1 cent per unit not going for an USB c port but it makes it unusable
Micro usb really? Come on brake free, do USB C this is a no go for me. Thanks for the video.
Overpriced!! Thanks to Shark Tank
I believe it has been priced the same since before shark tank.
4:49 Don’t tell us. Show us.
I hear you. We tried a few different shots but the lighting wasn’t doing it justice. Still trying to improve the videos and so your feedback is greatly appreciated. Be safe!
I also had trubble pressing the power/mode button. It has to be depressed below the top edge making it extremely hard to use. Simple solution, I super glued 3xM3 washers to the top of the power button. Glue one at a time so you can press and get a strong bond. Once all 3 are on the button will only be .06in or 1.7mm taller, but this greatly makes the button easier to press!
Why don't have some helmets this system allready integrated? Gap in the market!
Sadly 200 € here in Europa
Every manufacturer only expects their products to last one year or buy an extended warranty. A product should last five to ten years, I'm so sick of everything being expensive and disposable.
I have to agree with you. I like having the option to upgrade or change products with a little more time in between as opposed to every new season! Thanks and be safe!
Just purchased the Brake Free. Loved the concept. Attached to my Shoei RF1400 per instructions. No problem with device attaching to helmet mount. Clicked into place and squarely mounted. But found there is a wiggle or slight movement of the Brake Free device on the helmet mount that exists that really bugged me. Every time I bent over, went over a bump or turn my head quickly I heard and felt the Brake Free through my helmet. Emailed the nice folks at Brake Free and sent it back. Apparently the specs of the helmet mounts needed to get a nice snug, is off. This might be as a result of a particular run of these mounts or this wiggle existed and is no an issue with users. It is for me. Too bad. Because I like this device. But not accepting a jenky fitment.
Oh man! I agree that they might have had an off run with that lot because the fitment on mine was nice and snug. Those small issues are a pain to me and it's hard to overlook those details, in my opinion, especially when it is something that distracts from my riding. Thanks for the info. and be safe!
Love that it works, hate hate hate the only button on there.
I expect that future versions will have changes in this area, but that's just a guess because I feel the same way about it!
Just had this a few weeks now, and since it is starting to become winter where I live, I rode early with my winter gloves. Thick af. Never had an issue with the button.
Great video, thanks! Can you please tell me whether it will fit correctly on an HJC RPHA 1N?
I just looked at it and I think that the way you attach the light to the mount is an issue. Because of the aerodynamics on the 1N you won't have the clearance to slide the light down onto the mount. I hope this makes sense.
Haven't read anything about it, but the one thing that would be nice is audible feedback so you can operate it without removing the helmet. Waiting on delivery.
That would be a nice addition! I’m guessing they probably feel like you can just remove it and turn it on/off or change light patterns and then pop it back on and that saves them overall weight and cost. Just my guess though. Thanks for the info., I hope you like the product, be safe!
Will get one soon. Smart buy.Got one now and I 💕 it! Next it's a L.E.D. license plate! Just got another plate for another helmet.
So glad to hear it! Be safe!
No pictures/videos showing the lights on when riding?
How did you know they are on?
I tried a couple of times to and have footage but I didn't feel like it did justice to the brightness of the lights. I am going to try again to get some good footage that represents it adequately. Thanks and be safe!
Now available in White.
Sweet! I guessed that it was only a matter of time.
Is it compatible with icon airflite?
Yes, it is…but, the small ridge that goes across the back of the helmet might make you have to choose to mount it a little higher or lower than directly in the middle. Best of luck, be safe, I love the light and hope you do too!
Does anyone have the site this could be purchased from? In Canada 😊
Hmmm. I'm not sure but I will do some looking. Be safe!
I have a AGV K6s helmet that was made in 23'. This light barely fits but it does fit. I can definitely feel the weight but my helmet is insanely light weight so this light is adding a significant jump in weight on my helmet.
If you look for a sale you can get these currently for like $120 and, as everyone else is saying, it's a automatic buy.
I don't think you read the quick start guide. Doesn't it say, "Wait two hours before attaching the light to the mount"?
Lol! I did read it but I was willing to risk it thinking that they probably were trying to be on the safe side with their recommendation to wait that long. It's been great and I didn't have any issues so maybe I got lucky!
In the video from the maker they say it is best to let it cure for 12 hrs if you can,
loving that RPHA 70ST too!
Thanks! I love it too! It will be hard to replace it because of the price point and how much I have enjoyed wearing it!
I just got mine and in the process of putting on. It seems like it could almost fall off the helmet mount? I'm not talking about the stick part but where the light attaches to the mount. It's that kind of lose, could it not fall off when taking the helmet off the head? It just seems so lose.
Great review, I have one in the mail. Arriving soon. 😁
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it and good luck!
Thank you for the video. I'd like you to make a video of the battery replacement method inside the brake-free
Highly recommend.
I agree, adds a bunch of visibility and safety to your rides!
Is there something like this for the back of a jacket?
No turning signal lighting ??
