Great video. Been working on cars over 45 years. Learned about Copper Antiseize & Silicone paste. Thanks for upgrading shop supplies. One suggestion from Old Man (Ody Club member). 1) Recommend that before you compress brake piston that you get turkey baster and remove 1/2 brake fluid from brake reservoir. I've had brake fluid spill out of reservoir...2) recommend that you mention that Honda brake fluid be bled after 3 yrs or each brake job. 3) to protect master brake pump that you put board under brake pedal to prevent accidentally pushing brake pedal to the floor. Awesome video! I swear to save my life... Did rotor and pad swap on a different vehicle and to could not get the pads to stay by themselves and needed to have a second set of hands hold them in place while I put the caliper over. The back brakes are super easy as there is not retainer clip like the fronts. Learning experience I guess. Just wish they stayed on like yours do in this video.

Have you had any issues using Copper Anti-seize as a lubricant on the clips and ends of the brake pads? Do you prefer it over other brake lubricant products? Thanks.
No I haven't noticed any issues, the copper anti-seize has a higher heat tolerance than regular anti-seize, it doesn't break down that easily. The more important lubricant would be the silicone paste, don't use anything except this 3m paste, others will disintegrate the rubber.
Sup, bro: Got the rotors and pads today and notice the rears do not have screamer pins attached. Easy to slide back on? Fronts already have them. The front and rear come with a new hardware kit. Pumping the brakes at the end... Do it with car OFF until hard then again with car ON? Or only with car ON? Thanks! Just about ready to do this project!
The wear indicator should be there. Pump the brakes with the engine off before starting the engine. Once you start the engine it will go back to normal. Done.
@@MrRangerZr1 the kit came with them separately and not installed. I assume they slide back on. Too bad I can't see you a pic lol Thanks for the confirmation on the brake pumping. So wonderful to have a good tech share knowledge learnt.
It keeps the brake pad from sticking to the rotor, it pushes the pad outwards. I really don't see any difference with and without the clips, the rotors warped anyways. Some people don't use the metal clips but I use them because they came with the car...not going to mess with the brakes on a big van.
@@MrRangerZr1 I am ready to do the rotors and pads this weekend. I have all the tools, including the 3m silicone an anti-seize, but they new pads do not include those two clips. The other hardware for the caliper is included. Thoughts?
@@MrRangerZr1 it really can. It removes any moisture from the surface of the cement. Anyway I was watching your vid because my neighbor and I changed his odessey front pads and rotors last night. The new clips that came with the pads had a additional tab on the outside of edge of both clips. It's difficult to tell what the intended position of the tab should be. If I remember correctly you reused your old clips.
Great videos. I have an issue with my 2014 odyssey,i did the new rotor/pad as you did and skipped no steps but then when i run over a pothole I hear a clacking noise coming from the front end.the noise was not there before just wondering if i need to tighten up the pads somehow because it sounds like if they are loose?or what do you think?

Yep, I got fluid all over. It stayed long enough that the outcome could be future rust. Great idea about the turkey baister!

Gr8 vid. Those springs that push out the brake pads do make it more difficult. The 2019 Honda ridgline are the similar.
It can be annoying to deal with but make sure you use the springs, some people throw them away.

all it does is dry out under heat over time and make it so those pins seize up. its better with what it came with or none at all.

@@GR8GUY54 I'm almost sure you have to upgrade the pads, Autozone gold pads came with all the hardware, whilst the cheaper one didn't?
Great video! Are you certain about 37 lb-ft torque for those 14mm bolts? Pretty much everywhere for Odyssey in those years(2011-2017) are 25 lb-ft?
It's from the shop manual. No way it's 25, that's too low.
