    Excellent Video. Everything was clear and concise with the exception of which product to use at what time. Please clarify what you used the Permatex 24125 Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant AND Versachem 26080 Synthetic Caliper Grease. I watched the video several times and there wasn't any clarification as to which one was used for what. I only heard the word "synthetic" 1x @ 4:44 and all other times the words "brake grease" was used.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  6 месяцев назад

      You can use the Permatex 24125 Ceramic grease on all the area of the pad that I showed. For the slide pin, use only Silglyde on the bushing and slide bolt: amzn.to/3UMjU4g You can do the whole job with these 2 grease.

      No... Ya don't have to drill out rotor mounting screws and risk damaging the female threads of the rotor where those mounting screws go into.
      Use steel on steel. Steel hammer against solid steel ph2 philips head ( they make little " driver" kits just for this. I had to use one on my civic si 2005 a few years back to replace my rotors to get them off. It takes maybe 3 to 5 good hits and you can get them off by hand.

      @onlywenilaugh6589 2 года назад

      @@motoryzen Don't actually need to put them back in so if you damage the threads, it's not a big deal. Those screws just help hold it in place while putting on the wheel but other than that, don't really need them.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  2 года назад +1

      Brake shims are to help with vibration and noise. I kept it as they came with the car. Many people don't reuse them. If you do that, just make sure you put a layer of brake grease on the back surface as that will also help with noise.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  6 лет назад

      Typically there is no need to adjust the parking brake, as you only engage and disengage the parking brake while the vehicle is parked (not moving). There is no wear on it. If for whatever reason you need to adjust it, you can adjust the adjustment screw under the rubber cover.

    • @dial2fast

      I have had these slotted rotors for 4 years and for the most part they worked fine. It started having vibration on the front when braking. So I changed them out with this brake job. They also are a bit noisy during hard braking. I recommend you get these Centric brake rotors/pads. They are really good performers.

    You do not need to open your brake fluid reservoir .... why did you say that? But great video

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  4 года назад +1

      Because the only reason why people recommend opening the reservoir cap is concern of the brake fluid overflowing when you compress the brake calipers. But here is the thing, when the brake pads are new, and the reservoir is filled to the proper fill mark, this is how it should be when the brakes are new or after you do a brake job). As you use the brake and the pads wear, the piston in the caliper pushes out, therefore the brake fluid level goes down. If no one messes with the fluid level and top it off, then when you do your brake job, and compress the brake calipers, the fluid will go right back to the fill mark. Therefore, no fluid overflowing. The rule about removing the cap is if someone decide to top off the fluid with the worn pads in place, when you compress the calipers, there is too much fluid and will overflow.
