thanks, really enjoyed understanding what you dont like about the loafers you left behind, it easy to get distracted and try to make something work as opposed to walking away and sticking to the look you know will work best.
I honestly enjoy your videos but.....the "flaps" in the back of a blazer are vents. You want a single vent as opposed to double vent blazer. The pleated skirt has inverted box pleats, not kick pleats. A kick pleat is found on a narrow skirt in the back to "kick" out as you walk. It can also have a vent but a kick pleats is an actual pleat instead of an opening.
I had found the perfect mens blazer fit me perfectly... But was double "vented" in the back.... i bought it anyway... "Goodwill" thought id tailor the vents.... but now with the cropped blazer trend i have fixed the problem... Cut it above the "vents".... What an awesome piece i now have.... its awesome w my barrel leg pleated vintage 80s chic jeans!!!! Tons of broaches on the lapel!!!!
Beth, I've learned so much from you! You got me into men's ties, vests, mixing prints and vintage earrings. Recently, instead of the skinny scarfs, I have been using the fabric belts from printed my printed dress. I pick up a few from my nearby thrift shop.
Some truly great styling tips, but it may not be a bad idea to brush up on terminology. There are many different pleats, including box pleats, knife pleats, accordion pleating, inverted pleats. The back of the blazer has vents, either single or double. "Trouser - pants" is redundant as all trousers are pants. A combination of your amazing styling tips, plus correct terms really cements your status as a fashionista.
You make thrifting fun and cool 😎 It’s great for those of us who are on a tight budget and for the younger ones to know they can shop second hand and still rock their style. ❤
At this time of year, I always start itching to wear the fall styles, but the weather in South Carolina (as for you in California) is still far too warm. For that reason, through the years, I've thrifted a nice collection of warm weather clothes in fall colors (like plaid skirts that are cotton instead of wool/ sleeveless tops in oranges or cranberry/ preppy vibes in lighter fabrics) that are great for this transition period. I always enjoy your videos 'on location' at a thrift store. Happy autumn!
My daughter found a gorgeous pair of Bass Penny loafers in the men's section. I think she paid $4 for them. They retail for almost $200. It definitely pays to check the men's section!
Love watching. And the "realness" of your videos is top notch - meaning how you pivot when you can't find exactly what you're looking for. I struggle with putting my thrift finds together so it looks stylish and not clownish. Thank you for explaining and showing us how to do it right. I'll see you next time.
I love your videos but this audio was really hard for me to listen to. It’s really grating, especially with all the sharp scratchy noises in the store. Sorry to be a Debbie downer but it made it hard to enjoy as much as I know I usually would!
Most of us old folks take fiber with our other daily medications for all of what you listed above except for skin health. Berets just don't seem to fit my head very well (now with natural hair forget about it), but I have a few but I just don't reach for them. I really like some of the suggestion for styling skinny scarves and ties, excited to try those out. This was fun going with you while focus on transitioning and you provided the photos that behind the inspiration and pulling things that work from the racks or some that don't and explain why they did not for you. So you got major photo bombed and he was just grinning ear to ear. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
Yup, we already know that you are the queen when it comes to blazers (make it better with a blazer) and accessorizing them with ties (skinny&wide), brooches and vests! Looking for some fresh inspo with the Bjones magic 🎩 ✨️ Get those fashion creative juices flowing our way as fall starts to creep. Gracie ❤
I loved, loved loved this video. I took notes and pretended that I was in a class. I just said yesterday that I couldn’t wait for you to start your Fall/Winter videos.❤❤
I love blazers.. i dont wear them much but i cant do oversize.. too short and petite.. i look ridiculous.. i favor the fitted ones.. maybe not on trend but definitely flattering for my figure.
I really enjoyed this, thank you for sharing your tips. I am looking forward to fall dressing, because I found some thrifted finds in Texas while visiting my daughter. I really like that gray vest, great find.
I think they work of they are fitted in at the waist? Oversize doesn't suit me but I love tailored blazers that fit me properly and nip in at the waist.
Beth, I usually love your videos especially your themed thrifts, but something about this series feels very formal and repetitive. These are obvious staples youve discussed already and recently. Maybe it's the mic too? But it feels very formal and not very play. Maybe it's that you're only showing pieces you're planning for, not a character or styling as you find things? I've found those kinds of videos a lot more inspiring and the kind I'd watch over and over. Just wanted to mention as always look out for your videos but really miss that content. ❤
I loved the transition to fall looks. I went thrifting yesterday and found some great things for fall. Thanks for all the great ideas with men's blazers. Loved the show. Melba T. Mann
Love my blasers and mens vests. I have a fabric and a leather one. Have several classic blasers. Love all kinds of pleats. Especially the kickpleat is so fun! I own 4 ties and a whole collection of scatves ans skinnyscarves Own mora then 20 hats/barrets/ bonnets.... I love your statementearrings! I m not in fallmodus yet. Still waiting for summer. It has been so wet here. Hopefully still some sunny days comming. Love your video s XXX
Beth.. Loved this one! I'm out in Palm Springs and soooooooo ready to transition into FALL! I've added a few of your ideas to my Thrift Wish List: Vests, Kick Pleat Skirts & Berets. That orange beret is INCREDIBLE!!! XOXO Jenny D
Blazers n blushes.... admirers everywhere you go!! :) Are you still doing pvolve or something else? Rockin bod. Love love your channel. Im not curvy in the sense of hips but have booty that pops out, DDD, lil tum, size 10-12. and 5'3"...somewhat sporty shape.. 165. Feel limited with what I cam wear,. Need structure and a little stretch to show shape. , elongated neckline. Cannot wear pleats, dresses look like tents, have broad shoulders so cant wear poof sleeve etc. Would be amazing if you covered this body shape. You're so talented. Super fun closet!!
I feel you…I’m 5’0” and with this men’s clothing trend on women, I decided to try on a few of my husbands size medium dress shirts to get an idea of what to expect. There’s so much fabric everywhere. It’s just not feasible even if I’d go down to size small. A men’s blazer on me would look like a blazer is walking around 😂
I am a big fan and watch/ rewatch all your videos. Today, though the sound had me hoping you would leave this audio system in the car. Very hard to understand and I want all your inspiration without you in the tunnel and the Savers customer crashing through everything on the shelves.
dear b.jones YOU ARE A CLEVER AND FUN STYLIST. Please take the next bit as cordial constructive criticism: you can improve your delivery by pronouncing the word autumnal correctly ( it’s autumnal, not autumal, notice the letter n? ) it’s pronounced: aa - TUHM - null. Same deal with the word voluminous (not volumous). it’s pronounced: vuh - LOO - muh - nuts.

Great idea!
hey Beth, this mic / audio set up gives you really inconsistent sounding audio... a bit tinny / digital sounding.
I cant wear a blazer without looking like I'm trying too hard, or like an 80s college student at her first interview as a newspaper editor.
I like to dress them down with jeans and t-shirts, white sneakers or Docs.
Agree on the above on the dressing down above if you feel like it add a schal that says grown up or a good watch.
I feel the same, it may be partially what one is used to seeing oneself in and then part is where one go.. there is less "dressup" places nowadays
Omg yes!! Me too! I’ve thrifted some great blazers that I end up giving away. It’s just not for me.
lol! that was me!
😊 the turquoise t-shirt man and his sweet smile !!!
Sweet comment ❤

Such a great idea!
I’m so curious to see how that would look lol. Do you wear them like a choker???
Those coach ones look likw driving mocs.
the sound is odd

I love that you give no Fs that people are watching you at the thrift store😅. Great video.
Your style is immaculate 🤩 Obsessed with the red color of those loafers!

Yes.. Tucson, Az... Never cold enough 🌞
Probably say this every time but your outfit in this video is one of my all time favourites. Hair, accessories, everything is 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
I once found a pair of women's Bally loafers in the men's section of a thrift store. Always worth a look! 🎉
My daughter found a gorgeous pair of Bass Penny loafers in the men's section. I think she paid $4 for them. They retail for almost $200. It definitely pays to check the men's section!

LOVINGGGGGGG this series Beth! You are the thrifting QUEEN.

I love the earrings that you're rocking.
My favorite series from you Beth! A++++++
I don’t do shoes or underwear from thrift stores, but your style rocks! It helps that you’re young with a great figure. Love your videos!
I love the 'blazer' trend, but I rock a bald head so an oversized blazer on me is really giving uncle Fester vibes 😆
Enjoy this series!
love your amazing inspired looks

I received my under club set ow my it is so so cute! Loved supporting your name! Love every single Thursday!
I love vests and blazers but I feel for a curvy gal they don’t work as well. Any tips?
I think they work of they are fitted in at the waist? Oversize doesn't suit me but I love tailored blazers that fit me properly and nip in at the waist.
Always want to know if you bought any of your picks, and would have liked to see the final look put together.
Have you got a new microphone? Sounds a bit off , not as good Sound as normal. Love your video.
I so agree with you charity shopping is the best, luv the video, great tips
That looks like the yorba Linda savers. I never have any luck there!

I tried a men's blazer at the thrift shop. Looks great, but I feel it was too much on me. I am petite at 5 1'

Chic blazer!! Random Question: Do you know of any leather tailors in Southern Carlifornia area? I have two leather bombers that I need tailored.
Beth why dont you give the prices of items 😢
I think the Coach shoe is more of a moccasin rather than a loafer.
The Coach Shoes with that type of
soul are referred to as "Driving" shoes or Moccasins. Very flexable.
I love all of your thrift ideas,it makes me think outside the box. Love it love it love it!
😂OOPS!
Love this.
YOUR PINSTRIPE BLAZer!!!
Thank you Beth lots of Fall fun 😊❤Barb
Those gigantic blazers ruin an outfit, imo. I love your videos! 💞
How many blazers is too many blazers? The limit does not exist!
LoLFELT MY AGE WHEN YOU SAID CHER... 😂 Blonde moment
😻
❤🥰🥰🥰
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍👏👏👍
I hate oversized ! I think it makes you look ridiculous like you couldn’t find the right size so chose that
The microphone is really sharp and not nice to listen to. It may be too close to your mouth?
sorry, it’s nuhs , not nuts
Omg! Love your earrings madam! They are soo sexy! ❤

Hi Beth. What camera do you used when you're filming by yourself (without help)?
