It will "Kill" (keeel)... Great idea, and bring back some contestants that remember j neilson bashing their blades to fail next tests.. and bash up his.. lol. And Doug just let him stab the shit out of the ballistics dummies as normal... let's see who crumbles under time pressure
"I'm acting all calm right now but the last two hours I'm gonna get all crazy" proceeds to be calm the whole time. What a master of his craft. That was a joy to watch. Also, he seems like such a cool dude.
Chris Lo I know Jason personally. He doesn’t get freaked out, at least not that I’ve ever seen. He is by far, one of the neatest guys on earth to talk to.
After binge watching a pile of Forged In Fire, this is really cool to see. I found your easy to reach short term floor storage technique especially instructive.
The ease with you work clearly indicates your experience with the entire process. As you said have a plan and follow it smoothly. Your no nonsense way about handling the steel is something to behold. I hear your jokes and see you dance but the the master craftsman cannot hide when you're working the material. A pleasure to watch, thank you for creating the video.
Really cool shape and finished build. Made it look fairly simple from great planning and a lot of experience. Glad I found your channel as enjoyable vids and enjoy the banter that shows how much you enjoy what your doing. Looking forward to more!
Very cool.....thanks for sharing. Something very powerful about crafting something that can literally last a life time...my 87 yr old dad has left a legacy in wood working and masonry for his family and friends...it really makes me appreciate the talent and craft that others possess.
before i started blacksmithing i would have looked at 4 hours and like some of you i would have thought "ez W'' but after taking 10+ hours of hard ass work to pound round stock into a ok-ish scythe i have a whole new appreciation for this.
Greatest knife ever? No...A knife I would bet my life on and one I would be proud to own / love to own? ABSOLUTELY...Thank you for bringing us along for the making of this. Definitely inspiring and great to watch a master plying his craft.
Great video. Shows how even under a time constraint you don't need to freak out! Think of the process...... do your work. Issues will always arise. Think outside the box get it done. Thanks for taking us to your home Forge.
This is first time I have watched a Jason video. On FIF, I come away with the impression of a man devoid of a sense of humor. I'm glad to see I was wrong.
Ya know mr. Knight. Dude I love your videos and I find you to be a true inspiration to follow ones dreams. I want to be a blade and armour Smith. Been making chainmail for 14 years. Still getting better at it. But I haven't really got into forging. Finding a bloody anvil is frustrating. Should have got that one when I was in the army. Oh well. Im sure one will pop up at some point. Until then I will keep dreaming and watching your videos.
I just made my first knife it's a railroad spike knife just wanted to say you and the show forged in fire inspired me and thank you for all these great lessons
I was lucky enough to talk to him for a few minutes at blade show last year. What was awesome to me is that he approached me, not the other way around. I didnt want to bother him. He gave me some very solid advise on power hammers.
This craft has some really good people within it. I’ve been making things with my hands since I was a kid but after my 10 years in the Army I found Blacksmithing/bladesmithing I knew I found my forever home. I’m 35 but I look up to guys like Jason that so passionately advocate for the prestige of being a maker.
I totally agree with you. This craft is full of makers that actually enjoy helping other makers so we can all learn from each other. I've been smithing for 3 years and one of the highlights so far has been talking to Jason.
Very fun to watch. You made that look easy. Like the blade shape and your approach to what you were doing. You had a goal and you didn’t rush. Thanks for the video, the tips and the comedy. Fun sense of humor.
Just started to watch Jason his no bull attitude is really cool his knifes are some of the best I’ve seen hope to lurn a lot more watching his skills come to life. 👍🏻
Just found your channel Jason. I really enjoyed this episode, and subscribed. Your talent speaks for itself, so what really surprised me was how much your personality "improved" outside the History Channel's studio. You're a cool cat and gifted craftsman rather than someone who's only tolerated because of their superb skills. I can't wait to catch up on your videos and plan to dive into blade smithing (and your online classes) once I get some garage space to call mine.
I miss you on the show, I like the other guys on there also. It always seemed like you pulled for the smiths in a different way. When J. Nielson would see a flaw he would try to destroy it. You always seemed to be more fair. All that aside i did not realize how Zen and chill you are. It is a pleasure to watch you work and overcome the challenges that pop up. Like going to a coffin shape when you realized it was going to be a wrap. Definitely the "Bob Ross" of master smithing.
knightforgestudio. Love seeing Jason go thru his process. Amazing that the creative process is so often freeform, flows like water. Then all of a sudden it comes together and you have Mastery. Please make sure when you adjust your audio for the whole video you are setting the right levels. The music was about 20% higher then Jason talking, then you have the occasional noise from grinders that just blow out the sound.
I really like the blade profile. Awesome video. Thanks Jason, and your team of course. Very informative as always. I dig the comedic value in all your work it really shows that you’re just having a good time but still passionate about the craft.
Love the knife, enjoying the sense of humour. One thing about experience in any field, it makes the task at hand look easy. Fun video to watch, I’d love to own that blade!
I’ve never made a knife in my life, and I live in an apartment so I doubt I ever will. I buy and carry knives (and spend waaaay too much money on them). But this has become one of my favorite channels. Love your work and the videos are really well done. Keep it up!
A true master craftsman and artist! Really impressed by the economy of motion and seemingly effortless movements. What a beautiful piece of functional art.
I really want to begin knife smithing... but I have no idea where to start. It seems it takes money to make money, of course... but there are things I still don't understand. Love your videos! I'll always keep watching, learning, and sharing. God bless
You have convinced me with this vid that you are the embodiment of true craftsmanship...I salute you good sir! (That light sabre sound not only make me subscribe to your channel,it make me like the video and share as well) keep up the good work! Thank you!
New to the channel. But I have every episode of FiF to date. With the exception of the newest season, I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th time binging the show since the kung-flu pandemic started. Finally getting around to start bladesmithing soon. Who knows, maybe I'll be a contestant on the show in a few years. Love bladesmithing!
Great job, specially since the material was unknow. Good advises all around to anyone the is thinking about entering a competition where you would have limit time to do a knife.
I love the fact that you can do this in 4 hrs. I can barely get a blade forged and heat treated in 3. Impressive though. Thanks for taking us along Jason.
That's a sexy blade, regardless of the forge time. You taking lunch in the middle is such a power move and I respect that.
They should do a Forged in Fired: Judges Edition.
That would be awesome!
Great idea!
Yes just yes
who would judge the judges?
It will "Kill" (keeel)... Great idea, and bring back some contestants that remember j neilson bashing their blades to fail next tests.. and bash up his.. lol. And Doug just let him stab the shit out of the ballistics dummies as normal... let's see who crumbles under time pressure
His commentary is honestly me talking to myself when I work on cars
"I'm acting all calm right now but the last two hours I'm gonna get all crazy" proceeds to be calm the whole time. What a master of his craft. That was a joy to watch. Also, he seems like such a cool dude.

Be good to see you tag a few smiths, get the 4 hour challenge going. If it wasn't already, it should now be considered set. Great video.
You have some unbelievable skills
I like that we finally get to see his personality. Love his sense of humor.
A START TO FINISH BLADE IN 4:00-HOURS THAT'S 240-MINUTES THAT'S A REALY REALY BADASS BLADE 1 HELL OF A BAD TO THE BONE BLADE😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The ease with you work clearly indicates your experience with the entire process. As you said have a plan and follow it smoothly. Your no nonsense way about handling the steel is something to behold. I'm also a fellow south Carolinian who is getting into the art of Dinking around with steel. I'm glad I found your Channel I am learning a lot !
Very cool.....thanks for sharing. Something very powerful about crafting something that can literally last a life time...my 87 yr old dad has left a legacy in wood working and masonry for his family and friends...it really makes me appreciate the talent and craft that others possess.

So glad you’re posting videos. Miss seeing you on forged in fire.
simply love the you you are! Keep on pushing the limits. I always learn lots and love the humour... !!!
Insane. Beautiful. You make it look so easy.
Bad to the bone. I need that. Jason and Winkler are my 2 GOATS. I will rep them till the day I die. True masters of their craft and so much more.
before i started blacksmithing i would have looked at 4 hours and like some of you i would have thought "ez W'' but after taking 10+ hours of hard ass work to pound round stock into a ok-ish scythe i have a whole new appreciation for this.

I would like to think that even if he was the only person in the shop, he'd still be talking to himself hahaha. So enjoyable to watch!
You're awesome Jason thanks for being you and my Facebook friend!!!
Need more of Jason Knight and his chattering. Love it!
Great video. Shows how even under a time constraint you don't need to freak out! Think of the process...... do your work. Issues will always arise. Think outside the box get it done. Thanks for taking us to your home Forge.
Outstanding design and size! Fun watching you work this blade! Keep them coming.....
I like Jason's irreverent style. A wrap of joking around, but with a core of seriousness.
A san mai approach!
Yeah Jason is a based guy and he has an excellent name too.
Cool handle gonna have to try that. Nice work
A beast. Love the format of the show. Love to see you have 2 days and what you would come up with.
Just stumbled onto your channel and all I can say is that is an awesome blade for 4 hours.......you truly are a Master.
I love watching people who are great at what they do work! This is awesome
That is an incredibly beautiful knife. He’s such a beast with a style all his own. 🔥🔥
That's one badass looking Samurai/bowie/chopper! Mad skills...I need to learn how Jason gets such an incredible edge on his blades!
Awesome to watch a master smith working under time constraint and see what you come out with.
I love the idea of challenge videos like this. You should make more of these when you have the time. That knife looks great man!
This is first time I have watched a Jason video. On FIF, I come away with the impression of a man devoid of a sense of humor. I'm glad to see I was wrong.
Love watching a professional at his craft show you how to do it!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video! Cool Host!! Cool Jams!! Cool Knife!!
Thanks Jason Knight for sharing the knowledge, I am from Brazil and enjoy your video
This one of my favorite videos ever that you’ve made. I like the general spirit throughout.
Hi Jason.,..great video!...we miss you on Forged in Fire!...Take care brother!

Just "dinking" around for four hours and turned out a rad knife! Thanks for the great lesson, keep them coming.

Fantastic video, friggin hilarious. Great work, thanks Jason.
Hanging out with Jason Knight for one day would be the most mind blowing experience! Haha

I have to say, it's a treat to watch a master beating away at his craft. In awe at the size of those mitts you've got too!

I appreciate your apathy, in this. My eldest and I laughed a lot, and were still impressed with the build.

That's a beast of a knife. Love it.
Love your work. It's fun to see first hand some of the things you mention when you've judged on FiF.
Thanks again for sharing your experience. I would love to have that thing in my campsite!
I love the fact that you can do this in 4 hrs. I can barely get a blade forged and heat treated in 3. Impressive though. Thanks for taking us along Jason.
Great video! The technique with the sand was a big eye opener for me!
You are an incredible forger .....four hours and made it easily .
Absolutely fantastic! Always full of my kinda humor, inspired to make a knife everytime I watch!
Man I love it. Pretty unbelievable for 4 hrs. I'd use it around my place all the time
your design ideas are awesome
