At more than 43 I’ve loads of bands I love and have done for years but these remain a firm favourite and to this day the best band ive (n)ever seen live
44 here. I met them in a restaurant before a show in 2006 ish in Petaluma California and they were very nice as well. Happy to meet a fan, even at a meal... my Dad gave me bring it on and abandoned shopping trolley my senior year in high-school after he didn't get into them... it's a little weird when your Dad's cast off CDs become your favorite band that no one else has ever heard ofit is amazing how much their stage show evolved after this! Definitely top 5 live bands I have ever seen and that is saying something... I don't have many bucketlist bands left and I have seen Gomez at least 5 times😂🥂
This was the first performance I saw the first time I went to Glastonbury. In fact it was the first festival I'd ever been to - what a great start, eh?!
Absolutely super band. Love gomez and have done since i was 18 yeras old. I couldnt wait for Bring it on to be released and they have never disappointed from then on.
Tijuana lady absolute belting tune. Got into these when first came out and saw them live at Sheffield and it’s one of best gigs I’ve been to. Incredible live act. Threw Michael Jackson samples in and all sorts. How good is Bens voice!!?
Oh my this was totally next level being in the audience hearing them live!!! Sounds flat as owt on here but the gose pimples n feeling being there was undiscribable I never ever head of them before then. I was near the front n I miraculously found all my mates I had lost was epic day . I just came on here to find that song that gave best feeling so thanks Gomes epic times the 90's early 2000
I didn't really know Gomez much, but I've seen Tom Gray discussing his Broken Record campaign recently so I thought I'd check them out, great music, nice grooves, good songs, musicianship, vocals cheered me up no end. Thanks for posting it.
I'll never forget the first time I saw them live. I was lost for words. Absolutely one of the best bands I've ever seen and I've seen more than your Dad.
Yeah man. This was the first time I saw them live. Magic set on a magic night. Then saw Kula Shaker on the same stage straight after Gomez. One of the best lines ever, 99...
1st song is called Free To Run. Brilliant live band in their day, always tight as hell. Shame they all thought they were solo artists. After Brit Pop died these were the only guys worth listening to.
I heard their music years after they were popular but had no idea what they looked like. Couldn’t believe they were British! Argued a hole thru an iron pot they had to be Americans 😂 I kept hearing pearl jam in the lead singers voice!
I thought they were american until this week. having a renewed gomez moment after listening to them on loop in 2003. Had no idea they were british. Such a bluesey sound x
They were a special band. Their songs have a magic I can't explain. Would have been nice to see them evolve into all sorts of places, musically. They just faded away?
The problem with Gomez(for me),is that they are a much better sounding live band as opposed to the studio. I'm not sure if it's necessarily over production but something is lost in translation from the stage to the studio. There is a raw energy,an urgency behind the music that they have yet to capture in the studio......my humble opinion.
In our gun live is awesome to watch live, the whole pantomime of a half minute wait while they get the bass on and let rip is completely lost on the album. Fucking good shit btw.
F*ck RUclips and there f*cking adverts ruining the ambience of a good set. 🙄 *I'm sure that bit of harmonica between Tijuana Lady and Whippin' Picadilly is a nod to the harmonica in the opening credits beach scene in 'Jaws'.
Criminally underrated band.
Without doubt one of the very best live. I was right up the front for this.
Great weather, great tunes, great memories.

How good is it👍👍👍
In my 50’s and still one of my favourite bands . Awesome live . Magical songwriters
This was the first Glastonbury I went to and Gomez was the reason we went. Did not disappoint 🙏
This was the first performance I saw the first time I went to Glastonbury. In fact it was the first festival I'd ever been to - what a great start, eh?!
One of the most underrated bands ever. Totally love them and can't wait to see them again at the Royal Albert Hall in April
Absolutely super band. Love gomez and have done since i was 18 yeras old. I couldnt wait for Bring it on to be released and they have never disappointed from then on.
Literally one of the best bands ever.
'been away for a while' in 99. blimey. i was listening to them in the early noughties. What a great band. Love them still x
All these years later and Tijuana lady still gives me shivers down my spine and brings a small tear to my eye.

Oh my - enough said!

This is 5 years later.
Who would have thought
I'm in this crowd! Remember it like yesterday
Great to see a full Gomez show, a criminal lack of these to watch for such a great live band!

Got there about 10mins after these finished and I was gutted! REM were on as we arrived that year, great festival and great memories
i remember watching this back then........all these years later this set still sounds epic. so glad i found this, good times :)
Underrated is what most say about them. Personally, I feel like they didn't sell their souls and still are so fucking good. My favorite band💜✌️💜
Well said its given em longevity
Good point
Such a talented band and great live if you get the chance
I didn't really know Gomez much, but I've seen Tom Gray discussing his Broken Record campaign recently so I thought I'd check them out, great music, nice grooves, good songs, musicianship, vocals cheered me up no end. Thanks for posting it.
EPIC BAND so much love for them
Saw them live in 1999 in the Netherlands and still haven`t seen any band like them. Great musicianship and songs.
I've been to Glastonbury festival 10 times and Gomez were as good a band as I saw there.
The Conscientious Objector second best band I ever saw there. I was next to the right of the stage at this one. superb band.
and here I am again :)
and here I am again lol post-rona

Don’t forget Ride!
Just friggin brilliant.
I was there. Awesome.

woz s three years later, and not as many views as I would’ve thought. Great band. Wish more people were turned onto them!
Glasto... When it was a music festival and not a flag making convention.
Lovely stuff, such an amazing set. Bravo Gomez. From sou'wie to Matlock with love...
These guys blew my mind at Splendour in the Grass 2002
I remember being at this performance all those years ago. Ace one for posting ✊🏿
I heard their music years after they were popular but had no idea what they looked like. Couldn’t believe they were British! Argued a hole thru an iron pot they had to be Americans 😂 I kept hearing pearl jam in the lead singers voice!

Just discovered this video. Thanks uploader. RUclips Gold!
I saw them at Glastonbury ‘98, a smaller stage, on the final night, Tijuana Lady and fireworks.
Sunset ordinary, Gomez...very good
Was at this ....roasting hot ....year before rivers of mud
Seen these a few time's class band, was in that crowd somewhere
Barrowlands Glasgow was the best gig I've been to.
Kevin Henderson playing there again in a couple of days.
awesome band!!
ahhh the good ole days before cell phones when people were "present "
I've been chasing you around Old México...
Just getting more into them. 78 stone wobble is next level
I'm in that crowd somewhere.

Me too.
God bless you Buzz Roberts.
They were a special band. Their songs have a magic I can't explain. Would have been nice to see them evolve into all sorts of places, musically. They just faded away?
Peart Collins playing the barras in a coup,e of days.
Still going strong bro...Not faded away at all burning bright as always....
Holy shit they look young.
Nice one!
lol "heres a new song...hangover...lol" one of their best ever......
Seen them at T in the Park the same year. So fuckin good.
I was there 😎

Case in point here, Hangover. Studio version doesn't even come close to this particular live version (which is the best i've ever heard it).
It's only a problem if it is the other way around ;-)
jimi jam74 agreed
In our gun live is awesome to watch live, the whole pantomime of a half minute wait while they get the bass on and let rip is completely lost on the album. Fucking good shit btw.
Nah i dont buy that. Live is live and studio is studio both different animals and the stuff these boys produce in either area is 100% always.....
not your average band.
F*ck RUclips and there f*cking adverts ruining the ambience of a good set. 🙄
*I'm sure that bit of harmonica between Tijuana Lady and Whippin' Picadilly is a nod to the harmonica in the opening credits beach scene in 'Jaws'.
love pearl jam
Was there
yes i am !!
Head a time
Way head
I was there :-)
Miles Jupp started in Gomez?
bass player for get myself arrested starts the song opposite the chords
Yep should have been massive
Verve
Bring it on album was good but they are shite live which is why they are now playing town halls for $500 a night
