Karl isn't unique, I've met people like this. I'm probably described like this sometimes, very literal and plain speaking. There's a lot of us about...
He's a bit funny but he was more so a product of Ricky's ego pushing him down everyone's throats and laughing at everything he says to create a 'hype'. He's just a regular, meat and potatoes guy who was in the right place at the right time. I love Karl but people put him on this weird, almost mythical pedestal. Sometimes need to be brought back down to reality.
For any non-Brits, at the end when Ricky says "done him up like a kipper", that's an actual common phrase which means to con someone, or to trick or exploit them.
You lot need to reeact to "idiot abroad" series 1. It doesnt get blocked generally if you check other people watching it . the moaning of life will let blocked though
This is the beauty of Karl Pilkington. They very rarely prepare anything, he is just a force of nature with his thoughts and theories. What we would call comedic bones, and Ricky just knows how to pull Karl’s strings after 20+ years of friendship and working together.
@@dougoneill7266 I know, was trying to keep it simple for guys who've never heard of him haha. Obviously he was given to them as their producer but my point was he organically grew into what he became rather than be a professional comedian etc

Karl is a legend one of the funniest people on the planet by accident as well watch the ricky Gervais show or an idiot abroad. this show is just another one of Ricky's pranks on karl.
This is one of Ricky's many, many pranks on Karl: Ricky loves winding him up. Karl thought this was a real show (Ricky going to the expense, courtesy of Sky TV, of hiring a full studio and crew!). Karl realises halfway through that its a wind-up!
This is the short version. There is no part 2 but there is a longer version and the 2nd half of the longer version is so funny. Also check out the Ricky Gervais show and idiot abroad
Karl is from the same place as the Gallaghers, Manchester, so they have similar accents and sensibilities. Karl is hilarious and worth every second you spend watching him. Fellow old bay lovin, crab eater over here. More KP.
I teach English to beginners and this is uncomfortably close to reality. BTW, we do sometimes drop articles and prepositions to get the main point across ( the subject, verb and object). This also ignores the vital use of mime(apart from the tea drinking) 😄
Karl Pilkington can't get Chinese off his mind since he done An Idiot Abroad series 1 episode 1 China is hilarious. Can't wait to see part 2 of today's video brilliant keep up with the work.x
It's not educational, it's comedy, there's a whole show like this with Karl in it... Karl is just a plain uncensored communicator that when triggered by Ricky can become a humorous exchange. Watch "An idiot abroad"..
The genius of Gervais is he went into this unscripted and what a perfect foil he had having Karl as his partner! ❤❤ Seen Ricky live and I cried with laughter!! 🎉🎉
RUclips literally has hours and hours of conversations like this between them,as well as Steven Merchant, from their old XFM radio show. The Ricky Gervais show animates much of these conversations.
you NEED to react to An Idiot Abroad. That's the best Karl you can get, he's so genuine, anything that comes up in his head he will say it with no filter. If I remember correctly the first episode of the first series is indeed about China, that's why he refers to chinese so frequently in this video
Welcome to the Ricky Gervais Game - you have unlocked the Karl power up boost. For more Karl fun see the animated Ricky Gervais show on HBO, and also why not watch Ricky eviscerating celebrities on the Golden Globe awards compilation. I would love to see you guys reacting to more British comedy, but only if you like it :-)
I was about to suggest you watch some Ricky and Karl and here we are. Just to give a bit of background and I'm sure Ricky will explain this in a later anyway but Ricky and Stephen Merchant (both of them known as writers of "The Office", Stephen less so) met Karl on XFM a music style radio show in the early to mid 2000s, he was a producer and eventually the head of production, occasionally he would make comments when Ricky and Stephen were discussing a topic, they'd bring him on to talk about it and give his unusual and unique thoughts about whatever the subject was and they both loved his personality and interesting way of viewing the world that they used him as much as they could and included him in a few "An Idiot Abroad" series as well as other series. I can honestly say guys that the "An Idiot Abroad" episodes are some of the funniest unintended comedy you will ever see where Ricky and Stephen deliberately send him to places around the world doing activities that know are completely out of his comfort zone. My favourite episode has to be the one in China. I think it's one of the very first episodes, so so good. Trust me guys if you go down the Karl Pilkington rabbit hole you will not regret it one bit and you will love it. Everything from the XFM shows, to the Ricky Gervais show and the "An Idiot Abroad" series will Karl is really good, basically anything with Karl in much like Oasis, is usually good or at least decent. I think it is important to stress that Karl is not an actor or a comedian which to me is one of his greatest strengths. Sure, maybe at times he's playing things up for the cameras but even that is a bit of a stretch at times for me. He is one of the most interesting people I've ever heard and it's completely natural. Please don't fall into the trap of thinking Karl's an idiot or stupid, he's definitely not, he just sees things in a completely differently to other people which is what makes him so great. I wish you all the best on the journey if you guys decide to go down it. I would recommend doing part 2 and then watching "Meet Karl Pilkington", I'll post a link below just so you can get a beginning look at what Karl is like as a person. ruclips.net/video/NQBlZIXu3Yg/видео.html Loving the content, keep up the great work :).
You’ve just opened a Karl Pilkington can of worms, a dim witted radio producer from Manchester who shot to fame as Ricky Gervais discovered how hilarious he was when he hosted a radio show on xfm in the early 2000’s. Karl Pilkington is hilarious and there’s so much to watch. An idiot abroad, the Ricky Gervais show, so much more
Karl Pilkington is class 👌 He does know he's there to be roasted most of the time, but he's also a comedic genius. You lads should try some of Ricky and Karl's (And Stephen Merchant who was 8n 'The office' with Ricky) other series... Like 'The Moaning of life' Or 'Idiot Abroad', Where Ricky and Stephen Merchant send him all over the world, sometimes to remote places where nobody speaks English, and the make him do ridiculous tasks. It's brilliant T. V. With no frills attached. There's also the Ricky, Karl and Stephen show, that is more like a podcast but a cartoon version, where they all play themselves and talk about ridiculous, but really funny topics.... Also 'Derek' which is more like a sitcom which is funny, but has some real heart warming topics.... I couldn't get into 'Derek' at first, cause I was expecting their usual brand of comedy, but I gave it another try and ended up loving the show. It also showed both their comedy genius to do something completely different. Also 'Sick of it' was 2 series that Karl did himself. Sick of it was a comedy drama and although the first series had mixed reviews, the second series was held in high acclaim for how he put comedy and drama together with something completely different, just as Ricky Gervais did with his on going series 'After life'. Right I'll shit up now and let my bro'd from over the pond enjoy the comedy Genius of Ricky Gervais and Karl Pilkington. Peace and Respect from Lancashire, North West England UK ✌️🇬🇧👌
