A dharma teacher F. Osteseski has a saying “find a place to rest in the middle of everything”. This reminds me of that. May every black girl’s magic be used for their benefit alone, may those who most need rest, find an ocean of rest

The death card also represents evolution, as the strength card goes, as the sister relaxing on the bike smoking a cigarette could also describe her ability to defy all odds of stereotypes of what women should be a Lady when the two concepts are different in meaning rather than what society labels you to its standards. Thank you, Rashunda! Have you heard of Trisha Hersey and her Nap Ministry/Rest is Resistance? When I had the bandwidth followed her (and many others) on IG. Loved your newsletter piece on being called/expected to be "strong" and "blackgirlmagic." Applies to all women of color. When you add maybe immigrant and non-Christian also, that's a whole lot. We're supposed to be strong martyrs. What a crushing load on our shoulders. Definitely something to let go. (So many others to at least contemplate.) Am in process and maybe have gone way to the opposite side for now. Constantly recalibrating. Still enjoying the "Harris honeymoon," her BRAT and "white boy summer" for the energy and great phrases that keep coming from/about her and her VP possibilities in the "white midwestern male emporium." There are at least 2 female possibilities, but sadly she'll need to make a "DEI" pick to balance her "Bernie Sanders with lipstick' image in the hard right even though Sanders was late in endorsing her even though other progressives were already on board (AOC had feared that if Biden stepped down, Harris would be bypassed) and her record has been more progressive than Biden who he endorsed and with whom he was friends, so knew he could influence? Meanwhile reality keeps seeping in: Netanyahu's visit to Congress, murder of Sonya Massey, wildfires.
I really liked the video AOC did when she discussed what was going on in the background and her fears about Harris being bypassed. I think her voicing those fears put the party on alert that if they did bypass Madam VP there would be hell to pay. Crossing fingers that we'll be able to call her "Madam President" soon.

I really and truly believe Harris has a chance. Don't give up yet. Also, pleeeaassse don't think it's better over here. Steve Bannon has been over here training right-wing / fascist politicians on how to win elections, so things have probably changed since you were here. Look at Italy and Hungary. The PMs of those countries are fascist. And although they didn't stand a chance, members of a right-wing fascist party in Germany are on trial for plotting to overthrow the government. Please don't give up hope...yet. Sending a big hug because even though I'm all the way over here, we're in this together. ❤️
