All of her life she use that birth certificate for everything until now. I know for a fact that you mess up and got screw. Don't judge the victim for getting screw.
We realized the night before departure that we did not have a birth certificate for one of our children we were going on a cruise out of state and new we would need one we printed off a duplicate for one of our children and presented the right number of certificates even though two certificates were for the same child and the other child did not have one they did not catch it leaving or interning back into America and this fast one saved our 20,000 dollar vecation
This happened to us just last week… wish we could have seen this beforehand… for those that do not travel often and don’t know any difference this is an honest mistake. With all of the documents that one has to upload previously to the cruise in the check in process 30 days out.. why isn’t this caught? It’s the one that’s not asked… stating official is a matter of interpretation and each state has very officially looking documents.
Consumer Law considers otherwise. What she has is "Certificate of Live Birth" Which is long form of birth certificate. If she gets her a REAL Consumer attorney that knows the consumer law well She could actually have a lawsuit on her hands because now they have violated her right to travel
Are You an Attorney? My guess would be NO. Consumer Law and Immigration Law are two different matters. It is the Customer’s responsibility to do their due diligence and make sure they have the correct and LEGAL travel documents as required by Immigration Law. If these people booked their Cruise through a Travel Agency who (in writing) stated that this type of certificate is legal then YES, they may have a valid lawsuit but only against the Travel Agency. The Cruise Line is in the clear on this one.
"Voter registration cards unacceptable to be used for ID". I'll test you guys on this in a few months. You have already failed on this subject in the past.
You know, if you pay thousands of dollars for something you would think you would check and double check EVERYTHING you need for a cruise.

@EricaEarth So it's someone else's fault she doesn't have the right documentation?
Tremendous, who?
No, it's known as personal responsibility.
That is not a birth certificate; it says it the form. My oldest son have the same one.
That sucks. That is clearly not a certified birth certificate.
