If your peg holes are parallel to the the edge of the saddle blank before the shape is cut out on the band saw, I would sand the wings of the saddle on a vertical oscillating spine sander before cutting out the shape of the bridge which might make the process easier and save some time.
Good to see you back at it eric. As an aside question to the video. Have you done any laminate side guitars yet? I was going to 2 similar guitars next but one with laminate sides to compare and wondered your thoughts on the subject?. Also what finish do you use? Don’t think you’ve done a video on either subject yet. Cheers.
Thanks, Russell! I have not done laminate sides but I really like the idea of it. Anything you can do to bolster up the sides and make them more rigid is a good thing. My friend Jim from @lastingbuild is working on some laminate side guitars at the moment. I'm interested to see what he says. For finishing right now I am using Tru Oil. In fact, I have an online course where I teach the method: www.ericschaeferguitars.com/course/tru-oil-finishing-method-acoustic-guitar/
Keep the videos coming! Always learn something!
I love your craftsmanship. Great video
Thanks for another excellent lesson, Eric!
Wow... just wow you have such a talent and awesome skills that I would love to acquire! Keep up the great work!!

Eric….nice bridge design! Do you use that thickness sander to thickness tops, backs and sides?
Is the bridge varnished as well?
