I have been saving stuff to make an owl journal for two years, so this may be the motivator to get me started! I had no idea about the Dollar Tree wooden pieces being multiple plies. I also never thought of embossing them. I have a lot of them, including a set of owls. I can't resist them, but don't use them often because of the bulk. I will definitely do an owl fan with feathers, but can see myself making lots of these for different journals. Thanks for such a precise and inspiring tutorial.
Thank you so much, Victoria! Yes, this project can be interpreted for any style of journal, and it’s super fun to make. I have the Dollar Tree owl die cuts too, and I’ve used a couple of them in this journal. I also used one of the butterfly die cuts and embossed it with the gold as well, and they were perfect with one of the Tim Holtz paper dolls. I’m so glad you’ve been motivated to start your owl journal! If you’d like more inspiration you might enjoy some of the other videos I have in my owl journal playlist. Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment! ~Kathy xo
