I was very much impressed by the quality of this production. It's a means of education; It covers all the important moral dilemmas in science. But astonishingly it's also just a quite attractive and entertaining, well produced, well acted, well directed exciting movie. I recommend it to anyone who is in any way interested in science!
I want to be a scientist.
10/10. Science cannot prevail only through the discoveries of scientists but for students and professionals in the art industry to explain these concepts to lay people.
So thank you, to those dedicated to the arts to produce this wonderful film.
This is a must-see for every first-year's in university. Highly informative while being highly entertaining.
this is a film that they force us to see in our PhD student academic integrity courses int he Netherlands. so it was made for the academic integrity courses
assigned to watch this for my midterms, quite surprised that this really captures my interests! As a student whose rarely pay attention to scientific research topics or science in general, this has really opened up my eye. Props to all the ones behind this entertaining yet educational production!
It is intriging how Leiden University has captured the dark side of
undersearch in the university life. In companies it is very different
cookie, as there they look out much better. We should learn from this
and adapt! 10/10!
With friendly greet,

Well-written and quality acting. An unbeatable combination.
This is most definitely a must see. I do agree with Erwin van Sas that this short film should be shown to all first university students should they wish to pursue further education. They get to learn about the consequences of plagiarism.
Nice movie.. Well said "researchers need to take charge to control global warming instead only creating reports and data"
Issue here is finding if it does not make money nobody cares ar least chemical engineers can get the money to do it
Leiden city plays the lead role in this! Well done!
This is gripping! If all educational material can be so riveting, our universities and schools would be brimming with students. Encore! More, please!
this is the movie that should be promoted to alot of people. this is the movie tht made me purscue the science apth that iam on today.
Gladly again at the good side of Internet...😀😀😎👍👍👍👍
a very good film for science students
Nice! Will the video's become available under a Creative Commons license as well? Currently the standard RUclips License makes it harder for me to reuse the video's.
great movie and educational material. Thank you!
Must see stuff for students..... And professors
Nice movie covering research ethics
Nice movie for a beginner in science.
I am impressed with the movie.
A very good movie .. for science interested students
Great movie. A must watch for every science student and researcher. But I did not get how they cleared Rebecca at the end? She committed plagiarism but how the Professor could gave her a clean chit only because of a mood swing????
A good movie idea, but I think the ethics aspects here were not clear for the viewers.
Really very informative!
What are you guys learn in this Movie?
I love this😟😟
What is the cite to the Lancet article he mentions at about 56:00?
Who is pierre descartin in this story
I came here because of my Ethics class in Radboud umc
oh ximi!
7:37 is this real?
I wish I could use this in my teaching at my university in the UK, but unfortunately the strong accents and mispronunciations of a great many words (plagiarism!) would mean that my students wouldn't stop laughing. Pity, because I really like the way so many important ethics topics are woven together in an engaging story. However, please don't teach students that adding a reference to a sentence copied verbatim will 'fix' it... it will still be plagiarism. And perhaps change 'chemestry' in the credits. But I applaud the effort!
I surely hope university students wouldn't be childish enough to laugh that much about non native english speakers having accents and mispronouncing a few words.
Léa R. I agree. Uni students shd be able to appreciate different accents don’t mean poorer English. Plus much of the pronunciation in the video wasn’t bad at all. The message is also well delivered, and that’s the most important thing.
This comment sounds very belittling; not at all what I expected from a university lecturer.
It is phantastic vidio
14:14 that casting was spot on if their role was a PhD candidate, unfortunately, they obviously played undergrads, smh
I like science
20:23 ah yes, the fucking noise is accurate
It gives a simplistic picture of the dilemmas in science and an unrealistic picture how research takes place. Also, a student would never be punished for plagiarism because there is one sentence without a reference in an unpublished first draft. The stereotypical, old fashioned picture of bright young female students working with powerful middle aged male professors... meh, cheap. Why not include bright male students, or female professors.
I was forced to watch this for class. The cinematography is good. Everything else is garbage. The acting is mediocre, the script and characters are awful, you don't care about the plot, and the lessons it wants to teach do not come across at all. This is shame ful.
This is what happens when you are forced to watch something
show us at least one example of audiovisual material that could present these scientific ethical discussions in such intriguing manner...shameful is your unfounded criticism.
Agreed
@@reagancapwell685 Agreed and i wasnt forced to watch it.
