    This is what I’ve been looking for, you don’t realise Christine how much those words of yours made my spirits high, I’m literally tearing up. I’m a women from an underdeveloped country trying to pursue career in physics and people don’t realise how much we have to work out way through it and chafe against the dictates of the society, especially where I’m living. This talk taught me to find that balance between caregiving and work, I’m never giving up and work my best to make things work. I love you, thank you for inspiring words, much appreciated ❤

    I'm in the middle of Biology school and I was wondering how things will change now that I'm pregnant, and this video inspired me so much. It inspired me to not give up on my dreams. Amazing!

    Really inspiring talk. Man who succed in science have in general a strong women at home taking care of everything - they quite often tend to take it for granted. But times are changing and with a bit of luck (supportive partners, supportive institutions, etc.) and a great sense of balance, families can do operate as a fertile environment for the scientist's career - and for the first time I realize now how beneficial it can also be to kids to have scientist moms!

      Actually is more common to find a highly successful scientist who are single

    Plants get help from animals woodpeckers eat beetles which can kill trees, and wasp kills aphids that can kill flowers. The waste from animals also give nutrients to the plants. insects and other animals spread their seeds.

      Most US universities have reasonable support for professors having little kids. Easier than other jobs.

    We can't only compare numbers. The most important thing is qualifications, I am not gonna hire a woman over a man who are more qualified just because she is a woman

    • @tortolito56
      @tortolito56 4 года назад +12

      How are you sure this is about qualification?
      She's not saying that women have to be hired just because they're women
      She pointed the the statistics and the reality for women in science
      This can be for many reasons, but the most terrible is patriarchy, which has to be overcome in order to improve this situation

    • @musab000
      @musab000 4 года назад +1

      @@tortolito56 she is comparing between the numbers of male and female scientists, how does that have anything to do with the patriarchy?!! The difference in numbers could have many reasonable reasons

    • @tortolito56
      @tortolito56 4 года назад +14

      @@musab000 due to the reason she clearly says
      Society and men expect women to have the full responsibility for their son, despite nowadays in most of the cases both of the parents work
      Moms in particular and women in general are affected by this social conduct
      And this, my friend, is part of patriarchy

      How about you watch the video and try to understand it before spouting out your idiotic misogynistic views?!
      I know it may be hard for you but please try, so that you won't embarrass yourself like this again..

      I mean if you hire someone because they're capable, irrespective of their gender, that's fabulous
