However, I am confused because this video in and of itself, to me, is calming, interesting, quite normal, benign and uncontroversial, yet has attracted some triggered reactions and comments, am I missing something, make it make sense.
There is a deep and long standing argument in USA and much of the west over whether The People should be armed, or entrust the government with our safety. And then another argument exists as to whether the people should be allowed to have weapons of war, or just basic self defense weapons. And then yet another argument exists as to whether semi automatic rifles are weapons of war alongside automatic weapons, or if they are just semi auto rifles. A lot to unpack in western neo-marxist vs neo-conservative behavior. I believe in freedom for all and I believe in holding men [and women] accountable ONLY for the harm that they do to others or their property. I do not believe in preemptively suspending liberty in any way for any sort of attempt to "prevent crime"
Love your content and agree, and know your walk was for the video, but personally, i never use my weapons scope to determine what i am looking at. If its pointed i am ready to pull the pin on a identified object. It all comes from a elk hunting incident in a mountain slide. I came out near the top of a slide on a evening hunt, and witnessed a guy 200 yds, looking at me, through his shouldered rifle, waved my arms looked at him again still did not drop his rifle, so i shouldered up, in a knee squat pulled off the safety, and put his chest dead centre. He saw that and quickly dropped his rifle down and moved on. If he accidently/purposefully shot me, two bodies would be found on that mountain. The big city boys would usually shoot each other about once every two or three years. Your foggy day reminds me great way to see a old big whitetail buck moving about to find his does. Thanks for your video efforts
I'm a bit too suburban for taking my rifle for walks. Tends to frighten the horses, so to speak. But I'm always armed. You should probably carry binos for identifying objects, pointing a rifle at someone to get ID is a no-no.
Was gonna mention that too.. but then figured this is likely private property. But still... she SHOULD NOT use the Riflescope for ID purposes. We just recently obtained a little property and have some sketchy trees in want rid of ... im gonna try n do it myself ,I need a bigger chainsaw I have a little still ms180 with a 16in bar ... it has no power and might do better with a smaller bar ... not sure ... I need a 20-24 bar for some of the bigger stuff ...what kind of saw would you recommend? I'm debating between stihl or huskavarna... (I feel like I spelled that wrong) lol
Man, I might be the wrong person to ask. I have a very strong bias against stihl, and I have zero experience with the new autotuned huskies. I'd recommend a 372 to a person who is experienced at maintenance, but pretty much any manufacturer who makes a saw in the power class you're looking for, probably 70cc or so, will probably get the job done just fine.
@timberfallingcouple awesome thanks for the reply ... why do you not like stihl? ...im starting my own bias against them lol ... im forever working on this thing ...like an old Harley 😂😅 I clean the plug every other day...air filter daily ...ive had the exhaust off n disassembled trying to get better air flow ...it's getting better , but still no real power ...im running nothing but canned engineered fuel ... it sat n wasn't used ( I couldn't get it to start) for like a year till I tried canned gas ...im thinking I gotta tear off n clean the carb 🤷♂️ ...and buy a better saw
@nomadsland5078 yeah my issues with stihl has been against their engineering department. They have been engineering the most chintzy machines possible. All of the common breakage points are weaker than ever before. Things are mounted to the machine in a goofy way and on plastic tabs. The carbs are not good. But if you look to my comments section there are thousands of people whove had no pro lems at all. I think my problems are subjective, because I expect the new stuff to be at least as durable as a ms660 or as durable as an equivalent husqvarna and they are quite simply not. I felt like I scammed myself buying them against my better judgment. But the tough one is, I can not vouch for the durability of any of the 5 series huskies either. If I remember correctly there was a 585 that was very similar to 385. But I don't even know if they make it anymore, and I'm fairly certain the 390, 372, and 395 are all getting discontinued.
@timberfallingcouple thank you very much for the help 😎 ...im going to keep my eyes open for a good used one ... but keep looking at the new ones n asking folks like you who know better than I do ...I have one big sketchy one to drop ... big hollow maple with a split n tops going up and downhill toward the giant hemlock by my house 🤯 lol ... im gonna try to rent a big machine to get me up as high as possible to take it apart from above n maybe tug with my jeep n pullys ... idk... im not gonna drop that one first , it is getting windy tho lol spring is a coming

If you were to ask me, I would say that that is Germany. The pine trees are all the same size and they're planted in rows. I've never seen a cultivated forest of only pines in the U.S. altough they may exsist, I've never seen one.
@@timberfallingcouple you are exactly right as I was going to say the same thing as you did but not so much for the west cost, as it had been a standard over time for many, many land owners to plant pines (in areas they flourish) and other trees to help establish property boundaries! Most of the fenced properties that weren’t continuously maintained, ultimately had a solid tree line due to bird droppings with native seeds in the region!
I live in Georgia and planted pines are all over the southern part of the state, millions of acres of them. I fact hurricane Helene destroyed over 1.5 million acres of them. I personally lost about 50 acres of my planted pines.

@ Ok, but incorrect terminology tends to confuse some people. A firearms owner should be using correct terminology when speaking to a mixed audience of firearm owners and non-firearms owners.
@@timberfallingcouple No, clips are not slang for magazines. They are their own unit. "Simply put, a magazine holds the ammunition of a loaded repeating rifle and helps feed it into the chamber as the rifle’s action is worked. A clip, on the other hand, is a device used to help load ammunition into a magazine." "Both “clip” and “magazine” describe a device used to help feed ammunition into a repeating firearm, but they’re not the same thing." (Field and Stream)

@timberfallingcouple Makes me feel like google can't see me when its foggy.

Haha the pups. It in hunting mode 👍
Great video! I like your patrol puppy. Hiking with your rifle is a good idea. It will become second nature. Now if I can get my 4 y/o Ridgeback and 7 y/o choc lab to stop grab-assing and get serious (basically impossible) Ill be good.
OUTSTANDING ❤
Should have suppressor on weapon, too; protect hearing! Great video, thank you!
A left handed person walking with a dog, a rifle & a camera person?
A fine morning walk.
well done keep on rucking.
I couldn't tell ya how many times I had hunting trips like this into the foggy forest of Kentucky with my trusty and loyal black Lab. Nothing unusual to see armed folks like me enjoying the outdoors. I remember one time I was stopped by the police for a brake light out (it was) I had three weapon in the truck! Officer explained why he stopped me and noticed my guns and with out missing a beat complemented me about my SCAR 17H rifle that was with me and how he was thinking of buying one. Long story short we chatted for about 5 mins about the plus and minus of the SCAR-H then he shook my hand and started walking back to his car and with a friendly grin reminded me to get the brake light fix! That's Kentucky gun culture in a nut shell!
Sadie needs to drop the chicken wing when glassing. Otherwise, it sticks out and becomes a target.
Looks like a beautiful place.
Outstanding patrol, Miss. Use binos to observe. Stay sharp 👍🏻
Nice ... practicing being sneaky while under a load is good too ... sometimes you just CAN'T be quiet ... I try to make my steps in those instances NOT sound human ... no step..step..step.. I play with different animal imitation...squirrels n chipmunks are noisy af n not terribly hard to imitate

I tried to do that and I was surrounded by police in 15 minutes

I always carry a rifle when I hike in the mountains but it can cause problems. A game warden can accuse you of poaching so I stay off hiking trails to avoid everyone
If a game warden wrongfully accused an innocent american of something or threatened his life or liberty, it might be the last thing he ever did.
Sometimes, my rifle likes to take ME for a walk.
If you're practicing patrolling, avoid open areas. Use concealment to mask your movements and practice strict noise discipline. In that way, you can spot or hear anyone or anything before they spot or hear you.
I am Australian, this is the first video that I have watched from your channel, and after seeing the other content on your channel, I have subscribed.
Also, thanks for coming out. Welcome.
Beautiful property. Got some old timber there.
Get inside the tree line. Move from tree to tree. Stay out of the open.
The real deal!
It is NOT a fun moment to turn your 15x binos around on your tripod.. only to see a 15yo girl pointing a rifle at you... DEAD FREAKING ON... 200yds away. EEK!!
You're an absolute moron if you think I'd use my scope to positively ID a human. This was a drill being practiced, please take your head out of your ass and use it correctly.
@@timberfallingcouple Obviously.. since it happened to me... I KNOW some people do it. AND.. as you can imagine... somebody whose experienced that life/death terror would have it on his heart to mention that rule, and why it's important, and how dangerous it is. Obv I do not know you therefore I cannot assume what you do and don't know. So..in that regard YOU are the moron.. if you think ANY Mu' Fvcka on the InterWebz is just going to assume you know WTF you're doing when they see something that looks like that. So kindly go and unfvckify yourself. Treat me with respect? You'll get respect back. "Don't Start None, Won't BE None." words I encourage you to learn. Long story shorter? You DON'T scan the terrain with your Riflescope. EVER.
I voiced a legitmate safety concern, and, didn't disrespect you. THEN? YOu go and disrespect me. THEN.. I go and reply... and look at that.. just as quickly you delete it, huh? Pvss.
"You're a moron if..."
2:13 shouldered kinda high, no?
Absolutely, it's a new drill Phil threw at me while we were out there. Raising the rifle to your eye without moving your neck or head, it'll get better with practice.
@nomadsland5078 spring is hopefully coming fast this year

If you were to ask me, I would say that that is Germany. The pine trees are all the same size and they're planted in rows. I've never seen a cultivated forest of only pines in the U.S. altough they may exsist, I've never seen one.
@@fizickul71 you ought to check out the west coast some time
@@timberfallingcouple It would be nice but my traveling days are done. Enjoy the west coast before it falls into the ocean.🙂
No, I don't mean literally go there. A simple google search will show you forests like this for millions of acres.

Pretty sure the lower that's under it is a Blemished Aero, but can't remember for sure. All of our lowers are dirt cheapie mix-n-match.
I am not very knowledgeable on firearms but do you mean magazines, not clips?
@mianki100 clips are a slang term, yes for magazines. We generally presume so and use that presumption to understand what people are saying instead of fixating on language minutia in order to belittle one another.
There are some that do, but I strongly urge agai st that kind of behavior, and only conduct myself in such a manner when I'm trying to pick apart an "expert" who can't get his info straight.
Thanks for coming out.
Stick around. Lots of very good, knowledgeable guys around.

Ok, but incorrect terminology tends to confuse some people.
A clip, on the other hand, is a device used to help load ammunition into a magazine."
"Both “clip” and “magazine” describe a device used to help feed ammunition into a repeating firearm, but they’re not the same thing." (Field and Stream)
How long do you typically stay out and what do you carry in your backpack?
We go anywhere between an hour and 3 hours, typically. Not too long. Just long enough to get the crystals out of my uric acid deposits.
The pack pack is a 3 day bag with changes of clothes, water purification, first aid, 3 day dehydrated food supply, full ammo loadout etc.

@dennisclapp2302 we definitely don't need people like you who feel strongly enough to tell others what to do.
