I love your vids man! Although I might add, that their so called net income is a business trick. Amazon has come with the model that they do not need to run the company for profits as they do not need short term profits. As a result, Amazon just plays a different game, they're being innovative without worrying about bringing in 20% of GP from every dollar you bring in. They stay break-even and innovative rather than being profitable. As Scott Galloway so beautifully said it "profits are to investors what heroine is to an addict".
When the rumour came out that Amazon was thinking of expanding its retail footprint in Australia to include the rest of their product offerings, the share price of the two main retailers JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman took a big hiccup. I'm hoping it does come true and not fiction for us.
(In response to Kaustubh) Amazon only sells books in Australia. To order other products, we have to go to the international site or the American site, and on there, most sellers do not ship to Australia. The ones that do, charge a lot of money.
I'd love to see an Amazon part 2 video. Or how Walmart can quickly convert their physical locations to hubs and provide viable competition. Wonderful video!

I was an engineer at AWS until I left for a competitor in 2018. AWS was accounting for 38% of net profits for Amazon prior to internal number shuffling to make it appear less lucrative and to cover for underperforming retail projects. It’s a cutthroat work environment where you’re worked to death and stabbed in the back regularly, but they are farming wealth 24 hrs a day and the work is very rewarding despite its drawbacks
*Amazon is very rich.* They waste money, because money is easy for them. In my local office park, Amazon is the only company that does not switch off the lights at night. Not sure why, but they do that, even if there is no person in the office. Maybe they have a lousy facility manager or just too much money to spend.

For all you Apple people out there, did you notice how much profit they make compared to everyone else? Yet they have an abysmal charity record. The thing with apples is that they eventually turn rotten after a long period of time.
A few things I would add to this 1. the FBA - "Fulfilled By Amazon" - service they sell allowing other retailers to use their fulfilment centres. This is a physical analog to their cloud services in that they are just providing the back-end. 2. It would be interesting to hear if they have any competitors. I can't think of any on the same scale. 3. Some more details on the Kiva robots and the picking process. From other videos I have seen elsewhere whole shelves are brought by the robot to a picking station in the required order so the human picker doesn't walk around anymore. This also means the warehouse can be packed more tightly and doesn't need lighting or air-conditioning. Good video nonetheless. Tx.

Fun fact: 1. AWS cloud business in market share is 2 twice to next 18 competitors put together. 2. Flipkart started in India exactly the same way by Ex-Amazon employees and now is the number 1 e-retail company in India....
I work at an amazon sortation center which is the next step after the mentioned fulfillment center basically we get the big trucks of packages and then sort those into certain pallets for certain areas. And I can tell you that amazon is indeed a pain in the ass to work at, at least at the sortation center in which I work. It's pretty much nonstop moving, wrapping, stacking, sorting etc of packages that range from from huge to small. They also make you stay almost an hour over just about every shift especially during peak and the site managers don't really have the record of being on the ball so to speak. But it's pretty much an entry level job so no need for me to bitch really
I can personally vouch for Amazon when it comes to their inventory of books. I get just about any book I want, even those that are out of print in short order. Oh , did I mention that most of those books are now in electronic form. It doesn't get any better than this and IMHO, this is what technology is supposed to do. It's supposed to bring real value and utility to your life and Amazon literally delivers the goods.
I published a couple books on Amazon, then got in trouble with Amazon when they appeared elsewhere on the net. I had to write a note on this form to get outa Amazon's doghouse. It went something like, “Forgive me, Amazon, for I have sinned. I promise to reform my evil ways, and promise that I will sin no more.” BTW, I suggest that Amazon's CEO have an employee riding in his lemo whose job it is to whisper in his ear, “remember, thou art mortal.”
The income gap is just so fun to deal with, isn't it? If the economy were treated more fairly we'd be able to afford things to improve our health and lives without having to save for weeks, months, even years. I had to save for almost 3 years just to afford this laptop I'm typing on right now, and it wasn't even that expensive for what it is ($875 for a decent laptop for music production, video editing, and occasional gaming). The system is rigged against the masses. We need change.

and Barnes & Nobles,
eBay can kiss my ass, eBay still exist??
eBay is still very useful and it offers opportunities for anyone wanting to start their own business online. They also offer fast delivery and sell new products as well.

I love Amazon. I practically live on it.
Of course, you're jewish, damn - like Bezos.
I've never used it
So does that mean amazon clouds store my bank details? O.o
Mitsubishi should be the next business
Pernection, it's too bad they aren't doing too good right now.
Fun fact:
"Adob systems" LOL
that the real name
He pronounced it without the E
I laughed a little when I hear that too, I haven't heard anyone say "uh-dowb" before lol
oh lol i didn't notice
A dope system mate
Why don't uni professors lecture like this???
Please do How BIG is ColdFusion. :P
I published a couple books on Amazon, then got in trouble with Amazon when they appeared elsewhere on the net. I had to write a note on this form to get outa Amazon's doghouse. It went something like, “Forgive me, Amazon, for I have sinned. I promise to reform my evil ways, and promise that I will sin no more.”
BTW, I suggest that Amazon's CEO have an employee riding in his lemo whose job it is to whisper in his ear, “remember, thou art mortal.”
Does global online retail have potential to grow?.. COVID-19: hold my beer...
man why don't you do another video of this series on alibaba!!!
I thought that aol owned the Washington post. corp.aol.com/brands
it says it's one of there brands on this page.
AOL owns the Huffington Post, not the Washington. You know that 10pc paper which contradicts itself every time.
thanks for correcting me, I confused the too.
Two, looks like you confused the free as well, oops, I mean three!

I love Amazon! I trust it more than Ebay.
Why
I just love that the guy said, "Yo! Just cause you don't get it, doesn't mean our algorithm is wrong." ( 8:50 )
Again. Great video. Keep up the good work!
Does anyone just go on amazon and look at cool shit and think thats what i cant afford let me add that to the cart
SeanHasYT I know right?!😂
Hell yeah
The income gap is just so fun to deal with, isn't it? If the economy were treated more fairly we'd be able to afford things to improve our health and lives without having to save for weeks, months, even years. I had to save for almost 3 years just to afford this laptop I'm typing on right now, and it wasn't even that expensive for what it is ($875 for a decent laptop for music production, video editing, and occasional gaming). The system is rigged against the masses. We need change.
@@mikeexits hell yeah dude
Sad git
