Can we get more insight on why Mono PERC shall be used instead of TOPCon for Commercial solar plants. Is it right to recommend Mono PERC Instead of TOPCon?

Mono PERC is recommended over TOPCon for commercial solar plants because it offers a good balance of high efficiency, proven reliability, and lower costs. The manufacturing process for Mono PERC is mature and cost-effective, making it a more economical choice with a robust supply chain. While TOPCon provides slightly higher efficiencies, its higher production costs and emerging technology status make Mono PERC the more practical and lower-risk option for current commercial installations.

I will share some insight. In general understanding about TOPCon in india is very poor. In Europe, USA and other developed countries most of the plants are using TOPCON. Topcon has been rtprpoved and is in use since January 2023.saying it's not proves indicates that people are not upto date. It is true that DCR Top Con is not proven as indian manufacturer doesn't have technology for Cell Manufacturing, Wafer or ingot manufacturing. My question was for commercial plants which does not have to adhere to DCR or ALMM list.

Till date did not get justifiable answer to this question. If you ask me what is the recommended, I will recommend to go ahead with Non ALMM Topcon from Trina, ZNShine, JA Solar. You can get these at 18 INR per Watt with 22.5 percent cell efficiency and 25 year product warranty. As Designer one can do analysis whether it is worthwhile to invest in 22.5 percent efficiency,. 4 percent degradation or 20 percent efficiency Mono PERC with 0.8 percent annual degradation.
Most of the manufacturers doesn't want to guide correctly to end user this is the story of domestics solar market.

On the other hand, TOPCon panels offer even higher efficiency and improved performance in low light conditions. The choice between the two depends on specific project requirements and budget considerations.
