BBC Radio 4 had a whole season of 'Gothic' drama in October/November of 1996, and I've uploaded a couple of examples previously (Mysteries of Udolpho and The Devil's Kiss). This one was broadcast as a Saturday Night Theatre and I don't think it's been repeated on the digital channels since. Instead, BBC7 had a four-part reading of the story performed by Joanna David (which again, I've previously uploaded).
Because this play is taken from an analogue source it is of course slightly less sharp in terms of sound quality than most of what I upload - but this tale of a haunted violin is definitely worth a listen...
MYSTERIOUS MAGPIE is a channel devoted to ghost and horror stories on British radio, and to dark tales of every kind. I have another channel, MYSTICAL MAGPIE, which is all about stories of fantasy, mythology, and adventure: / @mysticalmagpie-wo5fn

Hi. Thank you for this upload. I am more familiar with the reading that you referred to, but it is nice to have the dramatisation as well because I like comparing and contrasting the different versions. I have never heard this dramatisation on the radio before so this is a first time listen for me.
