If your looking for something to be played with, you can always get the Freedom Gundam MSIA, which is basically an action figure roughly 1/144 size, but less detail that you would get from a model since these are mass produced.
This is a great kit , I am building this one now and it is turning out nice.
i have a tip for the booster for the legs in front like the outside part of the booster colour it gray
I have this guy...I just haven't had much time to build him. I also have strike freedom but it is a pain in the ass to try and pose...especially with the wings. On mine, not sure if it's done this with everyone else, the wings would always wind up flopping down, falling off, and pieces went everywhere. Great review for the original Freedom. Now I know what I'll be getting into when I finally build him.

The peg connecting the wings to the back pack tend to be quite fragile. It's probably the highest stressed point of the whole kit. Mine 1st broke on the left. Repaired it with superglue. Then the other side broke. It's now in a fixed pose, never to move again!
@Seekingtrue it still takes piloting skills cuz it is still tricky to use it even says that when your first see the the legend gundam
The 1/100 non-grade Freedom Gundam actually does have the gray parts on the head. i was quite impressed with that. tho overall i'm glad my sis got it in a grab-bag and gave it to me for free...i miss the full burst mode :(

I really want this kit, even If It Is old, I actually prefer older kits to the newer ones because they are much sturdier.
when I look at this and than look at my custom painted MG Wing Zero "Hikaru Special" on my shelf, I really wanna kitbash and make a hybrid I did a sketch of years ago :p

different in scale and MG have internal skeleton. 1/60 don't have.
no, the upper (Waist) body just rotate left and right, the newest version of MG have a lot of mobility in the waist
Nice review on the model. One thing I wanna point out is that the guns on Freedom's wings are positron cannons, not railguns.
the old videos are way better without having so much parts , just the review in one video
@suburiboy you should watch seed, some hate the story, but one thing is for sure, Music and gundam designs are pretty much up there on the number 1 list.
This gundam is easily the best design in the last decade.
@TK4541 Well the Strike freedom is much worse in that aspect. And the railguns are actually railguns since they did not penetrate phase shift armor in the series. And remember this series was made with the purpose of attempting an attempt at something similar to the Gundam Wing series, yet at the same time be a huge mix of previous gundam series for various reasons.
the clear parts one just comes with an extra box with clear armour parts
I made this in 5 hours..It was really worth the time.
Nothing really wrong...but on mine the right arm seems to be not fully in place...and i tried to push the arm in the socket as much as i can but no luck ;d
Stickers for the rifle absolutely suck...so i just colored it with a blue gundam marker..and IT LOOKS JUST AS GOOD :D
i have built the realgrade version of the freedom gundam, only one problem. The shoulder armor pieces are VERY loose. You could shake the model and the armor would turn sideways XD
I love this suit but I don't know if they have a ver 2.0 in the works. They did for the Strike.
Well, frankly speaking. One time i was passing by a department store which sells the Gundam Model kit. I saw the 1/100 No Grade Force Impulse Gundam from GSD for the first time.
I take a look at it, i was like, is this somehow the "upgrade" of Freedom? Because, the design of its body, but different color, was similar to the Freedom!
@6Baltej6 yes. all master grades, real grades and perfect grades have cockpits.

@Seekingtrue ok one in gundam seed the dragoon sysyem used by the providence was a hard to control system and the freedom barly beat it and in gundam seed and seed destiny there were only 4 gundams made with a dragoon pack so not everyone could use it they were used by strong pilots only acception to that is the akatsuki and he was able to use it cuz it was a diff operating system made for naturals and it was only one sided on the grunt suits not against the destiny witch thats how i think a
even if this kit is kinda old its badass badass
@steveMCHS then you obviously didnt pay attention to the "new" dragoon system, which was stupid because the computer did all the work and didn't involve piloting skills at all.
have u noticed that that gundam and gundam zero are quite alike kindof
because the dragoons don't work on earth in Gundam Seed. The wings would give him more weapons on earth. Just a thought.
@IceyTea95 : all master grades are in 1/100 scale. and the 1/144 ones are high grades nowadays.
So you don't have to paint a MG?
This was my first MG, and its a really good one for that because it does not need a whole lot of panel lining to look amazingly good.
It´s fun Because Freedom Head have The Strike Gundam Head Layout,Which is nearly impossible because ZAFT Never Acquired the Strike Gundam
I built mine in 7 hours! Not counting the still unapplied decals. :3

yeah, the hip cannons are railguns.

Rrobbert184: The railguns are actually the guns located at the hips and the ones on the wings are the plasma cannons.

whats the main difference between the freedom and the strike freedom besides the strike having 2 beam rifels that differ from the freedoms single beam rifles, and the wing design?

too bad for Strike Freedom Gundam doesn't have those cannons which mounted to the wings like Freedom Gundam.

@steveMCHS the Hi-Nu has funnels not dragoons. And it is a rip off because the concept is pretty obviously a reimaging the design from the Hi-Nu.

do you think you can open that certain part of the leg and super glue it. you probably get mad sometimes when ever you try to pose it. oh and i'm not a real fan of gondum by the way. but i still think thier cool

What is your favorite 1/144 model? I accidentally bought a stand for a 1/144 and don't want it to go to waste. I got it from Amazon and don't want to go through the hassle of shipping it back!

my gun on my MG freedom holds really well id rather have these hande then the new swap out fingers i hate them so much

rrobert184, the "seals" that you mentioned are applied with water? or the decals are the ones that need water?

@steveMCHS They proved that the freedom could beat the dragoons in SEED, and added it to its design, which was completely unnecessary. There was no real solid explanation to why suddenly a weapon that required superb spatial awareness was suddenly able to be used by everyone. Not to mention adding the Dragoons made fights so stupidly one-sided they became boring to watch. Its for that reason why series like 08th MS team were amazing, since battles were actually cool instead of ROFLSTOMP.

i finally got around to built the freedom yesterday :P
it was an incrediby underwhelming build in my opinion. it was just boring, nothing special at all. that might be because i have built some newer MGs though.
and it has quite a lot of flaws! the ankles are extremely lose, the connection between the torso and the waist is too lose when you have the back pack on and its generally awkward to pose...
i fully painted it though and put on the decals, that way it looks very awesome on my shelf^^

its a model, its not really meant in the direction to be played around with.. so it will probably wear down and fall apart..

I love Kira and Athrun ,my favorite sence of Gundam Seed is in episode 40, when the ship Kusanagi is launching, Freedom hold on to the ship then reach his hand out to catch Justice. Another sence is when Kira and Athrun stand face to face to each other, behind them is Freedom and Justice, that's epic

The Full Burst Mode variant of this was my first MG kit and it was actually really easy for me, just took a bit longer than I do now with MG kits.
I noticed that my infinite justice mg's forehead(Small red part) has a small words "ZGMF-X19A" however the freedom does not have it:(( isit an error on bandai or the freedom kit is just old?
Dear rrobbert 184 i love your review of the mg freedom it is one of my favorite mg's besides the mg god, wing, destiny. Just 3 month's ago i bought the ng freedom gundam since then i have been working on getting the mg freeom gundam
where do u get ur gundams? im a big fan of both the show and the models, but it is really expensive in the area that i live in.
@ZOMBIEGuNdAm00GSD999 my first kit was the MG strike freedom, too^^ it turned out rather nicely, i didnt really screw up at all.
Can't wait 2 build it but need 2 wait till Dec. ;(

@Seekingtrue gundam should be its not getting damaged in every fight the 8th MS team (btw u know where i can watch it online) where every fight he was in he was getting something damaged as well as all the gundams ect for the EZ8 were all the same now thats lame how theres 8 or more teams with all gundams eatch gundam should be diff and the piolets shouldnt be weak thats the way i see it even though its a good anime but still need to be diif gundams and not all the same
