  • Unboxed and setup the Midland WR120b Weather Alert Radio today. Instruction book is very meager and doesn't explain all the accessory ports. So if anyone has more info on those (Cloning port, External alert jack, etc) please post in the comments section. Menu, like most Midland radio products is not intuitive but I figured it out. I have it setup on the main floor and it feels nice having it there. Let me know what you think.

    I have two of the same radios, one in the game room and another upstairs in the kitchen. They are simple and easy to use.

    I ran a search on this radio and is its claim to be able to access commercial AM/FM radio true? If so, how do you get to AM/FM mode on the Midland WR120?

    On mine a small piece like the tip of the antenna chipped of during moving is that a problem or is it fine

  • @luiguibros4120
    @luiguibros4120 2 года назад +1

    I got mine since January for seismic alert in Mexico and it works perfectly; but I wonder if it's more important to have the antenna fully deployed but with NOAA blinking, or having the antenna almost in its minimal length but without the blinking.
    Signal is received better with the short antenna, but manual says I must have the antenna fully deployed

      I would set it however you get the best signal. Just my 2 cents.

    How do you reset my weather alert radio

  • @JoeSiegler
    @JoeSiegler 2 года назад

    I have one on order here. There any way to test the alarm sound when you first get it? I know there's a required weekly NOAA test signal, but that's just for functionality.
    I wish there was a way to test the actual alarm when you're setting it up.

    • @Alex-dw4iw
      @Alex-dw4iw 2 года назад +2

      If you keep going down in the menu there’s a subsection called ‘ALERT TEST’. This will start the alarm on selection. It’s loud, so be warned if you’re testing it without the knowledge of people around you.

      You set the state and county like I show. Then the channels are pre-set for you. Its an ancient menu system like all Midland products that sorely needs updating to this century at least.
