      When it comes to Motley Crue I'm pretty sure they didn't restrict themselves to cocaine. They pretty much had a reputation for if it could be snorted, ingested, injected or otherwise put into your body they were probably doing it. The fact that none of them were dead by the end of the decade is pretty much an unexplainable miracle.

    80s and 2010s pop are both meaningless and not talking about much, the difference is:
    80s: They knew it was meaningless and embraced all the flashy lights, makeup and full cheese
    2010s: They try to make it so serious and comes off stupid and cheesy in the wrong way

    • @spotfest7266
      @spotfest7266 5 лет назад +22

      Jboy11123 Despite what their music sounds like and whether that's to my taste or not, I will always respect an artist who writes their own material. Gaga does that. She tries to evolve constantly too which also deserves respect. She's not the manufactured pop star she has been labelled as. She can play multiple instruments too. She's extremely talented and if a music fan cant see that then they dont understand music.

    • @MisterMysticus
      @MisterMysticus 3 года назад

      I scrolled down to find out if anyone noticed that. Thank you :D this video basically: motley crue is mass produced pop shit, but riffs and/or solos kicks some serious ass! Also Vince Neil has a very good voice :D
      Obviously as a musician he doesn't want to deny their abillity to do some good solos and catchy riffs, but in the same time he has a need to distance himself from them and glam/hair metal as a whole because of their lyrics, messages, visual identity and maybe their lifestyle overall. It is true that glam metal became very mass produced in the second half of the 1980-s with their power ballads, but it seems to me that Motley Crue had enough creativity to do some memorable songs on every album in the eighties which made them huge.
      I think that "mass produced" and "catchy" are not necessarily the same things. Some songs are very catchy but they aren't mass produced in the sense that they sound the same like any of the songs that came out in the same time. For example, could anyone find the song that sounds exactly the same like Take me to the top, Live Wire, Looks that kill, Too young to fall in love, Shout at the devil, Home sweet home, Wild side, Kickstart my heart, Dr Feelgood? Even Girls girls girls haha There is something special in those songs when you hear them, that you never forget who is behind them. At least in my case :)

I went into it expecting one thing, but totally came out of it with a different impression. When the word "Opeth" came out of your mouth, I immediately paid more attention & started watching other vids.
    Long story short - your react vids to these other react vids led me to your channel & earned you a sub. I've watched some of your other content since then but have yet to fully explore it. Your views on a lot of music lines up with my own, and as a skeptical rocker in his 30s in Tennessee, I fucking enjoy the hell out of just listening to you. So, rock on, dude. \m/

    I would LOVE to get your full opinion on Alice Cooper, which I believe is why people love your thoughts on these videos. The videos showcase, usually, a vast selection of artist's work, and with certain bands you get alot of variety. Alice Cooper is the King of variety for an artist from the 70's, in my personal opinion. I really look forward to an eventual Alice Cooper review.

      Wouldn't be surprised, since MM himself does not do it for the music. The music is just a medium to accompany his music videos, the thing that Manson actually considers his forte as an artist.

      hey im a manson fan since 1995 from the beginning with portrait of an american family....ive followed his career for 21 years and can correctly answer everything there is to know about the man...ive read every interview, watched every interview from the beginning on Phil Donahue ....but the man has lost his touch when it comes to live shows...ive seen him on multiple occasions here in NC and its a 50/50 shot with him in recent years...i went to a 96 show down in Florida and that shit was so fucking raw and and powerful...now he drinks too much and hes falling everywhere half the time...it just makes me want to cry because he is talented....but his voice and health arent the greatest these days...but i will always love him for what he did for me for years when i wanted to leave this place and he kept me here

  • @RandeT73
    @RandeT73 6 лет назад +4

    Motley Crue was known for their theatrics, they were total adrenaline junkies. They did open the doors for a lot more glam and hair bands. It was admittedly, by several bands, a gimmick to get chicks. This was during the time when they were drug addicts and alcoholics. Yeah Hair bands were poppy and pop culture of the 80's and very early 90's. Those glam bands had more girls than guys at their concerts.

    I think the whole reason I like Motley Crue is because of the fact that there is no meaning behind their music. It's just mindless fun to listen to while drunk and that's good enough for me.

    That's the thing I miss the most about 80s hair bands Mike. Freaking epic guitar solos and also the high pitched voices. Washed down or formulaic it may be, but those two things made them superiorly talented. Spot on man!
