I got a virtual visit with the main man tomorrow! Can't wait!!! Been a fan since I was a tot--and at 42 im still a fan!!!! Got all is albums and DVD's! What a great interview!
@@thomasisatwin you can mention to him how influential he has been to you and your fondest memories and mention that you watched my interview with him and let him know you have Autism too and ask him when he would like to meet.
@@thomasisatwin ok you can do so. We could schedule a Zoom call and you can introduce me to your family. Send me an email. My email is on the about section on my channel
His music is so good even for grown-ups such as myself who have been through a lot especially in these times Sometimes you just have to take three steps and twirl and run around the room a little bit to find joy It really is the little things Excellent music for teaching kids as well
Hap Palmer is a living legend. I never lost my respect for him even as I grew out of his targeted audience. I didn't even know his name at the height of my interest in his music but I did know his voice. It's the kind of voice where no matter when you hear it you have to turn your attention towards the voice no matter what you think of the music. I am both autistic and a musician.
Touché. His music will forever hold a special place in my heart and soul no matter how old I am. I still listen to and watch the music video to Colors every so often. I was so fortunate to have gotten to speak to him.
@@KennyValdivia95 I wish I could be so lucky. I’m a jazz musician which is very different from Palmer’s work. But he’s still a hero to me whenever I stop a while and think of him.
Another great Video Kenny. It’s good to watch. Good how he is talking about reel to reel. Someday I may buy one just to put display. He is right about it being better in person.
I first heard of Hap Palmer songs when I worked at a Teachers Supply store in Anaheim. I loved the CD covers. Then when I had my first baby, the Anaheim Library on Euclid st had Mommy and Me class where the songs were played! I love his songs!!!
I always loved Hap's songs and grew up with him too. I wanted to interview him too so I am glad someone did, so curious how he got his start. My favorite song of Haps' is original recording of: Witches Brew, I performed puppet shows to it for many years.
He's definitely one cool dude! I've been watching his videos since the early 2000s. I watched Baby Songs, More Baby Songs and Even More Songs; I also watched Turn on The Music a little while later. Thanks for publishing this interview, buddy! 👍🏻
I first heard his music when I was 3 back in 2003, when I owned the VHS releases of Baby Songs ABC, 123, Colors & Shapes, and Baby Songs Animals (both are the original Anchor Bay Entertainment releases)
@@KennyValdivia95 And I realized that beginning in 2000, the Baby Songs theme sounded more slightly remixed, higher quality and lower pitched, compared to the 1999 releases which sounded more original like it was when it was first heard in the 1980s. sounded a little bit higher pitched and sounded slightly lower quality to the tune and here are some videos where you can find the 2 different versions of the Baby Songs theme. ruclips.net/video/YgbWxROTjtw/видео.html (remixed high quality low pitched version) ruclips.net/video/P2wGNtIkSwU/видео.html (original low quality high pitched version) The original high pitched low quality version was heard from 1987 to 1999. However the original high pitched low quality version was surprisingly heard at the end of the 2000 VHS of Baby Songs Animals, while the remixed low pitched high quality version was heard at the beginning. ruclips.net/video/ICAYhr5eqDY/видео.html
@@KennyValdivia95 And the original high pitched low quality version also adds funky synthesizer notes at the end of the song, while the remixed one does not have the synthesizer notes at the end during the last 7 notes.
@@KennyValdivia95 I even thought of a custom VHS release from November 30, 1999, called Hap Palmer's Greatest Hits. with 15 songs instead of 10. The songs would be 1. Baby's Good Doggie 2. Walking 3. Peek a Boo 4. Tap Your Sticks 5. Betty Beep 6. My Baby 7. Security 8. Raggedy Rag Doll Friend 9. Wash Rag Blues 10. Alphabet In Motion 11. We're On Our Way 12. So Big 13. Rub a Dub 14. Teddy Bear 15. Bean Bag Alphabet Rag. It's the last release to have the original low quality high pitched theme full time at both the beginning and the end.
I have four CDs, each of which are Hap Palmer albums which my first and second grade teacher used to play.

Awesome I’m glad you got to talk to him
Hap Palmer definitely has a heart of gold sharing his talent to children everywhere...encouraging them to move and be active. Great interview Kenny!
Even after decades, his songs NEVER stop to satisfy when revisiting my youth.
I find it interesting how he picks songs depending on the mood of the children.
Great video! Keep up the great work!
So great! Colors was and still is a great song to move around to! Hap you are a legend!
I may be 23, but Hap Palmer’s singing always makes me feel nostalgic and emotional, especially with “A New World To Explore”.
