Thanks! The reason it's good quality is that it's sourced from an in-store promo VHS for the compilation album. I wasn't aware until recently that such things existed. It's also where I uploaded the Pump It Up '88 ads from (an in-store VHS for that album). I've also got similar tapes for 88 The Winners and Hits Now '89 Volume 2 - uploads of the ads forthcoming.

I literally wore out this tape after buying it. Loved it and it became a constant part of the Walkman.
