there clipped in places and just have 2 screws on the trim around the rear screen.
Thanks for this. Am hoping to replace the DAB amplifier in my ŠKODA Karoq as useless reception. I’m hoping it’s similar to this vid and assume the amplifier is the long thin part in the bottom right of your vid at the end of the vid.
it is and the boot plastic trim will be the same. can I ask have you had a dash cam fitted on the rear window as these cause lots of dab issues.
@@FINDITFIXITRESTOREITBUILDIT just managed to get the trim off. Unfortunately I don’t have a front or rear dash cam. I just removed the trim and can see the amplifier. It’s right next to the automatic tailgate bleeper speaker so not sure if that would cause interference. I removed the amplifier and the car doesn’t receive any DAB then buy funnily enough still receives FM really well so at least I know I’ve got the correct part number to replace. Have seen one on eBay so for the sake of £30 I might give it a go. I cleaned the existing one but it still doesn’t seem to receive Absolute 80s etc or any on the SDL range.
the fm is a different antenna and probably on the roof or other side of the rear window. nothing oem will affect it so the beeper won't. try a replacement booster or check it's getting power and no fuses have blown.
@@FINDITFIXITRESTOREITBUILDIT thanks. I’ve just ordered one from a scrapped 2023 model so newer then mine. I read on a Škoda forum that replacing the aerial amplifier helped someone else and they were having problems with the same stations as me so fingers crossed. The dealer I bought the car from leant me a Škoda Kamiq for a week whilst mine was being repaired and the Kamiq DAB was spot on and didn’t miss a beat. Škoda tested mine and said it works as it’s supposed to and probably just the area I live in but the Kamiq proved this not correct as worked fine. The trim in the boot was way easier to remove than the A pillar.
