Hi Nurse JAR, I just passed my skill exam today doing this exact skill after failing it before. Thank you for posting this, I watched this video a few times, practiced it on my 14 y.o. daughter a few times, wrote out each step, memorized it, prayed and went on with confidence. I have to retake my knowledge for the 3rd time and pray that I pass that also. Blessings to you and all of the other students that are also learning world wide. 🙌🏽❤❤

Suggest to using the 'Telison positioning bed pad with handles', which will be more convenient to help patient on turning/sitting up/lifting. It could be ordered from US amazon.
Without Mr Kevin I would still be in abject poverty struggling with my life, that’s the greatest testimony gotten so far after years of great loss here on RUclips, I do thank him and I am grateful.
It was hard to see as the sheet was in the way. Also do we need to put up the side rails. You are awesome, I take my exam on March 30th. I've watched your videos, very precise and organized
Thank you for the video. So it’s been since 2014 since my license lapsed. So I’m going back to take it. I know there’s the written, but wasn’t sure about the clinical part. How many questions? Are we going to practice on a person as well come test day. I’m in Ct. Thank you
Hi, Musiclover! If you are testing under Prometric, no, you do not need to raise the siderail. If you test under Pearson Vue or Credentia, you are required to raise the siderail.
Hi, Touseef! Prometric does not emphasize the use of side rails. Therefore, it is not required to raise them before turning the resident onto his or her side during Prometric testing. You just need to ensure that the person is not dangerously close to the edge of the bed after turning.
@ShantalHarris HI, Shanta! If you are testing under Prometric, the use of side rails is not emphasized. Therefore, during testing, raising of the side rail is not a required step. However, if you are testing under Pearson Vue or Credentia, raising the side rail is a required step.
you touched the call button with your dirty hands and gave it to the patient, then you wash your hands to do the procedure. so after you leave the room and the patient uses the call button they contract what ever disease you communicated to the through the call button. all these students are sucking up to you and fail to see the error in your procedure. PLEASE FIX THE ERRORS IN YOU PROCEDURE

Hi Julie, do we have to give the call light before washing our hands? Thank you 💓
Good question
It was hard to see as the sheet was in the way. Also do we need to put up the side rails. You are awesome, I take my exam on March 30th. I've watched your videos, very precise and organized
Hi, Joanna! If you are testing under Pearson Vue, yes, you will need to raise the side rail. For Prometric testing, you do not.
@@NURSEJAR any advice on not being nervous during the skills testing in front of someone
@@joannavelky3958 Yes! Verbalize everything you do. This will help you focus on your performance and keep your mind off the Evaluator.

Is the linen protector for the three pillows on the table mandatory?
Hi, Ashley! If you are testing under Prometric, yes.
Hello Nurse jar
we do not need gloves to perform this skill?
Hi, Lucy! No, gloves are not required for this skill.
Nurse jar, do i need the side rails up?
Hi this skills does need to put on gloves?
I was taught to fully uncover the patient when doing this, is that incorrect??
Hi ,yes I had a question, are you required to use gloves?
Hi, Cynthia! Gloves are not required for this skill.
How would you know when can you use gloves on skills?
Hi, I had a question, am doing hca. Am I supposed to watch the video ??. Plz advice
Will I fail if I forget two pillows in the positioning part of my clinical test
For this skill i was instructed to remove the sheet down to the leg and cover the patient after placing the pillows.
Same.
Need Privacy sheet right ?
Do we need to put the side rail is up for this skill ?
Hi, Musiclover!
If you are testing under Prometric, no, you do not need to raise the siderail. If you test under Pearson Vue or Credentia, you are required to raise the siderail.
Hi, could you please tell me that in Tesing center do I need to up the side roll when client turn to the right side? Just for knowing.
Hi, Touseef! Prometric does not emphasize the use of side rails. Therefore, it is not required to raise them before turning the resident onto his or her side during Prometric testing. You just need to ensure that the person is not dangerously close to the edge of the bed after turning.
@@NURSEJAR Thanks
You will fail if you didnt tell the patient in a count of 3 and then move patieny towards you?
Hi ms julie. Have a good day
Hi, Lionelle! You have an awesome day, as well 😀!
when you move the pt closer to you before you turn them I thought you place you hands under them instead of pushing on their shoulder and hip bone
You did not pull rail.
Yea cause I was wondering too
@ShantalHarris HI, Shanta! If you are testing under Prometric, the use of side rails is not emphasized. Therefore, during testing, raising of the side rail is not a required step.
However, if you are testing under Pearson Vue or Credentia, raising the side rail is a required step.
