Lived with a 6” lifted Duramax - never again. Leveling is more than enough. I’d add coil overs and eliminate the antiquated torsion bars. Straight axles are easier to deal with. Looks like a good kit. Love the Chevy
I have a new 2021 Silverado 3500 High Country . I was contemplating a level kit. After watching your video you sold me on the Cognito 4" lift kit! I ordered it today and will have it installed along with Fuel Blitz 20X9 Wheels -18 off set and Toyo 35's! Great video!!
Kryptonite is the best stuff on the market for a Duramax. I've got their stage 3 kit (upper control arms, ball joints, shocks, keys) and I would say the truck rides the same as stock if not smoother.
had a leveling kit, worst mistake ever, destroyed the ride feel, destroyed the steering comfort. also when i loaded my bed it sat squated in the back and destroyed the driveability. so if you are using your truck like a truck and hauling loads NEVER level kit it.
If you Level your Front end (usually 2 to 2.5 inches) most people forget to realign your Headlights. You risk Blinding oncoming vehicles. I found out this way by experience. Easy to reset your headlights, 2.5 inches lifted/leveled, 2.5 inches down on on the realignment. Turning the alignment screw is all it is.
35's generally don't with a modest offset but 37's do. Factory wheels are great for keeping clearance in your wheel wells. Great option if you're not lifting.
Silly question here. Can you tune down this 4 inch lift to say 3 inches? I ask because I want to do this on my 21 HD 2500 only one use 35s it seems everyone puts 37s on this set up.
so does cognito tell you to cut off upper control arm stop? usually people only do that when they have clearance issues after cranking the keys. but too pay a ton of money for their 4 inch kit that shouldnt need to be cut off.
Well you made my mind up this 4” Cognito for my 20 hd Denali. What do you find is the best riding shock 20% off 80% on road. Are the Deaver springs available?
Availability is real tough, but I'd be happy to check on that for ya. As for shocks, the cognito valved remote resi Fox shocks have the best reviews from our customers. Call up the shop and we'll get ya a quote put together if you're interested. 406-551-2777. Thanks! 🤙
I have 20x10 with -18 offset fuel rogue rims. Just bought 37x13.50r20 nitto ridge grapplers. I already trimmed and removed front valence and I'm rubbing at full lock with 325/60r20s on a 3" readylift kit. Wonder if the 37s will fit with the cognito kit.. I dont really mind minor rubbing at full lock
@@basedcanadian6869 gotcha! Yes they'll still rub, but you'll be further ahead. Spending some more time trimming is going to be necessary. You'll have to get into sheet metal unfortunately, but there is a clean way to do that!
Great explanation! Not half assing things is my style also lol What are your thoughts on the BDS coil over conversion for the 2020 and up trucks? I'm assuming it dramatically upgrades the ride quality which is what I'm mainly after with a 37/12.50r20.
I thank you for your explanation. I’d love king shocks to fit either 35 or 37 Toyo M/T but then again I know nothing about Suspesion. Although I was told king shocks would level front end. I am concerned and don’t know what route too take. Would you suggest me on my 2021 GMC 2500 set up please. Thanks best regards!
I'd recommend a 4" lift if 37's are in your future. A 6" would be better suited to the 37" tire size but we've done 37's on the 4" for the 20-21 pickups. Takes a lot more trimming. Like I said in the video, the most durable way to do it is with a 'lift kit' in my opinion. Give our sales team a call and they'll help you through the decision making process sir. 406-551-2777
Also Jose, Shocks alone will not lift your vehicle in any regard considering you have a 2500HD. They use torsion bars to set ride height, and shocks only control the movement. Hope that helps out some! Gary
Depends on what characteristics of the current ride you're wanting to improve. Just a bilstein 4600/5100 will typically yield more enjoyable dampening characteristics over a variety of terrains. dieselpros.com/i-30619073-1-5-bilstein-5100-front-shock-absorber-11-20-chevy-gmc-2500-3500.html?ref=category:1459503
I think with the right wheels we can do that. Typically some considerable trimming for anything other than mall-duty but it's a step in the right direction for GM! Always had to run a 6" lift for 35's in years past.
@@DieselPros what offset would be needed to keep the truck stock height with 35x12.5r20’s I don’t like flat face wheels. Reminds me of the stock wheels
One small detail you left out, a lift kit is permanent as you have to cut into the frame. It’s irreversible. No more auto car washes, parking garages, maybe even your home garage. A lot of disadvantages to a lift vs a level. Cognito UCAs greatly diminish the CV angle issue and allow for 37s with just a 3 inch level on the 2024s. And cost, levels are a lot cheaper.
Yeah man very nice......go on the forums and try to tell people to spend money to get angles right and all they care about is wheels and tires.....spend 3k on wheels and have heart attack spending anything on suspension geometry....... go for $100 puck system, lol Or torsion keys on 2500...... Do it right and do it once
I put the readylift 3"/2" kit on my 2021 2500 high country and the cv angles aren't great. This kit didn't come with UCAs tho.. I ended up buying the cognito 4" premium kit and also added HD tie rods and supersteer. Been waiting 2.5 months due to backorder on fox shocks cuz of covid.. still not here
@@brendanpeterson3 just got the lift finally and ots in the shop for install. It was supposed to be like 4-6 weeks but ended up taking 10-12 weeks. Then again it was shipping from the US up here to Toronto area so it may be faster for you. Plus I'm guessing they just got a massive shipment from Fox
@@basedcanadian6869 nice man well lucky you, I’m still waiting. it seems like I must have been too late on that shipment. Because I ordered in mid February. LOVE those wheels! Can you provide specs on those and the tires?
I've had 35X12.5R18 on factory wheels for 15,000 miles now stock height and have never rubbed once why would a 35" tire rub on a truck with a 4"lift?
35's generally don't with a modest offset but 37's do. Factory wheels are great for keeping clearance in your wheel wells. Great option if you're not lifting.
Talk to me about Cognito versus BDS. BDS kit looks much beefier than Cognito. And I hear warranty is better with BDS
How much ground clearance do you gain with this 4" lift, if any, considering that you drop the diff?
What about a full airbag rear end, like Kelderman, is that worthwhile as far and cost and ride go.
What if you just want the front leveled 2”? With new keys and diff drop and shock extenders? Will this give any issues or hurt ride?
Thanks
What can I expect to pay for this kit on my 19 3500 HD dually? How does a lift affect 5th wheel towing?
Will those reservoir shocks have issues operating properly during really cold weather?
What’s that type of lift usually run for?

With the arms parallel with the ground there is no negative change in down travel. No need to cut those upper stops off if I remember correctly.
