Aim can take you pretty far, probably ascendant, but understanding all of the agents and the utility usage and counter-utility, stalling pushes, countering ults, overall game sense and map awareness etc. etc. is the knowledge that's needed to become a great player, not just a good player.

E.g if you're a good player and your playing sage , it's definitely harder to make plays than it is with jett/reyna to really try solo carry a team, nonetheless, if you can't click a head, it doesn't matter anyways. Also it's still important to maintain a team comp so if your entire team locks in and you don't have a smoker, you should be able to fill that role otherwise your chances of victory are far less assured without a smoker/duelist in a team.
