A walking tour of an East Austin neighborhood

I came into the East Cesar Chavez Neighborhood of Austin on my way to a gig at Industry East Side. This East Austin neighborhood sits on top of Ladybird Lake and is just east of Highway 35 above the river. There are some interesting places along this street, with a mix of shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, bungalo homes, fancy homes and falling apart homes. Some notable places include Eastside Tavern, Juan in a Million and Ceynote. I found some amazing BBQ at La Barbecue, and you can find some music at Long Play Lounge. One omission from the video is the bar and music venue called High Noon. I hope to check it out one day. Good times.

Next time around try out Sam's BBQ on 12th Street... Awesome BBQ and if you're looking to have a drink there is a Daiquiri spot now built in to it . 😊
