Handy to know that this tool is available for a wide range of Land Rovers so doesn't limit your choice when buying. For the price of a cheap Halfrauds toolbox this tool is worth ten times its weight.
thank you for the fast reply . did read the code. this is what came up , rough road sense malfunction. all the fuses are good. where I live in America a code in the computer means you're vehicle is off the road
Foxwell tech now has the NT630 Plus SRS Automotive OBD2 Scan OBD II ABS Bleeding Diagnostic Scanner tool that will cycle the abs on most models of Land Rovers that I bought for US$149.99 + tax from amazon. It's simple, but all I wanted was the ability to power bleed and this tool does it. Amazing how far prices can drop over a few years..
Hi There great video, I had 3 amigos after changing all my steering joints. I bought a code reader and it came up with both front sensors out put too low. changed sensor cables, 3 amigos came back. Then I cut out the joining plugs and soldered direct links in case dodgy joining plugs was an issue. Still the same. So even though the code reader doesn't mention shuttle valve do you think I should change it anyway ?
I think its a fantastic price... The diagnostic software at professional level to cover all those vehicles is considerably more expensive from anyone else that I'm aware of... I do like that you can have a cheaper version locked to your own motor... However it begs the question as regards what happens if you swap from a disco to a defender ... will they change it FOC or are you buying a new unit to suit?
Thanks - I'll check the connector, but this car has had almost all its km's as an on-road car, and being Australia, also the car has no visible corrosion except the exhaust pipes :-) I will try extending the ABS plug wires into the cabin and go for a small drive to test - hopefully this is not dangerous as far as the ABS ability is concerned.
My defender 90 TD5 has a visit from the 3 amigos. The only fault code my lynx gives me are "4020 Valve relay failure 2 (can not switch on)" as a current fault. If I manually chose to activate "valve relay" it clicks from the ABS ecu. If I choose to test "supplies and ground" it fails. "Shuttle valve SW" comes up as passed. Could it be so simple as a power supply or ground fault?
I finally decided to get rid of the 3 amigos issue on my disco so i got it plugged and there was one error" rear left wheel sensor electric failure "so i changed the sensor started the car but the lights are still there , got it plugged again and found a new error but this time for the front left wheel sensor so i changed the other sensor 😤 turned ignition on and the lights are still there , plugged it and the front left wheel sensor electric failure is still there with the rear left wheel sensor intermittent error also , any ideas 😔 , could it be the shuttle valves or slabs ???
Is the home version (£250 version) linked to one MODEL or is it only use able with one specific car? Can I use it on mutiple Td5 Discovery 2's or can I only use it on one? Thanks for your videos!
My LHR sensor gave a "LHR rear abs speed sensor fault-signal output intermittent " I did an ohm test on the old sensor and it was close to 1100 ohms. The new sensor I was going to install tested same. Could there be a problem in the wire between the sensor and computer? And how can I test this theory?
you should test the flylead between modulator and sensor. In the video here it's the same type of lead but different application... ruclips.net/video/jPggSHIN8Rk/видео.html
@@trailerfitter2 Just finished watching, THANKS! I'll be doing this first thing Tuesday. Just curious, what is that vehicle you're working on in that vid??
Thanks, is there a guide to what is the best way to test this ABS Sensor? I have a digital multimeter, but nothing more fancy than that. When I replaced the brakes a few months ago, I pulled the ABS sensor and checked for obvious issues, but everything was clean and tight at the sensor end on the hub.
That's all I needed to know... It's not going to be as expensive as buying another one I'm assuming ... and even if it was its a great selling point on flogging your old motor...
I have a 2004 disco. the three lit up as well as the d rack light at the same time.help can I just replace all 4 sensors. they are only 16 bucks on amazon land rover wants 150 bucks to read the codes please respond asap. need a sticker in three weeks
Bite the bullet and get someone to read the codes. You needn't pay $150 . Anyone with a decent scanner / reader ie: Snap On - will be able to read the ABS ECU and tell you exactly what is wrong. No point in random parts swapping. Just thought i'd say $16 for a ABS wheel sensor may not be a good sensor. Good luck. I am under the impression a Sticker is the same as the UK's annual MOT test? Not sure if this is relevant to the USA but the UK testers now read the ECUs for permenent codes so just wiping the codes before a test doesn't work.
My ODBII diag says front left wheel sensor rough road fault detected (or words to that effect) - does this mean an ABS sensor fault, or likely to be a worn hub? I don't want to throw parts at it in the hope it turns off the lights - Also there is a slight clicking/creaking noise from under the dash and can be felt through the brake pedal when braking normally - something really subtle - a symptom of the three amigos, or a secondary fault? Seriously considering this tool nonetheless... :-)
porque mi land rover discoviry? huele a gasolina ? inyecctores ni bujian son ,xq ya lo revise , gracias por su información ya q los anteriores son de mucha utilidad felicidades
Not for me mate... I'm early 300tdi material .. although we are considering an upgrade sometime next year engine wise ... just got to see how the misses gets on with her changing work needs...
buy an Autel Diagnostic Scanner from Amazon for around $20. Clear the codes. You shouldn't see the 3 amigos again for ages. I get it once or twice a year in my Disco II, ever since I've had it.
I saw your post from a year ago, and i was wondering if you were talking about a scanner that works with the disco II and what model autel scanner it is, thanks in advance.
ah no problem, sorry it was short, i'd just woken up and was typing with on screen keyboard lol. i got rid of the 3 amigos thing a couple times and it took ages to come back after i cleared it, but after that i had it pop up like twice in a fortnight. then i had a power steering hose wear through, then a diesel line. i had two new sets of brakes in and still couldn't stop the squeaking, the injector rail seal went, and leaked oil into the ecu, then i had to replace the indicator stalk, and all this after the guy i bought it off had just put a new turbo and transmission + a few other things for around $12,000 it was a beautiful car on the road, but i figured i'd cut my losses. i won't buy another one that's for sure
I ended up replacing it with an 80 series landcruiser, the thing is a total beast. i put a 4" suspension lift in and 33" bfg muds, and i've not touched it since aside from oil and filters

Rude height sensor failure perhaps?
great video . lots of good clear information.

Why would one of my rear wheels be stuck up with the air ride and cant reset it?

glad you found it helpful.

It should tell you if the connections are faulty there is a code and description for that. Are you activating the shuttle valves individually?

Wouter Tom Mulder I do not know this. Perhaps if you ask Lynx Britpart team I am sure they will be able to answer your question.
the three amigos on my tdci puma turned out to be a blown 30A ABS fuse.
