I personally love the kyosho bottom loader shocks. With a shock that you fill from the top air gets trapped under the piston and you have to wait for the air to leave the oil. With a bottom loader you don't need to wait because you push the air out when you insert the piston into the oil which makes changing the oil a 5 minute job. Also the cartridge is a better design than the mini b/t which traps air into the shock. The kyosho has a cup with an easy path for the air to follow/escape when you bleed the shock
The RB7 is really old at its bones. It shares a lot of parts with the RB6 which came out in *double takes* 2012. Also, once you get used to it, those shocks are one of the easiest to build consistently because of the fluting on the cartridge threads. Its very consistent in how much oil it bleeds each time. Maybe I'm bad at it, but I find a lot more variability with the bleed screws on most other shock designs.
Kyosho has always used non conventional names for things. The shock stay name has been used for years. If you are in and around their products for a while, you start getting familiar with their naming convention. I think they refer to bodies as "Body set". Its a Kyosho quirk. Geat video.
Nice video, it's a shame they don't seem to be supporting 10th scale racing very much at the moment. I'm hoping to get into racing this year and gradually turn my RB6.6 readyset into an RB7 but I wonder how long I'll really be able to run it without proper parts support, especially here in the UK. Anyway, its all I have for the time being.
Great video. I’m a Kyosho die hard. I agree with everything you said about the Rb, although I don’t have the SS, I have the regular 7 kit, the same is true for it. I run a Lazer 7 5.5 mod, i have broken parts. You said you friend is a factory driver, is there a RB8 coming out? Thanks for sharing.
I thought Kyosho dropped all the sponsored drivers a long while back. They haven't even hinted at releasing any new 4wd or 2wd competition buggies either.... Sad.... I think Kyosho quality is the best, but I don't think they are in the game anymore.
I made a Patreon so if you wanna support me that way and get up to date updates on my videos feel free to subscribe to it.

Rb7 is awesome

Thanks for the review. What are your thoughts on the xray XB2 21?
Dunno yet. Haven't driven one. Though I know they are VERY high quality.

If there is a new buggy coming out it'll be a revision of the rb7 like the rb7.7

Kyosho racing with sponsored drivers has focused on 1/8 scale.
No removable diffs is a big No buy! It's just so much easier working on the car it's hard to go back to not having it!
RB8 in late 2024
Will we still be seeing a new kyosho Rb8 anytime soon?
Basically bashing this car for the whole video
