- Even my eyes got a good workout from watching these notes roll back and forth - so I can't imagine how it feels to actually play this.

Etudes are pieces of music created as exercise for practise and learning.
Chopin wanted to teach us how much we suck
Chopin wanted to teach us how to move our hands really fast to help in other songs
Deadlyninjadeath Roblox r/woooosh
That's why I like to view a=etudes more as a piece based on a concept, rather than a study.

@@karebu3924 Omg i feel so dumb i thought you meant at 2:03 i know that other note was a G 🤦
From 0:31-0:41, there’s a really beautiful melody hidden within the rapid arpeggios

"Well done bro Chopin": said Mozart clapping hands.
Notes wise, piece is very easy to learn (assuming you are an average reader) since it’s pretty much just an octave with a note in between them, then using a technique called “leaping”
Technique wise, both of your hands must be flexible and loose. Start by practicing the leaps slowly then eventually muscle memory will take over (make sure you are precisely playing the correct notes)
Overall, it is one of chopin’s easier etudes (comparing it to Winter wind, and Torrent)
Thank you, might actually attempt it because of your comment
The challenge in this piece is voicing the middle voice. It's basically an easter egg in the piece, but that's not the only challenge. Chopin Études have a very impressionist feeling to them, and so you'd have to develop a certain type of texture in your playing to make the notes sound "watery."
Amazing, I always love these videos, they're a great way to truly understand the piece
Even though it's part of a whole different set, I always felt like this must have been written as a counterpart to Op. 10 No. 1, bringing the cycle of the Etudes back to where they began.
Loving the mellow and expressive sound
This Is one of the most genius peices of music I've heard
Welcome to Chopin’s oeuvre
it's just arpeggios dude
@@valtrberg901 More so the chord progressions, but the arpeggio technique is ingenious
I always get goose bumps after listening to this
Probably one of the greatest pieces i've ever heard.
I can't believe the beauty of this piece. It's amazing, brilliant, beautiful. It has all the good adjectives.
That's why they nicknamed ocean
AMAZING!!! Thanks for uploading!
God bless you Chopin
I'm awestruck. This is gorgeous.
I guess this is how a virtuoso warms up :)
+SpaceLion87 I play this piece and I don't consider myself a virtuoso
@@PiscesSenpai you play it as a warm up?
@@manuelbes lmao
@@PiscesSenpai lang lang once played winter wind as a warm up, with some mistakes, but it was pretty clean. I guess we can call it a virtuoso warm up if it's the first thing you play when you touch the piano, and it being clean
@@manuelbes I guess it is a warm up because I always play this Etude first thing, it's such a favourite of mine
I love this piece... It somehow depicts my emotions.
Fantastic ...

One of those pieces you wish you could play, but you just can't.
+Ted Mosby I can play this..
Are you together with Robin yet
***** At what tempo? I don't believe in saying someone can play it if they can't play it at at least 120bpm and hardly any pianists can play it at the inscribed 160bpm. I can manage about 140
***** I'll believe that only when I see it, hardly any pianists can play the piece at 160bpm
What? I can play this piece. You might as well have just said this piece is easy if you are a very advanced player who has been playing for 10 years... Obviously it will be easier. I'm talking about in general, unless you are very advanced, this etude is extremely difficult.
Great Job!
Love it! I'm starting to learn this piece, though have always really liked it. Feeling pretty ambitious, so, who knows? It may take a year, so be it. :)
So talented
Please please do Chopin's Waltz op.34 no.2
this etude actually tires my wrist out. i think its mainly because my wrists aren't used to this motion yet since this is one of the first pieces that ive learned that uses my wrists like that alot
i like the new look
has nobody noticed that the left hand melody is different from normal at 1:53? it sounds amazing also and brings some added sophistication to the melody, though i could see argument both for and against this departure from the canon. mostly surprised nobody has noticed.
Lol wow, this visual format of the song is great at showing Chopins intent in composing the song
I think This is the best etude.
Blind man: can you show me what an ocean looks like

I remember when this came out
Bruh 😂 It took me a couple secs not gonna lie
Fun fact: this etude was dedicated to Franz Liszt's wife at the time, Marie Catherine Sophie de Flavigny,(a.k.a. Daniel Stern, her pen name).
This piece looks so easy but I just can’t get the positioning right. Since 2 years I’ve tried every technique I’ve come across but this etude stays one of the hardest for me by far
Scherzo Op. 31 No. 2 by Chopin. Thanks!
Scherzo No. 3!!
Don't worry! Ocean Etude is one of Chopin most easiest Etudes technically! I'm learning now Op. 10 No. 1 and my hand expanded 2x like before :D
Ocean etude is more difficult than this. It's basically the op10 no 1 but with two hands. If you're right handed, the op10 no1 would be cake walk as only one hand will work. Op10 no1 requires the same technique as op25 op 12 but it's less work as only one hand is doing the arpeggios.
@@Hk-uw8my “basically op.10 no.1 with two hands”🫠
I only have 2 hands thank you very much.
Anyone know where I can get sheet music for this one?
this etude would be amazing in major
Ummm it modulate to c major...
I took 1 month, but I managed to play it

What is the best Chopin Étude that I should begin with?
Op 10 no 12
This is way easier than revolutionary etude :P
+Alexandre de Angelis Everything can be played with practise, but revolutionary etude take more time than ocean etude.
+Alexandre de Angelis In Revolutionary etude you have to change thecnique some times, in this etude you only have to repeat one technique for the whole piece, so for me this is much easier than Revolutionary.
Also my left hand sucks :(
Op 10 no 6?
20 times faster
Ludwig Van Beethoven lol
Without hands
Ling ling
2 times slower
Now I know where etude for a ghost was inspired from

When I play my piano it feels weird help me
What do you mean by weird?
hey everyone! For all of those who can play this piece. How hard is it, meaning is it very technical or does it simply just take a lot of practice? Is it just difficult because of the pace or because of the technic? Have a great day!
It's one of the hardest etudes. Not only because you need a very good technique and dexterity on arpeggios, but accents and dynamics should be on point.
tbh not hard, you only need to learn the first three notes in each bar for the most part. I just started learning piano for 3 months and I can hit all the notes at the tempo in this video with some errors and slowdowns but it's not as hard as it looks at all
In my opinion, it's a pretty hard piece to learn. It requires lot of practice to hit the right keys and at the right speed (with emotions), but the reading is pretty simple. You should give it a try as there are lots of guides on how to approach it on RUclips and start slowly and build up your speed once you master the slower speed.
As for that kid who says he learned it after playing piano for 3 months, it's simply impossible (or he's the most talented prodigy of the 21st century... definately not). I've been learning piano for 14 years and it took me quite a while to learn it at the right pace, but give it a try, it's a very fun piece to play!
Chee Kit Chong Bs. This piece requires a lot of technicality and is hard to learn.
Sam Essebag Yes it is pretty difficult ( well, when you start speeding it up ). But what I did to make it easier is I played each one of the chords, and when I already knew the chords i broke it down to arpeggios and start playing at a very slow speed (20%) And gradually sped it up. It took me 4 1/2 months to learn this ( 30 min practice each day ). But practice is always key :)
Matt Bellamy you fcking Genius
Who is the musician?? It is a really good rendition. I loved it..
I want to play one of the etudes of Chopin but can't decide, which one is easier, ''ocean'' or ''revolutionary'' can you give me some advice?
I would say revolutionary is the better option if your looking for the less difficult one
On a notes/sight reading standpoint, I'd say Ocean is easier. But Revolutionary seems to have more busy work in the left hand, so it probably depends on what skill is easier for you. I learn by ear, so the process of learning Ocean is easier. Playing it, though, is another story.
ocean is easier
In Revolutionary, the left hand does do quite a lot more work, but the right hand just plays chords. I at least find it a bit easier, as you are mostly just moving down on the keyboard, whereas in ocean the direction changes quite a bit - up down, up down, and it might be a bit hard to keep track of what each hand is doing.
I play both, and I say Ocean is easier.
0:50 See the Fatal Error
Oh dude...😂
2:26 I only have 2 hands and my fingers aren't that long. How?
Pedal.
You could use the pedal "Una Corda"
Sostenuto Pedal. The middle one.
The "una corda" pedal's the left one.
There is no heart in this performance
This makes Chopin's Waterfall Etude look easier.
Average Internet Surfer no this one is easier then the waterfall. Howerver playing this at the require speed in a concert is risquy because its easy to miss notes.
I love my hands. So I'm going to spare myself the pain of learning this piece.
How do you practice this?😅
Did gta 4 use the same chord progression as the intro to this piece ?
is there any midi file to this please?
Unfortunately, OP doesn't link midi files :/

Is this hardest than revolutionary etude?
I would say both are at the same difficulty. I haven't played this one but I have the revolutionary etude. I do not think this one is very difficult at all. They are just octaves

I now understand why the name "Ocean"
Also because the notes on the sheet music and in the tutorial look like waves.
Why does this sound like Etude Op.10 No.1 ?
This is so easy
True, the only things hard about this piece are connecting the hands and the speed of this wonderful piece

So Chopin is god? :3
Alex Morrison yesh :3
this is one of easiest chopin etude imo.

Of course its Chopin.

Yes he uses a midi recording of a performance not a robot. there will be all the mistakes that the pianist will do and sometimes these mistakes are not audible.
@@sajedahmed9955 just like lang lang. Watching him play he hits so many wrong notes but somehow they just dont make any sound. Honestly kinda impressive

Chopin most really likes black keys, unlike me
This is so fast.

That's the resonance of the other strings. I'm assuming this whole thing is played with the sustain pedal pressed.
