    They were a good noisy machine when they had their recips. I flew Hueys in Vietnam and was glad we were not as tall as the Marine's 34's as the pilots are on the very top. In full metal jacket the 34's had turbines and a sound track was required. Also, not a one of the shown helicopters had any bullet hole patches and I got a kick out of that as we had LOTS of bullet hole patches. Thanks for sharing the video and best of luck! Also, you could stand up in a 34, but not in one of our Hueys.

      Well at least the 34 can pop up the hood to check on the engines while engine running.. You cant fo that on the huey.

    I owe my life to a brave pilot and crew who came for me in May 1967 in a UH-34D. It was a hot zone, with the enemy firing from both sides of our dried rice paddy LZ and both gunners were firing back. I had only a little time left before I bled out, but they waited for me and took me and two others to Charlie Med and I'm still here, thanks to that crew and that gorgeous bird. God bless all medevac pilots - they never failed us.
