Here’s the other thing about Soldier Field that is getting looked over. Chicago’s MLS Team moved back into Soldier Field a couple of years ago. What would a Bears move and the removal of Soldier Field do for them?
I heard that if the White Sox leave US Cellular Field for the property in the South Loop, the city would renovate US Cellular and make it a soccer specific stadium for the Chicago Fire.
@@geddyleesmullet84 I heard that too but I will keep the upper deck because soccer is going to be big in this country and the United States in my opinion keep it is they didn't play a football game at US Cellular Field at 2012 college football show playing soccer there would be awesome 💯 in my opinion
I think the city and the Bears should keep Soldier field and renovate it back into its original look why? I think by doing that you could use it for the Olympics rather than building multiple new structures stadiums. The Bears could also open a museum with the old solder field since its in a literal museum campus area but i can understand why they wouldn’t be able to do that because of space you’ll certainly need some parking for the new stadium.
The worry I have is that the Chicago Park District will figure out a way to get the Sox in there as well. I hope it stays strictly football and doesn't go the way of Multi Purpose.

no it’s not, it was delisted with the last trash remodel in the early 2000’s. the only thing at solder field thats a landmark is the columns and the old exterior walls.
Just a negotiating tactic imo to persuade Cook County and suburban school districts to be less greedy and offer a more favorable property tax deal. The Bears don’t want another “public”stadium as they are now renting from the Chicago Park District and that has not been great for them. Not saying the Bears don’t want public tax dollars to help pay for a new stadium, it’s just a question of ownership and any stadium in the City would probably mean shared ownership. Just my opinion, but based on some inside knowledge.
It ain't my money so it's just an opinion but I think owners who fund their own stadium has an advantage. They can build an entertainment district around the stadium, and they can host other events in that stadium that will bring them a bigger revenue boost. I always use the cardinals as the example because it's so much to do in West gate when the football team ain't playing.
Transit-oriented development is the future and Chicago is a dense, walkable city, so the parking lot won't be nearly as big anymore. I think they will likely extend the L to it.
White Sox should leave. Especially with Illinois current population loss. Chicago doesn't need 2 baseball teams. Philadelphia Boston St Louis and now the Bay area all had 2 baseball teams at one point too. Demographics change
By what right can Bears announce that they will use public land for private purposes, that’s the free land I wanted to use for my mansion. Bears can leave if they want any taxpayer subsidies. I don’t believe for one second this isn’t a way to scam money out of Chicago or Arlington Heights taxpayers.
Ginger doesnt understand what is he talking about. Bears will invest 2 bilion of private money for public stadium, meaning there will be public money as well. This will cost 5 bilion. And it will be north of big parking you showed us.
Tax dollars to wealthy owner These deals need to be done a different way, the city can issue bonds to pay for the stadium but the bonds should be paid back by the team as the teams value increases and there is more revenue. Vikings did something along those lines, and the bonds have now been paid back early and now the owners own the building outright and the city has no more obligations. Look at Las Vegas and they are already having shortfalls. Clark county has to dip into the general fund to pay for the bonds because the tax revenue was not enough to cover. Meanwhile the Raiders value has more then doubled since moving to Las Vegas and Davis does not have to pay back one cent. He might not own the building but he is getting most of the revenue from it.
They should have left soldier field as it was originally. It looks terrible in it's current condition. They may as well have built a new stadium in the first place. UGH

Either build the stadium on the property you own in Arlington Heights or stay in Soldier Field. I'm not sure why they feel entitled to taxpayer money here when the Soldier Field renovations aren't even paid off as of yet. Making a huge mistake Bears. Ginger doesn't understand what he is talking about. Bears will invest 2 billion of private money for public stadiums, meaning there will be public money as well. This will cost 5 billion. And it will be north of the big parking you showed us. Yeah, this isn't happening. Chicago has too diverse of a community and has too many issues. You won't get the community behind spending $1 to $3 B on a stadium with only 10 guaranteed events a year. Too many groups will have their hands out for their cause. The other hard sell is taxpayers building a stadium that benefits people who live in the suburbs. People always say stadiums bring in jobs and help small businesses. Football fans tailgate. Bears fans went to the supermarket in their town, bought gas in their town, and ate in the parking lot. They tailgate after the game and then leave. No restaurants or bars benefit. The only money the City gets are the taxes from tickets, parking, and food and beverage sold inside 10 times a year. The jobs created are security, usher, and food and merchandise sales jobs 10 times a year. Ginger don't believe anything you read or hear. The best thing for the Bears is to build a stadium they own and operate themselves. Arlington site is right next to a major train route and closer to where fans who can afford NFL tickets live. Move. Great. More pandering with the friends of the park lunatics. Watch the Bears totally fumble this. Again. fans will be getting carjacked while going to the game, good job. No matter where the Bears play, they will suck. When was the last time a Bears had a franchise QB? McMahon? Yeah, and how much is THIS gonna cost me? Are the McCaskeys gonna pay for it or am I? I call myself fortunate to live in Lake Cty and not Cook, as those residents tend to pick up the tab for large chunks of anything Chicago. And what of Soldier Field? The rebuild caused it to be de-listed as a national heritage landmark, so tear it down? And let us not forget Reinsdorf wants a new stadium for the Sox, too! Jesus. Welcome to Chicago! Cheers... Rly they need to make, a train station and public transport system there Kinda rate the bills going no dome. Or stadiums that are using retractable domes. The Bears really don't need a new stadium. Chicago is known for its architecture, I think they do something to pay homage to that. My only question is do they try to save the outer bowl and pillars of the current soldier field?
As a Bears fan, I really hope this goes through. If this turns into a hectic situation like what is happening with the A's, :(
Sad they tore down Arlington Racetrack for nothing.
That is all the Bears do at this point. Tear down stadiums or damage historic ones.
The racetrack was already permanently closed down, so it's still better off getting torn down to build a new neighborhood of missing middle housing.
@@gabetalks9275 Bears own the property. They will sell it for top dollar. Only housing going there will be luxury ones.
@@gabetalks9275 Only housing will be premium housing. Remember Bears own the land and paid large amount for racetrack.
You people don't realize how business works. This is posturing so Arlington Heights budges
Should be a retractable roof fr
Why? So they can open it up only once or twice each year.
The retractable roofs never get used. Especially if it’s in Chicago.
@@lmq9516 Exactly. Look how seldom the Houston Astros open their roof for games, including postseason when weather is 70 degrees outside.
They definitely would get used in the fall when the weather is nice

Solider Field can’t be demolished. It’s protected by landmark status.
With nearest parking 1.5 miles away
I have been a Chicago Bears fan all of my life and I have lived in Chicago all of my life. Chicago is a world-class city and, as such, deserves a world-class domed facility. This is the best possible news! When the Bears build it just make sure it completely trumps anything Green Bay could ever build! HASH TAG - Hate the Packers
2 billion is what the Bears are putting up.
This will go to court as the park people will fight any private buildings on public land, and if the city funds will be push back.. The park peeps are suggesting old Michael Reese site just south of McCormick now. Always some back room deals and interesting on White Sox and Bears both looking for new stadiums and joint approach.
Here’s the other thing about Soldier Field that is getting looked over. Chicago’s MLS Team moved back into Soldier Field a couple of years ago. What would a Bears move and the removal of Soldier Field do for them?
The MLS Chicago fire open the new solar field is a soccer stadium it will be spectacular for the fire in my opinion
They should stay the course with Arlington
I think the city and the Bears should keep Soldier field and renovate it back into its original look why? I think by doing that you could use it for the Olympics rather than building multiple new structures stadiums. The Bears could also open a museum with the old solder field since its in a literal museum campus area but i can understand why they wouldn’t be able to do that because of space you’ll certainly need some parking for the new stadium.
My Jets Need A New

I totally agree! I was at the last Jets game at Shea
If they go on a run with Rodgers, I think it’ll happen. Up near Citi Field in Queens.
@@91_C4_FLI agree
The worry I have is that the Chicago Park District will figure out a way to get the Sox in there as well. I hope it stays strictly football and doesn't go the way of Multi Purpose.
It’s a good move to stay in the city
It’s about time. They started yesterday tearing up the parking lot where the new stadium is going. Last night there were huge trucks delivering steel too. Huge traffic jam is coming and will last forever. I didn’t realize they would start so fast but the bulldozers were running all night
The Bears really don't need a new stadium. They've played at Lambeau Field for years and it's just fine.
The bears don't play at Lambeau
@@Wazmu_ Yes they do. You clearly don't follow football.

They cant demolish soldier field it’s considered a landmark I don’t believe u can’t knock those down
no it’s not, it was delisted with the last trash remodel in the early 2000’s. the only thing at solder field thats a landmark is the columns and the old exterior walls.
Rly they need to make, a train station and public transport system there
It ain't my money so it's just an opinion but I think owners who fund their own stadium has an advantage. They can build an entertainment district around the stadium, and they can host other events in that stadium that will bring them a bigger revenue boost. I always use the cardinals as the example because it's so much to do in West gate when the football team ain't playing.
So where is the parking for this stadium
It’s Chicago public transportation is more popular in the city
Yes, considering most fans will being coming in from the suburbs.
Transit-oriented development is the future and Chicago is a dense, walkable city, so the parking lot won't be nearly as big anymore. I think they will likely extend the L to it.
There’s plenty of parking plus many people will use public transit.
Don't like dome stadiums! Good luck with the new site I like the park idea. Hope they keep the water front open to public space.
I think the White Sox should try and get the Solider Field site as the new stadium site.
White Sox should leave. Especially with Illinois current population loss. Chicago doesn't need 2 baseball teams. Philadelphia Boston St Louis and now the Bay area all had 2 baseball teams at one point too. Demographics change
@@HoshizakiYoshimasa Where do you think a new team or even the White Sox should go next?
maybe they should've spent that money on an offensive line
You actually have to be joking
By what right can Bears announce that they will use public land for private purposes, that’s the free land I wanted to use for my mansion. Bears can leave if they want any taxpayer subsidies. I don’t believe for one second this isn’t a way to scam money out of Chicago or Arlington Heights taxpayers.
Soldier field is a public property?
Bears are not leaving and it's still gonna cost tax payers for a new stadium
Hopefully that translucent roof has the ability to hold the weight of a heavy snowfall.
it doesn’t snow that much anymore 🤡
What snow
Not a problem for Minnesota, so it will not be a problem for Chicago.

Arlington race park site is in the middle of a neighborhood, no big buildings, no skyline.
Have the even NEW Soldier Field design but renovated the old Soldier Field design AFTER the entire domed stadium is built
Taxpayers in Chicagoland can spend their money for better things than a toy for some billionaires.
😂😂😂 u mad
This is posturing so Arlington Heights budges. People don't realize bears have nowhere to play for 3 years if they built a new stadium on the lake
fans will be getting carjacked while going to the game, good job.
They will end up in Arlington Heights - this is all part of the negotiation process to get leverage. (They have no leverage now.)
Great news. I live down there.
No matter where the Bears play, they will suck. When was the last time a Bears had a franchise QB? McMahon?

No roof, and get rid of the soldier field renovations so the fire can move back in
Bears should of talked with Nascar to build the dome stadium in the infield of Chicagoland. would of been safer for fans.
Man made island stadium would have been my choice 😎
I'm just wondering where the parking will be
Tax dollars to wealthy owner These deals need to be done a different way, the city can issue bonds to pay for the stadium but the bonds should be paid back by the team as the teams value increases and there is more revenue.
UGH
Time to talk about the KC Current Stadium that is opening this week!
You do know that Citi Field is part of a larger park? Might not be as knowledgeable as I originally thought
Not everybody keeps track of every small detail that happens within the big rotten apple. Contrary to New Yorks thoughts, the World DOESN'T revolve around NYC

Guys whats so odd about selling something they recently acquired? Like it’s only ever been just an asset to the Bears. Assets are bigger when you have a higher income. Except this is actually profitable unlike most loans people have. It not like Bears bought a brand new car and tried to sell it after one year💀😂 this property has increased value after the Bears cleared the old racetrack away so the property is now ready for commercial use Immediately upon sale. Im confident they will have sold the Arlington property in under 2 years. I bet a year🤷
Omg!! Im so tired of paying for all of the Chicago sports team stadiums!!!! All the owners of the sports teams in Chicago are billionaires why do us taxpayers have to fit the bill on any of it!!!! Im probably NEVER going to a Bears game any ways.We shouldn't have to chip in a single penny if they want a new stadium!!! In the billionaire's favorite send when the state of Illinois doesn't want to subsidize their stadiums is oh we'll just move to a different location.....MOVE ALREADY!!!!

How long before the Bulls want a new arena?
Once the bears move to the suburbs, they're no longer the Chicago Bears, they're the Illinois Bears.
This financially irresponsible project will never get the green light. Eventually, adults will enter the room and throw some shade on this fantasy. The city's commercial real estate market is getting ready to collapse, the city of Chicago is dead broke, those with means (residents & businesses) are fleeing, and the city police force is contracting en masse without replacement hires. But somehow the city can cough up 1.5B for a Bears stadium? It'll be Soldier Field for another 20 years or Arlington Heights. Bet on it.
Is it legal to demolish a building you haven’t fully paid for?
Do nfl want a mini village surrounding it like mlb stadium like rangers, braves, padres etc..?
I don't think soldier field can be demolished. It's landmarked
I think they soured on Arlington Heights about a month after they bought it
That was the preferred spot but Arlington Heights and Cook County got too stingy.
Bezos needs to purchase team, then do a Vegas sphere type of stadium
I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t see a problem with their current stadium . I get that it’s small , but that’s the way pro sports are shifting and they could’ve done a remodel. It’s gross how nobody can just appreciate their history and work to make their stadiums better .
