Naw, I wouldnt have him pass on the Mantle until He played Phantom in two sequels. The fourth film he passes it on, but during that film he is still Phantom, but I wouldnt have him die. Just retire. He'd deserve that.
"Watch him, Devil. If he moves, eat him." A cherished cinematic experience with my dad. I loved it then but dad still hates that he revealed his identity at the end of the film.
I miss my dog :(. I remember id watch the movie and the part the Phantom says " devil someone needs us" id say " riddles someone needs us" and she would start wagging her tail
Or better yet a phantom video game made like Arkham Night only set in the 30s with all the cool beat stuff they had, oh and Billy Zane as none other then the voice of the Phantom. :)
Phantom is such an underrated super hero more like dark Knight of the jungle. Phantom deserves a reboot in this current cinematic era( someone like Kevin feige could start the movie). I also feel that Tarzan and phantom are indirectly related in terms of ideas in regards to protecting the jungle.
I've written my own team up stories, as I'm a big pulp/old time comics fan. I've teamed the Phantom with several characters. can't recall them all without going into files etc. But Tarzan was definitely one as was Doc Savage, there was also one with Captain Nemo and I think I may have done one with the Shadow. he's quite an easy character to team up as his past and the fact he inherits the mantle of the phantom. I remember I was playing with the idea of a Zorro/Phantom team up but I didn't quite get around to it.
I actually remember running down the street with my father because we missed the first few minutes of the movie just to catch the phrase “for those who came late” scene played while we were looking for a seat. 😂
@@Rammstein0963 ...technically, Batman is based on several prior masked mystery men heroes (The Spider, The Shadow, the all-round-genius bit came from Doc Savage, etcetera), the idea of wearing spandex and an actual mask (as opposed to just a bandana and flowing coat/trenchcoat) came from The Phantom. Just like Superman, who borrowed just as much from Doc Savage (Fortress of Solitude!) as he did from Philip Wylie's "Gladiator".
+SwedishNortherner yes, maybe it wasnt the best movie, it was a movie about the best superhero. The producers and the director could do a much better work
"turkey someone needs us." turkey gobbles excitedly. wearing his turd brown suit; hops onto a miniature horse and rides off gallantly into the ocean. And never returning.
I wish they had made a 2nd part of this 1st part that premiered on July 7, 1996 since his beloved agreed to return to the island of Vengela for the Walking Ghost👻👻👻👻👣👣👣👣
I swear to devote my life to the destruction of piracy, greed, cruelty, and injustice, in all their forms, and my sons and their sons shall follow me.
Man this was, alongside Indiana Jones, one of my favorite swashbuckling movies when I was a little kid!
Dang. I grew up watching The Phantom and The Shadow back in the 90’s.
Still listening to this in 2021 and probably into 2022 as well
Long Live the Phantom!
Here because of :57 which was used in the mask of zorro trailer at the beginning of the men in black VHS from back in the day. God I love this track
Would love a direct sequel to this. With billy zane reprising role and passing off the phantom mantel to a new ghost who walks talk about easy reboots
Agreed!
Most Definitely! Need Another Phantom sequel with Billy Zane! The Ghost That Walks!
Naw, I wouldnt have him pass on the Mantle until He played Phantom in two sequels. The fourth film he passes it on, but during that film he is still Phantom, but I wouldnt have him die. Just retire. He'd deserve that.
It was intended to be a 3 film series bu the film did not profit enough for this to happen. Same with The Rocketeer
Music like this makes you miss the good old days. I miss the hell out of this movie.
What good old days?
One of the best movies of the 90s lot of action really good cast
get frustrated every time when i search for phantom and phantom of the opera comes up
That and Danny Phantom... ugh
A very underrated movie.
"Watch him, Devil. If he moves, eat him."
A cherished cinematic experience with my dad. I loved it then but dad still hates that he revealed his identity at the end of the film.
Josh Jacks no smoking in the skull cave.
Spoiler alert ha ive seen that movi a million times
"No one refuses The Phantom"
@@DanielCastro-fc7tp It isn't what you believe to be true that matters, it is what really is true that does.
I myself hate that fact haha! But it's Diana so it's alright.
Before Black Panther, JOJO, Assassin's Creed, Green Lantern, He-Man, Fist of the North Star it's Phantom.
my ultimate guilty pleasure movie
Don't feel guilty about liking The Phantom. It's a fun film.
Same tbh, I love the Phantom.
The Phantom is so awesome!
Childhood memories banging
Still, all these years later, cannot believe Billy Zane if all people played a hero for a change...
And he was good at it. impressive even especially when you think about his role in Titanic where he was a complete asshole.
He was, such an oddity to see him and Tim Curry leave their typical typecast roles as villains, but they both did well.
Has the word and feel of HERO all over this.
I miss my dog :(. I remember id watch the movie and the part the Phantom says " devil someone needs us" id say " riddles someone needs us" and she would start wagging her tail
0:22 "Devil, somebody needs us."
Dustin Martin lmao I said the same exact thing out loud.
It'd be so sick to see a remake of the Phantom movie. Like, the dude's nearly 90 and he only gets 1 movie? Come on!
Or better yet a phantom video game made like Arkham Night only set in the 30s with all the cool beat stuff they had, oh and Billy Zane as none other then the voice of the Phantom. :)
Who's nearly 90? Which dude are you talking about?
Joebro91 he is talking about how old the comic series is. The Phantom comic book series was created in the 1930s
Remakes are for dumbed down audiences.
Man, the opening 10 seconds, love it.
great movie. even better soundtrack. this beginning part they used in the starship troopers trailer. blows me away every time.
Whoever composed this deserves a cookie, favorited!
this song is on the trailer for the Mask on Zorro
You remember that, too?
Who cares its epic
Not to be played at my funeral. It is to be played as I'm being born into the astral world in the afterlife.
Always love billy Zane in this movie....teenage favorite ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 4 ever
the opening 10-15 seconds is from the starship troopers first trailer and further on its the mask of zorro teaser trailer

putting em together in a film definitely workable...

Awsome!!
David Newman Isolated Score The Phantom
If wasn't for the Ghost who Walks; than it wouldn't been the Caped Crusader...😉
Close but Batman is more heavily based on a 1940's hero called "The Shadow"
But the Phantom was first.
Granted.

the movie was not the best, but damn this soundtrack is epic *_*

Emily Batcat no smoking in the skull cave.
My favorite comics character outside of the Marvel CEU.
For those who don't know we have The Phantom to thanks for all those Superhero Spandex Costumes for it was The Ghost Who Walks that started it all!!
And Starship Troopers.
"turkey someone needs us." turkey gobbles excitedly. wearing his turd brown suit; hops onto a miniature horse and rides off gallantly into the ocean. And never returning.
Not funny In the slightest bit.

No movie since has put a manly lawful good hero on the screen. They're all whiners.
So.... what movie are we talking about?
