    To be honest Viking, I never understood RUclips, I can easily put an exercise nobody in the world can do because of how difficult it is, and get 2-5 views, while someone farting and having millions of views. I think there is a big boy behind RUclips decides to put content on the feed. Something is really odd.

    • @StrikingMachine

      youtube chopped down my only 2 public videos here into Short Clips. a regular person, not pushing "the message" is delusional if he thinks he'll become rich or famous from youtube videos. even tiktok. a celebrity spilling hot sauce on his shirt would get 1000 times more views than me doing a super-fancy kick..

    • @Greatsport99
      @Greatsport99 16 часов назад +1

      @@StrikingMachine I think there is a whole team behind youtube videos deciding what to put and what not to put. There is even a woman putting Chewbacca mask and laughing bringing millions of views. It just appears on feed and people click it. If it doesn’t appear there, nobody will click. Heck there are even idiots who moan on peoples ears bringing millions of views. Sometimes it is so idiotic.

      @@StrikingMachine Sometimes or most of the time the videos are so disgusting such as walking around and asking guys whether they want to bang them or pound them, and getting hundreds of millions of views, it seems there is like 12 year olds selecting videos for the youtube feeds. Maybe they have an agenda, I don’t know.

    Nostalgia is definitely good, and you gave a lot of unsung heroes a lot of shine (R.I.P. Steven Lambert). I'll say that you have a good niche, but don't be afraid to discuss and interview the up-and-coming generation. I don't think you even discussed Everything Everywhere All At Once when that came out, and that had a LOT of the action style that you enjoy. Action stars like Michelle Yeoh and Hiroyuki Sanada (for his performance on Shōgun) are winning awards and trending right now, so strike while that iron is hot! Also, Andy and Brian Le and Daniel Mah of Martial Club have been grinding with their stunt work and fight choreography, so hit them up! There's a ton of new news in the martial arts world happening right now just waiting to be discussed!

Your channel helped keep others in good spirits in the bad times like during the lockdowns. Hey David, long-time viewer here. I think it would be cool, talking about super cars, for you to drive some of the 80s/90s action stars around some of the filming locations whilst interviewing them. You could put a tint on the screen, throw on some shades, bring in some synthwave tracks and aesthetics and get back to that 80s spirit, but in a new wave kinda way.

    One topic you talked about before you tried to become an actor was inspiration, you made videos encouraging people to believe in their dreams, that's definitely a topic you should cover again, that kind of philosophy certainly ties into martial arts content.

  • @bigfantrailers9975
    @bigfantrailers9975 14 часов назад +2

    Sounds like the problem that 50 cent has with Lloyd Banks is not his preference of music style and decade but rather his insistent that there is nothing better than his preference. Use the The Last Kumite as an example. There is nothing wrong with paying homage to a style and genre. It was an attempt to make an 80s/90s style martial arts film in a modern context, one that is self aware and referential to it's predecessors. Although it can be seen as throwing back to the past, in this context it is something new. It is almost on commentary on the genre.
    I think the stagnation comes from those who insist on simply watching Bloodsport a million times and scoff at everything else but that is not what this channel does. There is nothing wrong with a niche, people just want to see new content added to it.
    This is the success of Tarantino. He gives consciousness of the impact of exploitation films/westerns/b movies etc. by respecting their origins and drawing from them the societal contextual substance. Everything is part of the story telling, even the overacting and bloopers. They tell a story from within and outside the film. Even though the time is passed and the genre is long dead he brings new life and commentary to it, thus adding to its legacy.
    Sometimes a channel will get a big boost from one viral video but it's very rare to see that trajectory spiral upward. The growth comes with growing an audience and yours is a truly engaged and passionate one. As far as these types of channels go the only other channel that compares in content I enjoy is Scott Adkins Art of Action. I look forward to seeing what you do next but just wanted to say that I've really enjoyed the interviews and discovering new things and getting new insights about films we have loved for decades.
    Keep up the good work mate.

      I think the rehab of your injury blog idea is a good one. You could also show how you prepare or prepared for being in Martial Arts movies. For instance detail how you trained to be ready for “The Last Kumite” and how you stay sharp and in shape on a long film shoot. Maybe detail more of your boxing training leading to your next fight. That crosses over with your shoulder rehab, as you were saying you are still managing to train around it! I think there is also a lot of interest too in how to keep in shape for Martial Arts as you age. Anyhow good luck with whichever way you decide to go! I am a relatively new subscriber but intend to stay subscribed!

    You can always cover more modern martial arts movies like Donnie Yen's Hong Kong movies(or his older ones) something like what Scott Adkins does in his channel in his free time. There's also awesome fights from foreign Thai and Indonesian movies like The Night Comes for Us, Chocolate, Raging Phoenix, Tom Yum Going and the underrated Ong Bak 2 you can cover, most of which are modern martial arts movies. You can even talk about action movies that doesn't really scream martial arts like Jackie's action adventure Armor of God 2: Operation Condor(the extended version released by 88 films is pretty awesome) or the Die Hard movies. You can analyze fight choreography by Yuen Wo Ping and both the late Corey Yuen and Brad Allan (the man who fought Jackie in Gorgeous who also worked on the action for Kick Ass and Kingsman.) Even covering stunts works could be a topic by itself. So many topics to talk about but it's all up to you. Good luck! 😎👍

    My advice is to expand, not change. This channel peaked a year or two ago because there was a pandemic, people were stuck in their homes and watching everything to pass the time. Martial arts movies are a very niche market in the US, Americans would rather watch a boxing or mma match than a martial arts movie, most of the fans are in Asia and Europe. You should spend some money to watch the entire filmography of Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Donnie Yen, Asian content will get you more views, guaranteed.

    Just my opinon here VS most of those big youtubers who have millions of subscribers thier sole focus is on thier channels its a full time job for them with no other distractions, your acting and fights are clearly a distraction for you in regards to making youtube content. So of course you are going to have dips in viewership because of that. I love your channel and the appeal of it for me is all about 80s and 90s stuff. I wouldn't unsub but would only watch the videos that interest me. You really need to try to snag an interview with JCVD, lol I am amazed Kris VD didn't help you achieve this when you interviewed him lol.

    What about the interview with Craig Baxley? I asked him at the Chiller Theater convention if he would do an interview with you and he said yes. You could discuss the holy trinity of action movies. You could also discuss his version of what happened with Van Damme on the set of Predator. His version of Matthias Hues jumping out of the window in I Come In Peace which differs from your interview with him. You could also discuss my screenplay Dragon Cop, which Craig Baxley thinks will make a great film and is currently tweaking. I also wrote the lead in Dragon Cop specifically for you David. You are the Dragon!

    Yeah, trends on youtube is a mess. Heck, every time I look in there, I can't find anything good for me to watch. And for the most of the time when I'm opening youtube, 90% chance that there is nothing to watch that would interest me. And then it gets annoying when youtube recommends you the same video that you already watched. Sure, there is channels that I subscribed to that upload videos but even then, about 70% of the time they upload content that I don't like. And then there is shorts. My god, I hate it. I hate YT's shorts, man. Because many people that I subscribed to, instead of uploading a full video, they upload frigging shorts. And that is annoying because, most of the time when I'm bored or when I get a free time, I wanted to watch something interesting. I open youtube and what do I see? I see that some channel from my subscriptions uploaded another short video. Sure, I understand that making videos takes time and effort, because I have been there, even if my videos was based around video games, but still it is annoying that you can't watch at least 20 minutes long video and you have to deal with short videos. So yeah, for most of the time I'm dealing with bad trends from my point of view and as a result, I'm mostly facing the time when I literally open youtube and there is nothing interesting for me to watch. And it sucks, man.

    Most of these trending videos that you just showed were terrible. Not really brain provoking content to say the least. People love to watch dumb shit. It sucks if you're trying to make money from RUclips since it almost forces you in the same direction.
    Luckily, my RUclips channel for me is for fun and not income.

    Some of these channels that get so many views aren't even doing anything special. It's just that they did something at one point that got a lot of attention and subscribers and now almost anything they make generates a lot of views because of their existing subscriber base. I know someone who got big by making gaming videos and now all he does is make videos of unboxing new games with some white gloves. Perhaps do some reactionary videos from content you're interested in from other peoples videos. Even pause the video at certain points then talk about it and break it down, that seems to work very well. I've like watching peoples breakdown of the Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris scene or even the alley fight scene from the same movie. You can do this and still find a way to do it on topics the channel was built on.

This can be good content.But hey, its not my channel.

    Don't adapt or change to these times trust me you really don't want to do that because then you'll be miserable you have a good thing going here you have met Legends you are living the life stay the course of time from time just take time away from it and refresh and rebuild don't change and certainly don't conform you don't want to go woke or go broke you don't want to do that you really don't want to go down that path this is like one of the last lifelines of greatness that defines eras of Life joy and excitement and that hope and that will to believe and thrive don't let these times corrupt the essence of greatness that you have if anything extreme sports like skydiving give that great Rush that good 90s vibe like the early days of ESPN extreme games second to fighting Good Times but don't go woke keep the spirit of manhood and masculinity alive and well 💪👊 it will come it's just like a great game of baseball if you search it out it make it happen in build it will come
