Thank you guys for the support & kind words. It sucks that this happened but we’re gonna get through it. I am going to shut down the pond for the winter, but next spring we’re gonna do so much with it, can’t wait!

Oh man that sucks. These kind of videos are why I love to watch aquarium videos. It tells me that everyone makes "mistakes" of some sort and to help sort out a problem, like your heater problem. My heart hurt a little not gonna lie.
you should get some japanese rice fish they can survive really cold water ive seen ponds where the top was frozen but was still alive

Maybe consider repositioning your heater into the waterfall box to help protect and hide. You mentioned animals like cats, and one of them could break it as well.

Hey Carson I’m sorry about what happens to your pond and I just wanna let you know that it wasn’t your fault and you could have never guessed that the chair would fly in the pond, you just gotta keep pushing on when bad things happen!
Yea man I learned the hard way. There was a huge storm and one of my tiki torches fell into the pond and there was oil everywhere thankfully all my fish survived but it took forever to clean out so I definitely learned my lesson

Hey man mistakes tend to happen in the fishkeeping hobby that are out of our control. There was no way you would’ve known a flying chair would be something that can kill your fish. Don’t beat yourself up over it! All we can do is move on and learn from our mistakes 💪🏽

The problem is the pond is not deep enough for fish to survive in winter. The only advise I can give is take all fish out before the temperature drops each year or make the pond deeper. As it's a turtle pond you most likely want to just remove the fish every year and put them back in when the temperature gets warmer.

Hey Carson, Likely that the fish will get ich, so prob should move them out of turtle tank so you dont get whole turtle tank sick. Could buy a big plastic tote for a temp tank. Put all guppies & platty in 10g, it will be easier to treat & lots cheaper to. Think I might just treat whole bunch in 10g as a precaution.

Carson i have been here since the beginning of Oakville fishing and it’s crazy to watch you grow. So I can proudly say I was one of the first people to watch
If you planning to restock the pond, I would suggest you to replace the guppies with white cloud mountain minnow. They can handle cold weather better than guppy
i am so sorry! i feel your pain. I had ten hatchling turtles in as pond outside, and a animal came and ripped them open and killed them all.

That’s the hardest part with any hobbies involving life. It’s good that you had another school of them elsewhere. I split out my feeder insects and snails just in case something happens with one group.
These things happen sometimes ❤️ so sorry for the fish that didn’t make it but hang in there. We learn new things from sad things sometimes ☺️❤️

I can relate !! Had a pond disaster myself. We had the band's of ETA down here my entire screenshouse came down over my little Zen garden we Just finished like 2 weeks before. Pulled the fish out before the storm but the yard is still half a disaster. Lol
all my pond fish. Gold fish platys Rosys Wild Guppies ( Prego Guppies & now babies ) in all my tanks in the house. So much for the GloFish plan for the grandson & dog. The dog watches the fish like we watch tv. Take care !

So sorry for what happened to you. That sucks. I've also had bad experiences with glass heaters. Try getting a titanium heater for next time. Great content in all your videos though. I've learned a lot.

@Carson's Aquatics I love your videos. And I'm so sorry to hear about your koi pond. But things happen and its not your fault. But with the stray cats, you can always put a net over the pond and hold it down with the big rocks surrounding your pond. It keeps predators out, leaves, and if another incident happens with the chair or something else, it'll keep it from damaging anything else.

All the fish in my pond died as well I didn’t know what happened until I figured out leeches came into from a recent storm. I think that’s what killed them
