  • Stress is a normal part of our everyday lives, but it can also lead to unhealthy attachment styles, based upon how we learned to deal
with stress from our parents. Counselors Milan and Kay Yerkovich review how stress interacts with five basic attachment styles.
Find their book in our store here: bit.ly/2MTXnzU
They also explore three common responses to stress - fight, flight, or freeze. Milan and Kay come alongside couples to help them understand how their attachment styles impact how stressful situations can be an opportunity for greater connection with their spouse.

One unspoken (addressed in part), underlying issue is trauma, PTSD survivors entering marriage with their stress chronically at a 9 of 10 due to unresolved issues, and it doesn't take much to get them to a 10 compared to someone who has not encountered these things in their childhood and their coping mechanisms don't have to be as extreme. It takes more than just an awareness to dig deep and pull the old bandaids off and cleanse and start to heal the old wounds so the chronic emotional pain can subside and the "normal" 9 of 10 stress can be lower and give them more emotional resiliency. #SafeToHope

Stress in my marriage comes from so many areas, I deal with chronic illness 24/7 so it affects everything, I would like to see something done on this. I also deal with trauma from past to present and ptsd. My husband hasn’t had to go thru hard times til he met me 4 yrs ago so there’s a lot of stress on our marriage. We aren’t able to even live together due to my health issues right now. Long story. Mold.

Question. How to love the protester? How to respond in a loving way when they do that?
    Thank you.
