Right there with you. Same age. Where did it all go wrong? The 80s is by far the greatest decade. Kids could be kids and as long as we didn't break any major laws no one cared what we did.
@@mistermr.6938 thats because you were young. I was born in the 90s, but my best lifetime started around 2010 ongoing. So depending when you got born, your youth and early adulthood is the magical time..... Unless you got a shit upbringing, than its the adulthood that gets fun.... generally spoken.
born in late 80s, lived the 90s as a kid and had many many 80s movies and music influences but even though I didn’t actually lived the 80s, gunship are able to make me feel like I’m still a child and bring back many good memories
A few years ago I was in a really bad place in life. I was laying in bed listening to music when the algorithm happened upon "When You Grow Up Your Heart Dies" and it moved me to tears. Since then, through better and worse, Gunship's music has touched my heart. At times it made me feel joy. At times it tugged at my heartstrings when I wasn't in a good headspace. The love, soul, and passion in these tracks at times was one of the few things that gave me positivity in a cold world. Thank you for being you, guys, and keep the heat coming. With love.
100% agreed! I just recently found out that my 15 year old son played "When You Grow Up Your Heart Dies" for about a year straight when he was 13/14 years old. He was going through some really head times and it probably saved his life. I love this song, too, and am so grateful to have discovered it! I'm so happy to have discovered Gunship as it touches my Gen X soul. I love that only those who have lived through the 80s would recognize the references and cultural nods to the 80s. It makes me feel like a strong, carefree and free-spirited teenager again! Thank you @GUNSHIPMUSIC ! 💖
Gunship, Dance with the Dead, Midnight Danger, Timecop1983, Waveshaper, Dynatron, and Fury Weekend are my favorite Synthwave bands. It blows my mind that these bands have not completely broke into maintsteam music. They create music that is so far superior to the garbage on the radio that I do not even listen to radio anymore. Keep it up Gunship!
Since a few years lots of mainstream pop acts have imported synthwave sounds, obviously very diluted and tamed down. The sad thing is that no one talks about synthwave. It s like its not existing and they pretend its just 80´s music influence which is wrong because synthwave is extremely heavily inspired by film soundtracks and not just 80´s mainstream music.
MORE GUNSHIP MUSIC‼️‼️‼️ been a fan for years now,, even had a gunship birthday cake once. every time they release a song it makes me just as happy as the time before ❤
And E.T. as it made Kuwahara THE BMX bike to have at the time. Lucky for them as Kuwahara got the spotlight just before their fame faded as the market was flooded and Kuwahara was just about to slip out E.T. came along and propped them up a little while longer before BMX died its first death soon after E.T. with the advent of home video games.
It's a dark, cold and rainy autumn day where I live. But holy shit guys, you made this day an amazing day with this absolute banger! Thank you for releasing it to a wider audience. Now we just need a full video for this masterpiece of a cover song.
I have such strong memories tied to the original that when I heard the first few seconds of this cover it was nostalgia overload! That gem of a track I never expected to find but a treasure to have!
Great job gun ship at doing a cover of this song by the band real life. I love how you put a heavy tcno sound in the song and brought it up beat more into a club dancing feel. ❤❤❤❤ and the picture of the BMX bike is from the 1980s movie rad.
If i could describe Gunship's music in one sentence, it'd be: everything about the 80s-synthwave, sci-fi, anime, neon, etc. All rolled into one sound that you cannot unhear.
I have loved the original since I first heard it as a teenager when it came out. I love this cover. I want it on CD though, please, please, please release a cd version.
I love the original of this song but only just discovered this version and I absolutely love it ❤ Can't stop listening to it. Well done on a brilliant cover Gunship. X
Freakin amazing version of this song.... love this so much. :) One of those moments when the remake does that little bit better than the original, making it even better. :)
Okay, this was totally unexpected but definitely not a disappointment. I know a lot of people associate this song with the movie "Rad" but I first heard it in a movie known as "The Wizard" and it's always had a special spot in terms of nostalgia for me. I feel it would be an injustice to say "This was very good for a cover", because the truth is it is very good period. Very well done.
I was playing Stellar Blade the other day and had infinite playlist on in youtube music and this song randomly came on, its crazy how well it fits with the game surprisingly 👀 its now saved on my favorites 😅
【Shades Finnish Pirates】I've been listening a lot to the original, i like this version really much well i am a christian cyber monk so that partially explains it but this song is really good!
Yep. Same for me. I remember as a kid getting mad because it only played a bit.. But hey. That movie is the reason I asked for super Mario 3 for Christmas
Hi! I got my chance to listen to your cover of Send Me An Angel! Your cover is unique. The instrumentals really gave me a feeling of going on a journey to the Skies! *___* Vocals are well done! I agree with people mentioning about a Bike with smokescreen effects! It fits well! 🌫🌝🚲 Bravo!
Gunship IS synthwave. Unicorn soldified their standing, especially when you consider their entire catalogue and remixes into account. Please come to America, specifically Tennessee. We’ve got a gorgeous place for you to stay in Monteagle for Bonnaroo. No charge.
I remember sitting next to my tape recorder waiting for this song to come on the radio so I could record it, but never could. "Real Life" wasn't a big band in the US, so I was so stoked when I found the single years later.
The second I saw the bike I knew it was E.T. ! even before the silloughett across the moon. :) So weird how Gunship gives me happy childhood vibes even when some of it was dark times.
Yes, purchase it, but also when we buy from these kinds of bands, spend a minute to find a way and buy direct, instead of sharing money with apple, or google, or amazon.
HOLY HELL I DID NOT REALIZE HOW BADLY I NEEDED THIS I grew up with Teen Wolf, Too and that study montage has lived rent-free in my head for years...from the OG, to Thrice's heavier cover and now this masterpiece of synth and rock thank you thank you
Beautiful video. A friend of mine used to be a freestyle exhibition rider. He also loved this song and the movie Rad. I only wish he was still with us to watch this. He'd have this on repeat I'm sure.
Yes! Everything about this is awesome. From OG 80’s music to syrhwave/retrowave and like other comments mention the movie RAD, connects on so many levels.
Wow..... you nailed 2 birds in 1 shot. I'm a huge fan of you guys. Keep it going! 1. RAD was my jam as a kid. 2. Dear God please send me an Angel, single dad 2 kids and a business in my hands. Times are hard especially when you have to do it solo.
Man this is such a great cover, actually had this song stuck in my head earlier this week, so this is just absolutely perfect. Love the ET nod at the end.

How nostalgic putting that bike there. Thanks for the RAD memory
Totally gnarly dude!🤘
Elliot's Kuwahara
Wasn't even trying to pay attention and read lyrics but I also noticed Elliot and ET flying across the moon in the back!
Love you for the Rad love.
I watched RAD like all of the time.
Who else is here that was born in the 80's and loves this version too?!
Ugh.. 77 here but yes loved this one!!
I literally fell in love with this band after hearing this cover
Late 70's and yes

I love th8s version so much.
The thumbnail looks like Pooka from Dig Dug 😌😂
The music video for that one is by far one of my favorite emotional video ever.
Man it's 40 years ago in my head right now. Things were so simple when we were children. Nice cover/tribute!
With E.T. doing the moon flyby… This is God tier magic 🪄💫

The original always had a sense of mystery to me and this version intensifies it. Such an awesome cover!!!
What i wanna know is why is it that it seems like these kids put synthesizers to way better use than we did back in the day? Good job!

Truth.
The music industry is a controlled space. They only want a few groups they can exert control over.

That list is amazing indeed! I would add "The Midnight" (imo the goats right now), "F.O.O.L" and "September 87".
I had forgotten about this song. Great cover!
I'm honestly shocked that the original hasn't been used in Stranger Things at some point.
I had that bike for my first BMX for racing. It's a Ross I believe. Thing was a tank. Only got 1st place once.. but it was nationals. Great memories

Same 🥰

You'll like it...

It's not a remix.
This is a cover and it is done well. Sorry to break your heart :)@@zackketz Thank you all for making it is great to hear again !!!!!
The bike in this video is amazing...a perfect tribute to the movie, RAD :)

I can't believe someone else remembers that movie... But I'm remembering the school dance alright!
That bike remind me the E.T movie by the way :)

I was looking for different remixes of this song with sound in my head on how it should sound. And here, I found it.

Vid needs to include the BMX dance scene from Rad 😁
Damn, took me back to elementary school going to the skating rink
I have such strong memories tied to the original that when I heard the first few seconds of this cover it was nostalgia overload! That gem of a track I never expected to find but a treasure to have!
Stranger things may have cracked open the door for 80s Nostalgia but Gunship is here kicking it down with every new song, I'm in love!
This song would get me so pumped every time I watched The Wizard. Great cover!

The bike lol cos RAD, correct? Never seen that shit, aside from the clip with this song, and its the most 80s thing ever.
