In this video I'll explain about how the anime culture in Kerala had started and how did the anime culture developed throughout these years.
Anime (Japanese: アニメ, IPA: [aꜜɲime] ⓘ) is hand-drawn and computer-generated animation originating from Japan. Outside Japan and in English, anime refers specifically to animation produced in Japan.[1] However, in Japan and Japanese, anime (a term derived from a shortening of the English word animation) describes all animated works, regardless of style or origin. Many works of animation with a similar style to Japanese animation are also produced outside Japan. Video games sometimes also feature themes and art styles that are sometimes labelled as anime.
The earliest commercial Japanese animation dates to 1917. A characteristic art style emerged in the 1960s with the works of cartoonist Osamu Tezuka and spread in following decades, developing a large domestic audience. Anime is distributed theatrically, through television broadcasts, directly to home media, and over the Internet. In addition to original works, anime are often adaptations of Japanese comics (manga), light novels, or video games. It is classified into numerous genres targeting various broad and niche audiences.[2]
Anime is a diverse medium with distinctive production methods that have adapted in response to emergent technologies. It combines graphic art, characterization, cinematography, and other forms of imaginative and individualistic techniques.[3] Compared to Western animation, anime production generally focuses less on movement, and more on the detail of settings and use of "cam unera effects", such as panning, zooming, and angle shots.[3] Diverse art styles are used, and character proportions and features can be quite varied, with a common characteristic feature being large and emotive eyes.[4]
The anime industry consists of over 430 production companies, including major studios such as Studio Ghibli, Kyoto Animation, Sunrise, Bones, Ufotable, MAPPA, Wit Studio, CoMix Wave Films, Production I.G, and Toei Animation. Since the 1980s, the medium has also seen widespread international success with the rise of foreign dubbed, subtitled programming, and since the 2010s due to the rise of streaming services and a widening demographic embrace of anime culture, both within Japan and worldwide.[5] As of 2016, Japanese animation accounted for 60% of the world's animated television shows.[6]

I never understood why One Piece had so much hype. Like, I've seen anime like AOT, Demon Slayer before and I get their hype. Half-heartedly saw the Ep 1 of live action and boom, eight episodes done. Then without thinking drove straight into the anime. TO THE GRAND LINE!!!
Oda actually takes time to flush out the characters more. In one piece there are very few true villains and hero's just like in real world. The rest of characters are shades of grey. Also one piece is not luffy the be all and end all of the world like tanjiro in demon slayer or eren in aot. Luffy is a part in this big world. There are characters in one piece that could take the entire straw hat crew with their hands tied. Some of the greatest moments in one piece does not feature luffy at all

I started watching in 2020, when my friend told me to watch it. Didnt even know about anime before. And not even one person talked about it.Until.. I think 2022 or 2023, it suddenly became popular, but just as before, its just Naruto. Naruto or demon slayer, thats what everyone watches, and jjk too. These 3 are the main popular anime ( In kerala ) atleast from my experience
I started to watch it in 2011 if you consider pokemon ,digimon ,dinosaur king ,and idatin jump ...and many more as an anime .
But the real thing i started to watch is since 2015 or something. like in 2020 a friend of mine asked me do you watch any anime .
I was surprised . Ithink most of the people from kerala started to watch it since 2019 or 2020 mostly because of the fame of demon slayer movie i guess

Despite viewing anime for over seven years, I have never watched One Piece, Naruto, or Attack on Titan🤓. I started by watching some random anime videos on RUclips, such as Fairy Tail and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I also never had any otaku friends that could recommend any decent anime😒. then began to watch anime on a seasonal basis. I believe that over the years, I have seen over a hundred anime series, manga, manhua, and manhwa (some Doujinshi too). In fact, it somewhat aids in my ability to draw better. Many thanks to the strange anime film "Hotarubi no mori".it gives me a lot of depression.😅.

Bro thats how most of the people's life works... Its not about being the thing you like its about the thing on how much control you have on them... Majority of poeple watches anime are living a normal life and youre saying your friend got ruined by anime... If youre saying youre friend has came to this condition because he watched anime, then i can bet that he would've become the same person now by watching something else which have the same effects even if he didn't watched any anime at all... So its more like the person problem than blaming the whole anime genre... As for the solution, time will tell...
